Radical?

You might as well buy a Vulcan/Hesse/Blackthorn.

The only .22 i had was a MAB semi auto .22 from my father circa 1950? Has a floating firing pin, still shoots reliably well. I bought the TX22 some months ago when all the rage was the very pricey Ruger Mark IV. Got it mainly for the threaded barrel, but the price was good too - great piece. Grandson shoots the hell out of it.

I don't know that the much maligned KelTec CP33 was a good price ($630 ? ) - after much research and homework , I got it for the threaded barrel and the 33 rd mags. got a speed loader for it for obvious reasons. The 'experts' used to rag about KelTec being a cheap pos , but I'm thinking they've come a long way since the bad press a few years ago. Very happy with it.

The Keltec and Taurus are the most popular .22s now. You can buy a Ruger or Walther, but they are older designs and $150 more.

I believe the Keltec is a clam shell, so you need to Locktiite the screws.

Hammertime?

Menards has four of the Halder dead blow hammers on sale at about 1/3 of their normal cost. Plus, this falls into the timeframe of the Menards 11% MAIL-IN REBATE Good Through 5/28/22. So, if you are near a Menards store you can receive a 11% rebate to be used IN STORE on a future purchase. For those not near a Menards store, they do ship orders. IMO, it would be too expensive to justify the purchase of one hammer BUT if you order more stuff in the same order, it makes the shipping costs much more palatable. One additional point...... FYI.... At these prices, it is less expensive to purchase another hammer than it is to purchase replacement face inserts for the hammer!

The hammers on sale are the:

Halder Supercraft 19 oz. Dead Blow Hammer Model Number: 3388.035 for $8.99

Halder Supercraft 26 oz. Dead Blow Hammer Model Number: 3388.04 for $14.99

Halder Supercraft 2 lb Dead Blow Hammer Model Number: 3388.05 for $14.99

Halder Supercraft 3.75 lb Dead Blow Hammer Model Number: 3388.06 for $19.99

Here is the link to all of their Halder offerings:

https://www.menards.com/main/search.html?sf_categoryHierarchy=&search=halder+hammer

They ship quickly. I placed my order on Friday morning and they arrived Sunday via Fed Ex.

Keltec Sub2000 $480

Nice deal for those who like this type of weapon. With all due respect to the OP, I was never a big fan of rifles chambered in a pistol round caliber. I never saw the point but, different strokes for different folks! :2 thumbs up:

I don't own one, but it's a popular platform and cheap carbine that folds in half for easy storage. Lots of fanboys

I am tempted to sell some VZs and buy the MP knockoff, but I already have a 10" 5.56 AR pistol still unfired.

My goto's are LCP, SP101, Glock19 and VZ58.

Why 20 rounds?
I don't own a single one I guess. New WA law will kick in July 1st but I can still have them sent to a second property in another atate.

From videos I've seen on the subject I think it takes more than a space blanket to reduce a person's heat signature.
'Fraid so. Night is day as far as your body is concerned with imaging in use. You can tell if someone has long or short sleeves on as he "hides" there...

A thermal blanket may help camping. For drone avoidance, get underground or underwater.

I found the concept intriguing however; it seems, from what you guys are saying, it won't work.

Back to the drawing board! :oriental:

Between here and there
Just ordered a full ammo box of 5.56 from bulkammo.com. Right around fifty cents a round. Australian stuff.

Every little bit added to what you already have is just that little bit more.

Shootie -- I just found a really neato example of how night is no longer a time when you cannot be seen. There is a hog-hunt YouTube with guys using the latest CIVILIAN night vision stuff.

And you can watch right through the reticle of the scope on the rifle. The scope can shift to three different modes -- each mode turns night into day.

1. Shows the forest and bushes, etc. in grey tones, with the oinks being snow white

2. Shows the forest and bushes as if in daylight, and the oinks as jet black

3. Is unreal. Scary. Fabulous for hunting -- your view through the scope is in daytime-equivalent and in full fargin COLOR, no less

Here's just one I screen-grabbed from a video to save you trouble of looking for hogs (kewl, though). Forget the hogs... look at the trees... the ground, the water, the sky. WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO TO BLEND IN??? And this one ain't nearly the best, IMO. Note the crosshairs centered on the forehead of the nearest hog... doesn't stand out as well as other modes.

night vision.jpg

Here's another video where you can see two modes going on at once. Pore fargin hawg aint gonne furgle up any more fields...
<-- Take a look at what the dead of night looks like at the 7-minute mark as they are walking in... Broad fargin daylight. No other way to really express it.

OOOhhh. Found the night time (3:25AM) Color/B&W/Infra-Red switching... At the 11:00 minute mark. Try to hide under your (*snork*) thermal blanket from civilians...

Take a stab at what the military has if the above is on shelves in stores as you read this...

I'm just having fun with this, but at the 17:22 mark, there is a guy walking toward you and you can see he has a (useless) camo T-shirt on: It doesn't work to the point that you can see the T-shirt pocket clearly, never mind the guy...
