They say we are gonna get above freezing today or tomorrow. Been a real nice winter with no snow but we pay for that every time with poor crops.

But, what were you doing laying down in it?

I was global warming!

for some reason my phone posts pics sideways like that. I'm sure there is a setting, however, /:effort:

February was warmer and milder than usual this year. 30*F right now and clear as bell. Wind, like usual is like someone left a fan running...it blows...really. It's a typical attribute of winter here.

Anyway, I popped into this thread today to post this about Moscow, Russia ...the end quote from Putin I thought to be interesting if not encouraging:

Moscow sees warmest winter since records began

Tourists walk at a holiday market during Maslenitsa (Shrovetide) celebrations in front of the Historical Museum, left, and historical hotel Moscow on Revolution Square near the Kremlin Wall in Moscow, Russia, Feb. 25, 2020.
Moscow, which for the past months has largely been deprived of its traditional seasonal covering of snow, has seen its warmest winter since records began, Russia's state weather service has annoucned.

The head of Russia's forecasting centre Roman Vilfand told the TASS news agency that the average temperature in Russia from December to February has been 2.5C warmer than the previous record of -2.8C seen in the winter of 1960-1961.

He said such differences between records were extremely rare. Records began 140 years ago in Russia.

"I am sure that we are not going to see such a warm winter again for a long time," he said. He added that the winter record for Russia as a whole would also likely be beaten but said the data was still being compiled.

2019 was also the hottest year ever registered in Russia. Muscovites of the elder generation fondly remember crisper and colder winters from decades back when the parks of the city were covered in plentiful snow.

The Kremlin acknowledges global warming, with President Vladimir Putin saying in December that the rate of warming for Russia was 2.5% higher than elsewhere on the planet.

But he cast doubt over whether global warming is of manmade origin and stated it could be blamed on cosmological processes. "Nobody knows the origins of global climate change," Mr Putin said.

Snow is going by sideways if not slightly up. Wind gusts over 70mph and I was watching a magpie fly across the yard that got surprised by a gust that literally flipped it over. Wife ain't gonna be asking for me to take her out for anything.

Trees are budding and daffodils are already sprouting around here even with low 30's last week.

After a nice long stretch of nice spring weather we now have a snow storm moving through. Snowy Easter. It can go either way around here. I don't think the lettuce or radishes will mind too much. Looking at radar it is about to get a lot heavier.

Had perfect working weather the past couple days. We had thunderstorms last night again but it's already cleared out and beautiful again.... BUT there's a freeze warning for tonight!

I can only take cold in short spurts. I spent a winter in Vermont and kept expecting the weather to let up (being from San Antonio), it never did, it just stayed cold and got colder - even experienced 30 below. That shite will kill ya. Have a daughter in Maine right now, snowed in and the power went out - she thought cold weather would be fun :)

Yeah, spent 10 years in Maine....once the cold says hello it's a long nasty bite to the bone. Not a productive enough environment for me in that debilitating atmosphere.

YOWZA to the above posts.

I look at it thisaway:

If you strip nekkid and go outside and lay down in your front yard... Observe what happens:

1. In 35 minutes in Montana... You DIE.
2. In Unca's Chateau lawn: You have a strong desire for a gin-and-tonic.

Guess whut I pick.

Here in snowflake city, you'd either drown or float off, depending on your body/fat mass ratio.

Yep, we'll be getting that here in a few hours too. Good thing though is once it blows through that will be it, the last blast.
Then I can hook up the outdoor water and hoses and get spring chores on!

Got snow blowing and then sunshine. 22F and sooooo much better than hot. The early geese will lose their eggs and that is OK too cause there is getting to be too many of them. Chickadee's are still around the house.

I almost got it going last Wednesday because I'm sick of feeding quarters into the car wash in town, then it snowed like a bitch Thursday!
I felt pretty smart after that one.

Our weather has made the turn, I hope.
We've been in the lo 70's to now in the mid 60's. I opened up our outside water yesterday. Today I washed both the family car & my pickup for the first time in 6 months. Yes, they were very dirty.
Check out the tight fit in the barn. What you don't see, is the motorhome to the right of the truck. I come within 10 inches of it with the right front bumper.
