If it was that bright colliding w/ Jupiter I'm glad Jupiter was there to collect it and prevent it from getting to Earth at any point in the future.
That big on our monster planet would have been a life killer on Earth.
It would then be the world of the cockroach. JMHO
Sometimes after something collides with Jupiter a dark spot will from and persist for some time. I wonder if this one was large enough to cause that. Most notably this happened in 1994 when comet Schumacher-Levy 9 impacted Jupiter.
The Perseids are already active (I often encourage people to look before and after peak night of the Perseids, this year the bright moon will make peak night tough to observe). However, that's here on Earth. I am not sure where Jupiter is relative to the path of debris.
Regular meteor showers occur when Earth moves through the debris stream (often left over by old comets), so I wouldn't expect meteor showers on Earth to coincide with meteor showers on other planets very often. Just letting you know.
Where we are heading anyhow. They make life so miserable people will welcome a just end where everyone gets it at the same time.
Now I see millenials are depressed because their 1500 "friends" on fb are not real or simply don't care. They have no friends just digital fake news friends. They will wake up but it will take a while.
