we spent years (raising kids years) on table rock over time it is slowly becoming commercialized (nothing like lake of ozarks) but being a anti-social type as i am LOL.....our family has a Place now on Truman lake which has very low people penetration and outstanding fishing in comparison
Played several private gigs around that area.

not many people really know about the rockaway beach area

that’s great!…..they all can go to Branson

Last time I was there I rented a cottage close enough to the Taneycomo I could have cast my fishing pole from the front porch to catch fish

it was winter , trout bite better in the cold , and I got the cottage for $125 all freaking week!….

rent a boat at the marina and fish all day!

intresting tidbit.......taneycomo damn have you ever seen it in full flood? .....it is quite a site i have seen it in person (pictures somewhere) where it was just ripple spot in the river from water being higher than the dam itself.......you gotta be stupid or tough to swim in that lake LOL

some record size stripers are caught below the dam

at the other end of the lake is a fish hatchery and it’s worth it to stop and take a tour of the place…

they have the mother of all rainbow trouts there for breeding

The biggest freshwater fish I ever saw were at a hatchery in the columbia river gorge in oregon. They were sturgeon. the things were at least 10' long, and so fat their backs stuck out of the water, which was at east 2 ft deep.

I was out getting my head right about 5:30 am, staring straight west. I saw a bolt of lighting strike straight down from the sky off in the distance. About 30 seconds passed, and it happened again in the same place as judged by the land markers in front of me like light poles and trees. About 10 seconds after that I heard the first crack of thunder so pretty far off. Weird as fuck.

...we got a little snow out of the storm....big temp drop...high 60s to low 30s
Here in Central KY we got the big temp drop. Just sat the trash out for collection in the morning. I could feel a little sleet in the cold blowing wind.

Southwest France... where March was all blooms... now getting sub-freezing nights for 4 days...

I wrapped my line of tomatoes, basil and pepper plants, as well as my grape vines - with plastic roll of "suitcase-wrap"....

Been a cold and windy spring so far with the occasional nice day. Today is cold, tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and nice so I'll get up early and get the full effect. If I was trying to treasure hunt this spring instead of getting things done the wind would be pissing me off to no end. I can take cold out in the lakes but cold with wind is a no go.

On a good note cold is great for working in the woods so I am getting a lot of chores done. Now that I have a Kawasaki Mule I have to make all my trails around the property wider, I made them originally for quads. I'll get a lot more of that done today so I can goof off 100% tomorrow!

Third day of second winter this month. Outside my window it's 28 degrees, with a Winter Weather Advisory for the next 18 hours.

The temperatures last night and forecast tonight, are record cold for this time of year. Yeah, Glow Bull Warming....

I got two questions.

1). When are we gonna start seeing some of this Global Warming?

2). And, how can I speed it up?

Earf Dae is coming up. I'm gonna celebrate...with a big tire fire!
Duh...don't you know that Global Warming can make the planet cooler? Pffft...a third grader knows this. (sarcasm!) :p

Yeah, snowing as I type this. 35 degrees out and it's sticking on the grass.

This is reminiscent of the Seven Years of Famine that Joseph warned Pharaoh about.

Lost 30 days, so far, from our growing season.

There's a fair amount of farming done out this way, in various areas. We're a patchwork of mountains and grasslands, with tillable soil in many places.
