It finally got up to around 30 today. I passed a guy that had more than 4 Elk hooves sticking out of the side of his pickup.
Poor dog can't even sniff the ground without getting a white face.View attachment 186026View attachment 186027
That PLACE is beautiful. Boy back in the 1970s in my HIGH skiing days; I would have LOVED it! What the heck is fifty (50) years?

How's my weather? Feels seasonal. Currently in Sweden, upper 30s lower 40s. 4 rainy days then 2 sunny.
31, 30 nights, 35 days, little sunshine this far north. A few dustings of snow at night.
Found a car junkyard nearby where off a truck I was able to buy and get mounted a full set of aluminium rims mounted with snow tires for under $500. Removed the dinner table from the camper to store the summer set, so no back seats now...
Snow tires are mandatory in Sweden starting December 1st.

Closer to $350, actually. Pretty satisfied with my bargaining skills that day!

Well that makes it a FIVE STAR deal. Only thing better would be for him to pay you to take them. CONGRATS

We exceeded "Lightweights" status 2 weeks ago, in Coos Bay. Registered 50 MPH sustained & 110 MPH gusts Friday & Saturday nights around midnight & 2 am. Many areas without power & it did extensive damage all over the area.

California will fall into the ocean, so, the pillow toss is still relevant.

If not, I will get a commiefornia pillow and toss it in the pond

Florida is great with the Homesteading and taxes and whatnot but the weather can be hot garbage.
It's a handful of cold fronts. That's winter. Right now, we're waiting for the next cold front. It was 80 yesterday.

It's 80 today. :(
It's always 80.:(
The average temp over the entire YEAR is 80.:(

During the day, It's usually much higher than 80... Thankfully, it cools off at night!

At night, it cools down to 80...:(

Interesting, all the weather complaints.

I have nothing to complain about, in that vein...and that's why I'm complaining. This has been a warm winter...we had a dusting of snow on the ground from Wednesday night, and it's almost all gone. Temperature in the mid forties. No snow, no wet roads.

Why complain? Because...without a deep snowpack in the mountains...we're gonna have an hellacious forest-fire season next summer. Compleat with the television imbeciles trying to tie it in with Glow Bull Warming.

I just complain to pass the time. It's a good excuse to write. Actually winter is turning out great. We had a nice 40 degrees or so for Christmas. Its the perfect temp to curl up with a book, a dog, a smoke and some hot coffee. It's good front porch weather.

As a bonus, you get the entertainment of watching the long-time locals dress up like astronauts any time we dip below 75.

It has been a very mild winter here. First real cold snap just started.
Not complaining. I might have a good opportunity tomorrow to put my temperature display micro controller circuit to properly read a negative value.

lol, even though I know you're not joking judging by the frost pic you posted in the random pics thread. :)

No doubt people in FL are laughing too but I just make the best of it.
