I need suggestions. I'm totally serious.

Religion doesn't cut, the Mormons tried but could not help. Nice folks though.

Jehova's Witness tried to work with me but that was a failure as well. Nice folks as well.

Is there an American commune type setting somewhere I would fit in?

Being forced to have multiple wives will be considered.

What the (L) do you want outta life? If it's someone to hold your hand just get thrown in jail. If it's something to believe in then believe in yourself and carry on.

You can send the silver now.

Sounds like you're not doing too well. Sorry to hear that. But before anyone could offer you any advice they'd need to know what's wrong. Sounds like you're kinda lonely. Maybe you could tell us exactly what's going on and why you're feeling down in the dumps.

If I think I can offer you some helpful advice I'll be more than happy to do it for free. I'm going out for a bit but I'll check back on this thread later. In the mean time just let it all hang out. Sometimes talking about a problem can be therapeutic. Maybe things aren't as bad as they seem

QWAK,rush2112,I posted this on another thread but it could posably help in your situation.:dontknow:

The oldest trick in the book to dealing with stress is to hit ones head agenst a wall :banghead: ---- if stress continues hit head harder and more often.:banghead::banghead::banghead:

You will be AMASED how good it feels when you stop!:23_30_104::551::lol04:

If you pass out cold the stress just slips away in your sleep.:sleepy13:

If you use the head hit technique often enough it can cause memory loss.:confused_ma:

After trying the proved head hit :banghead: and it does not help  you could try a:hahaha: do it your self frontal lobomotomy but it would be best to get help doing it:yes: as the drill could slip and you put an eye out.

MULTIPLE WIVES! Son you need some psychiatric counseling. And the world, unfortunately for you and myself, is not there to take care of us.

Go for a hike. Go for a paddle. Camp in the woods. Great way to clear your head......
I tried that earlier this week, took a 8 hour drive to Parry Sound in northern Ontario for a test run.

When they told me the snow banks were 7' high last winter I knew it was not for me.

Thanks for the input anyway.

Thanks again and the psychiatric counseling is being taken care of.

And your last comment is so true.

I'm at work. This deserves a detailed reply. I do have answers that will help. Knowledge, understanding and purpose. I will post tonight. Follow up on it and your entire perspective will change. Enlightenment is like normal life, lived a few inches off the ground.

My first step was to get rid of the internal negative thoughts. As soon as you catch yourself putting yourself down, replace it with the completely opposite, positive thought about youself.

I do have an open invitation to go live in Cuba with the family I help support.

I been there before, not in a resort but living among the Cubans themselves.

I like the non-commercial aspect, no Walmarts ect

Roadside tin shacks offering outside raised pork sandwiches sliced off the cooked pig as you watch for under a buck.

The kicker is I have to give up my Canadian passport to become one of them. Not ready to go that far as of yet.

I’m passing this on because it worked for me.

Today, a Doctor on TV said that in order to have inner peace in our lives, we should always finish things that we start.

Since we all could use more calm in our lives, I Looked around my house to find things

I’d started & hadn’t finished.

I finished a bottle of Merlot, a bottle of Chardonnay, a bodle of Baileys,

a butle of wum, tha mainder of Valiuminun scriptins, an a Box a choclutz.

Yu has no idr how fablus I feel rite now. Sned this to all Ur frenz who

need inner piss. An telum u luv um.

Hallucinogen therapy may be the thing that will renaissance your mind. Of course it might send you all the way over the edge. San Pedro, psilocybin, peyote, ibogaine. They will all get you there and maybe beyond.

Exercise and charitable giving (or volunteering your time if you don't have the funds) will both help self esteem

I know there are a lot of anti-pharma people here, but I'm not one of them. There are anti-depression medications that don't have the old (numbness) side effects.

Having a chemical imbalance may have a bit of a stigma but viewed dispassionately it's no different than setting your broken arm. Find out what is wrong and correct it.

(I'm assuming there is the possibility of some element of depression)

Thanks but no thanks.

My last drug trip, free-basing cocaine some twenty years ago, was not pleasant.

I went into a type of cocaine psychoses which involved hallucinations known as formication.

I did eventually come down after a few days. Never again.

C'mon.............let it all hang out. If I can, I'll talk to you like a dutch uncle.

No speakers but I think I know the song, haven't heard it in years, great voice.

or

Maybe it's that "The last Farewell" song I always liked but never hear it anymore.

Hey............here's the words:

Roger Whittaker – New World In The Morning lyrics

Everybody talks about a new world in the morning.
A new world in the morning so they say.
I, myself don't talk about a new world in the morning.
A new world in the morning, that's today.

And I can feel a new tomorrow comin' on.
And I don't know why I have to make a song.
Everybody talks a bout a new world in the morning.
New world in the morning takes so long.

I met a man who had a dream he had since he was twenty.
I met that man when he was eighty-one.
He said too many people just stand and wait up til the mornin',
Don't they know tomorrow never comes.

And he would feel a new tomorrow coming on.
And when he'd smile his eyes would twinkle up in thought.
Everybody talks about a new world in the morning.
New world in the morning takes so long.

And I can feel a new tomorrow coming on.
And I don't know why I have to make a song.
Everybody talks about a new world in the morning.
New world in the morning takes so long.

Rush,

This might help so take it for what it's worth: There are three thing in this life that can give back and bring you joy at the same time- Build something, Grow something, or Teach something!

I Build small things we can use around the place, I Grow things (farmer) and I teach my friends/family/neighbors things that I know. Build, Grow, Teach!

Hope that might help.

I think the whole world gets more negative every day. It feels like it.

Lately I have been trying to stand or sit with my bare feet on the ground for a few minutes.
All the negative crap I pick up goes right through my feet to ground.

Perspective is reality. If the world seems more negative, it means your perspective has shifted. The world contains plenty of evil and an abundance of good. Your experience will be consistent with what you choose to perceive.

For a moment, reflect upon an experience with a loved one. Do not look for pictures; it is not images you are to remember. Instead, focus on the feeling as you reflect. What was the experience of the moment? Embrace the joy. Reflect on how you felt and how you appreciate that person. Have you told him or her what a treasure they have been in your life? Say how you feel out loud to them. Call if you can, or say it to the world if you can't (such as if they are dead). It's important to speak your true feelings and to do so out loud. Now reflect upon another loved one. Repeat this a few times and you will find yourself in a new frame of mind... an open frame of mind. Do not proceed until your mind is open and you feel genuinely uplifted.

I have the answers Rush, but I cannot give them to you. They must be earned. You will not find them in religion, a sect, or anywhere outside yourself. As Tolstoy put it, "The kingdom of God is within you." He was a wise man, and perhaps you wish for him to be your guide. If so, you can start by reading his books. I personally found his writing style disjointed, so I chose Alan Watts to be my guide. He's been dead more than a decade, but he can still mentor you. His works are on audio and in videos found throughout the web. Listening and absorbing what he says will change you. From your post, it sounds like you are ready. Will you invest the time?

Here is a link to an Alan Watts recording on Youtube. It can help explain why the mentors you have sought in the past were unable to help. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTIVrFV3S2c. The video is a start. Where you go from there depends upon your interests. Alan Watts has recordings on most any topic; his information on Hindu mythology is most enlightening.

In addition to a guide, you need content... experiences by which to understand life's purpose and more specifically, your purpose. My content has been public accounts that show what is beyond death. Reading about those who have departed and returned, the knowledge they returned with and the worth they found in life has given me answers to your questions. This information is much closer to the source of wisdom than any interpreted scripture can be. The individuals share their perceptions and when you have read enough accounts, you get a good understanding for what is, and what this life is about.

An absence of understanding produces a life void of direction; that is to say you can't efficiently get where you are going if you don't know where that is. The frustration you express shows you are floundering and that you seek to determine your direction. Here are a few accounts from people who have died and returned. No single account will provide you understanding, but invest time reading a few accounts and you will find wisdom and understanding grows. Your beliefs will develop and you will begin to understand your life's purpose. You will also be further uplifted. These accounts will get you started:

Brenda R NDE
Michael Joseph NDE
Glen D NDE
Nicola E Friend Experience

If you have read to this point, your journey has begun. You have to decide where it leads from here. There are many paths to the truth. The most important thing however, is that you find it for yourself. No shortcut provides the answer you seek.

Peace of mind comes not from worldly counsel, but from the One who gave you life. You don't need a go-between, or a religion, to reach the Creator. You can do that directly, in humble prayer, asking Him for help. He may not do what you want when you want it but it will be what you need, when and where you need it, if you will trust your life to Him, and not to the counsel of worldly/religious charlatans.

"Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me."

What worked for me after I got laid off my job 5 years ago and had to start an unplanned retirement was ecstatic dance, 5 Rhythms moving meditation, Soul Motion and
similar dance practices under many different names. Not just the practices themselves, but the people surrounding it. My health was wrecked by job stress at that time,
and meeting natural healers in that crowd was invaluable. Lots of other good stuff.

Perhaps your part of the world does not have this, or if it does it may have a different feel from where I live. Hopefully it is as inclusive as what I have experienced.

Simple advice would be to just eat healthy food, find a naturopath or good health food store.

Good Luck and Take Care

On further thought, a lot of my feelings of malaise, depression, foggy brain, etc. improved after I started taking better care of my body,
so it makes sense to start with health. Turns out finding someone who can help heal your body is much harder than finding
a therapist, counselor, spiritual guide or whatever. In my case luck played a large part and stumbling across what I needed to know.

I've learned to be grateful. There's been better men who've had a tougher lot in life than me. If your on here, you've got a lot going for you in life. Take inventory of those things.
Long story, years ago I was feeling sorry for myself and seen a hot mom, milf today, pull up. I checked her out but she was busy and unaware of me. She parked her van and got out busily. Not once ever looking my way. She opened the side door and pulled out their wheelchair, positioned it and began to hoist her large gangly 16-20 year old crippled son. It occurred to me then what she and other people have in life to do. Day after day, all day. Off course I don't know the story behind her situation, as I don't know yours. But, we've all got to cope.
