Hemp Seeds, A Source of Protein and Omega-3's

Hemp seed comes from the hemp plant, a fibrous non-psychoactive species that is now utilized for its shelled seeds, a nourishing and energizing food source. While the hemp plant itself has been grown and used extensively in all parts of the world for thousands of years, large scale use of hemp seeds has really only occurred in the last few decades. This is mostly due to the fact that the tiny seeds need to be mechanically hulled in order to make them edible and pleasant to eat.

I'm pretty sure it's the exact same species and weed, but just a different phenotype expressed.

I tried 'em. I LIKE 'em! Seriously good stuff in salads or just as a snack. Haven't tried cooking with them as flavor additive, like a spice or a post cooking additive like some salt but I will be exploring the possibilities!

Hemp oil is also good. As I've aged my hands get incredibly dry, guess I ain't a greaser any more. Anyway, I've been using hemp oil on my hands along with a dab of olive oil and of a lotion, also with hemp oil. It's greasy at first but it soon enough absorbs in and any excess you can just wipe off. Makes my hands feel good and the skin isn't cracking any more.
