Lots more rain in the Fraser Valley the last couple days. Water came up to about a foot away from my back door before I got out the big pump and kept things dry.

It is still so wet down here and so much standing water that the ground is totally saturated and every little bit of rain just pools up and starts running.

It has been a great eye opener for a lot of people about just how unprepared they are. For a guy like me it is just a mild annoyance but for the unprepared it is a full on emergency.

It would be nice to think that this event would convince a lot of my neighbors to prepare to better take care of themselves. But, I'm not getting my hopes up.

50s at night and 70s in the day. That's northern Cali weather, but I'm in FL.

Yee haaa, I just drove 77 miles in a freaking white out blizzard! Woo baby that was hairy! Timing is perfect though I picked up my freshly serviced Mule from the Kawasaki dealer yesterday and got to trailer it home on dry roads. I was paranoid I'd have to trailer it home in a mess of snow salt and slush. Got the cabin closed up for the winter today and got to watch the weather go from flurries to ridiculous while I was doing it.

All and all I'm happy with the way it went, and today starts Gold panning paydirt @ home season!

Few things are as comforting as being in a safe, secure building while the weather rages outside.

-10F this morning with 6-8 inch's of new snow, suppose to get down near -20F tonight and I'll be checking to keep the pork brining from freezing.

Florida people shouldn't be allowed to post in this thread.........because this time of year they aren't having weather. Just "nice".

Nice is nice, but, it isn't "weather"

whether or not they agree

one more smart remark from you and I'll put my florida vodoo pillow in the washing machine

-8C here this morning and snowing hard. I feel bad for my sweetie, he's night RF for the hwy maint. crew, they have 16 plow trucks and two work. Two. I don't know how this outfit keeps the contract. The mechanics won't fix the trucks! Day shift drives around in empty sand trucks maxxing out the hours so night shift can't use them. Unbelievable.

Weather in the western Florida Panhandle is off the charts wonderful. But we flat pay for it in the drenching humid hell of summer.

I am melting!

I can see you're not driving a pickup truck.

It's only running in the mid to high 70's here with low humidity. That's as good as it gets.

In the news reports from Detroit a week or so back about the school shootings, did you see that nasty grey sky and grey snow in the outdoor shots? That sucks!

Actually Tom it does not suck, it is our way of knowing when actual good weather hits. Nice to have a diverse climate.

Yes, I quite understand. It's like hitting yourself in the head with a hammer; it feels soooo good when you stop.

Why are you dropping them? Sanctioned population control?

On a business trip in Salt Lake City, my flight home may be cancelled due to inclement weather. Doesn't say if it's a blizzard or ice rain, not sure.

Was mid 20's last night.
Tomorrow's supposed to be near record high, around 70.

This is flat out insane for a December 15 forecast here in Minnesnowta. 61 degrees, severe thunderstorms and wind gusts as high as 60 MPH!

One good thing about NC is the mild Fall/Winter weather. On the other hand the pizza and Chinese food suck.

80 degrees houston -- caught 4 speckled trout and a redfish from my bulkhead last night. this warm la nina winter is great for our fishing

not my bold ---

How La Niña may impact winter weather in the U.S. The climate pattern known as La Niña generally brings winters that are drier and warmer than usual across the southern U.S. and cooler and wetter in the northern part of the country.

Almost 75 today and calling for 80 mph wind gusts to the south of the snowy wasteland of Minnesota. Yikes.

Des Moines is looking at setting an all time Monthly high for December.
