Kid Rock Confirms Senate Run: ‘Sick and Tired’ of Politicians’ ‘Bullsh*t’

Musician Kid Rock appeared to confirm his run for the U.S. Senate in his home state of Michigan Thursday with a fiery Facebook message in which he blasted the media for “once again” being “wrong” about his potential candidacy and took a shot at incumbent Sen. Debbie Stabenow.
Rock had hinted at a potential run for Senate on Wednesday with the launch of a campaign website, kidrockforsenate.com. But some media outlets speculated that the website was a publicity stunt, as the only links on the site were to an online merchandise store with Rock-branded apparel run by Warner Bros. Records.

“Once again the press is wrong,” Rock wrote in Facebook post Thursday. “First of all, I’ve got 15 days from my announcement to file paperwork with the FEC! Second, I’m not signed to Warner Bros!!! – which simple fact-checking would have revealed.”

The 46-year-old rocker confirmed his bid to run for Senate and said he would release new music during his campaign, similar to how politicians release books during their own campaigns.

“I have recently worked out a unique deal with BMG, Broken Bow, CAA and Live Nation to release music ON MY TERMS. Like politicians write books during their campaigns, I’m planning on putting out music during mine and IT ALL STARTS TONIGHT AT MIDNIGHT,” Rock said, defiantly adding: “It’s not a hoax, it’s a strategy and marketing 101! No plans for an album or anything else that has been the usual norm in the music business OR politics…..and…..”

Rock also addressed his would-be political opponent, longtime Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI), saying that while she plays politics, he will be “a voice for tax paying, hardworking AMERICANS.”

“Senator Stabenow and I do share a love of music, although probably not the same kind. I concede she is better at playing politics than I am so I’ll keep doing what I do best, which is being a voice for tax paying, hardworking AMERICANS and letting politicians like her know that We the People are sick and tired of their bullsh*t!” he wrote.

Rock — real name Robert James Ritchie — had been floated as a possible Senate candidate in Michigan during the state’s Republican Party convention in February. He has previously described his political views as “more libertarian,” but he supported Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign in 2012, and Donald Trump’s in 2016.

Stabenow has held her seat in Michigan since 2000, and won re-election in 2012 with 58 percent of the vote.

A quick reminder for anybody who says Robert James Ritchie is not qualified to be a US Senator.
If anything Mr Ritchie as a focused, driven, hard working self made muti millionaire is over qualified.

Here are a couple current US Senators:

Diaper boy is especially maddening as a senator. He was a horrible comedian and a bozo in the senate.

Judas H Priest !

Best to judge the guy on his platform, but a successful run at catering to the low rent end of the market aint of itself a qualification for high office ?

Love one of the comments on the Tube:

''what on God's green earth does Hank Jr. see in Kid Rock that would lower him to being on the same stage as that clown?''

Kid Rock would be the second biggest monkey wrench thrown into the self serving corrupted swamp that is Washington DC. We threw the biggest one in on November 8 2016.

I hope and pray the Kid opens the floodgates that flushes out every career piece of shit that infests that rotten city.

And people on here laugh when a commoner runs for public office.
Legislating shouldn't be so convoluted. They've made it so as to cause people to thinks it's above them.
I give old Fanak a break because he's a Limey, and he makes some really great points that make me think.

But you are 100% correct. Our "lawmakers" are a freaking joke and it's about time more people learn that. I think more are waking up every day. Our so called lawmakers don't even write the shit lobbyists pay them to vote for.
The lobbyists write it and pay their traitors in the house and senate to promote it. It has really gotten that bad.

The reason that there is damn near nothing going through the "republican" house and senate these past few months is because President Trump isn't going to sign anything written by the lobbyists. It's that simple.

So the mcconnells, ryans, paul's and cruz's just sit around grandstanding, obstructing and self promoting. Without their owners handing them shit laws to pass there is nothing for them to do.

Things like this can be good. After all a government for, of and by the people should be include a cross section of its productive society.
I'm not for term limits. Voting in unconventional candidates we create the turnover that makes lobbying unpredictable and costly.

Trump got all the media and is still getting it. I would love to see one of those creatures that spout off about how bad #45 is throw their hat into the ring. I give Kid credit for putting his words into actions.

You forgot Chris Rock. He mouths off on politics, quite a lot. Also, Dummer'naboxaRocks, Nancy Pelosi.

Dumb or clever, take your pick. I don't trust his "commoner" image and rebel rhetoric. He made it big with the Hollywood elites didn't he?

Our so called lawmakers don't even write the shit lobbyists pay them to vote for.
It's worse than even that. They don't even read it before voting.
...and really, that'd be the quickest way to slow this crap down. Ie: require the f'ers read every word of every bit of Legislation proposed prior to any votes being cast. With the 1000+ page Bills that go through Congress, all they'd have time to do is read. Maybe end up with one vote per year. lol

His rich lawyer father kicked him out.

He moved to the ghetto and started making music. Worked hard enough to get a break and made it big with hybridized music.

There were hard times in the ghetto.

I really don't have a problem with him and wouldn't at all mind if he won but it still looks like Idiocracy to me.

Make them read it and then test them on it, to be sure they've read it and comprehend what they've read. Don't pass the test, you don't get to vote. Many of them won't even pass the test, ever, so they won't be able to vote.

Elizabeth Warren Panicked Fundraising Email: Kid Rock Senate Run No ‘Joke’

Getty/Getty

by DANIEL NUSSBAUM14 Jul 2017186

Sen. Elizabeth Warren signed on to a fundraising email Friday warning Democrats not to take lightly the prospect of a Michigan Senate run by musician Kid Rock.
“I know a lot of people are thinking: this is some sort of joke, right?” the Massachusetts senator wrote in a fundraising email with the subject line, “Senator Kid Rock (R-MI),” according to the Boston Herald. “Well, maybe this is all a joke — but we all thought Donald Trump was joking when he rode down the escalator at Trump Tower and announced his campaign, too.”

“And sure, maybe this is just a marketing gimmick for a new album or tour — but we all thought Donald Trump was just promoting his reality show, too,” she added.

The senator’s email comes after Rock — real name Robert James Ritchie — posted a link to a new campaign website, kidrockforsenate.com, on his Twitter account Wednesday.

In a follow-up post on his website Thursday, the 46-year-old Romeo, Michigan, native said his announcement was “not a hoax,” and took a shot at both incumbent Michigan Sen. Debbie Stabenow and the media, whom he said “once again” were “wrong” about his potential candidacy.

According to the Herald, Warren’s email linked to a fundraising page in which the proceeds are split between Stabenow’s 2018 campaign and Warren’s own re-election effort.

Rock has not yet filed a statement of candidacy with the Federal Election Commission. But the “Born Free” singer wrote in his Facebook post that he planned to release new music during his campaign, similar to how politicians release books during their own campaigns.

Stabenow responded to Rock’s announcement on her personal Twitter account Wednesday.

“I know we both share a love of music. I concede he’s better at playing guitar and I’ll keep doing what I do best: fighting for Michigan,” she wrote.

Rock responded directly to Stabenow using her own language in his Facebook post Thursday.
