Tonight at 9:00 Eastern time they say they'll dump the goods.

As much as I hate to even surf past their channel, it might be worth a look.

It should backfire on them because everyone admires someone who can win the unwinnable. All he needs to do is convince us that we can legally get away with what he did too.

Rachel Maddow Claims To Have Donald Trump’s Private IRS Tax Returns…
Posted on March 14, 2017 by sundance
(link to tweet)

Publicity stunt – Criminal action, or Both?

Concerned Virginian says:
March 14, 2017 at 8:57 pm
Internal Revenue Manual – 11.3.2
“Disclosure to Persons with a Material Interest”

WHAT “material interest” does Rachel Maddow have in securing ANY tax return from Donald Trump? WHAT procedure did she go through with the IRS, following this manual, to obtain the tax return? WHAT questions did the IRS employees she contacted (assuming she did, instead of obtaining the return ILLEGALLY) ask her to verify that she has a “material interest”?
It seems to me that Rachel Maddow has probably committed a felony. LOCK HER UP.

and the organization chieftains,

this is way past journalism,

there is no requirement for a citizen to release tax returns to run for potus,

that without his consent, this is illegal by multiple persons, and the exposure by a pretend journalist cannot be allowed to hide behind the First

As BB and I have discussed, the First does not give anyone the right to trample another person, it only allows you to voice your opinion against .gov, and they can take it under advisement.

That is all it does.

I suffered through about 5 minutes of the cow's opening soliloquy but could take no more. Got the scoop instead from other sources online.

Pretty innocuous really and just 2 pages from the 2005 1040. My guess is that Trump cherry picked the one year he wanted to reveal, and stuffed it in MSNBC's mailbox so they would all make fools of themselves slobbering over one another. Worked like a charm.

Trump DID pay tax: White House fury as Donald Trump's tax returns are leaked showing that President made $150million and paid $38million to the government in 2005
  • They were leaked to journalist David Cay Johnston, who gave them to Maddow
  • The White House accused her of violating the law in a desperate lunge for ratings
  • But it's not illegal to receive documents and First Amendment protects reporting
  • Trump made $253m, but wrote off $103m as losses, so had an income of $150m
  • He paid $5.3m in regular federal income tax, a rate of less than 3.5%
  • He also paid $31m in 'alternative minimum tax' - something he wants to ban
  • The White House said he paid $38m in income but the rest was payroll taxes
  • Documents are stamped 'client copy' leading to speculation Trump leaked them
  • DNC said White House confirmation shows it can release info on Trump's taxes
  • Trump had previously said he couldn't because of an ongoing IRS audit
  • DNC suggested that he's holding back because he owes money to Russians

VAN JONES: If All We Got Tonight Is That Trump Paid $38M in Taxes, It’s a Good Night for Trump (VIDEO)

Jim Hoft Mar 14th, 2017 11:12 pm 75 Comments

Hah-Hah!
Rachel Maddow and MSNBC hoped to destroy President Trump tonight and forever frame him as a rich white hypocrite who never paid his “fair share” in taxes.

Instead she is the laughingstock of social media.
Forever tainted with the hoax of the decade — Trump’s taxes!

Rachel Maddow’s career committed suicide live on national TV tonight https://t.co/nYMKjC8PDf

— Legal Insurrection (@LegInsurrection) March 15, 2017

Thanks to MSNBC we now know that Trump paid a higher tax rate that Obama, MSNBC and Bernie Sanders.

Van Jones summed it up nicely.

Via Mike Cernovich:

“Here’s the reality. If all we tonight is that Donald Trump paid $38 million to America’s government, that’s a good night for Donald Trump. I’m sorry. I was really hoping and praying that it would show that not only did he pay no taxes but he charged the government and got money back, but there’s nothing I could get excited about here.

It was a rough night for Trump-haters.

Oops! MSNBC Reveals Trump Paid 25% Tax Rate – Socialist Bernie Sanders Paid 13% Tax Rate
Jim Hoft Mar 14th, 2017 9:03 pm 142 Comments

MSNBC released Donald Trump’s 2005 tax forms tonight.
Trump paid a higher rate than Socialist Bernie Sanders.

Businessman Donald Trump paid $38 million on $150 million in income in 2005 or roughly 25% of his earned income.
Socialist Bernie Sanders paid only 13% according to his 2014 tax returns.

Trump Paid Almost TWO TIMES THE RATE Bernie Was Paying!

In an ironic twist, it was thirty one years ago this week Geraldo revealed........his defining moment. 'Vaulting' himself to be crowned king of the jackasses.

But no Rachel, you did good.....really. Form 1040 cover page..that's not bad. The important thing is, you tried, and learned something.

Trump fires back at 'fake news' MSNBC broadcast and blasts Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter 'who nobody ever heard of' for surfacing his 2005 tax return – after journalist hints the president may have leaked it himself
  • Journalist David Cay Johnston said an unknown person sent him the top two pages from Trump's 2005 IRS return
  • Trump blasted him in a tweet as someone 'who nobody has ever heard of'
  • Johnston gave them to MSNBC's Rachel Maddow; White House accused her of violating the law in a desperate lunge for ratings and Trump called it 'fake news'
  • Trump made $253 million that year but wrote off all but 150 million as a loss carried over from a previous year
  • He paid $5.3 million in regular federal income tax and another $31 million in 'Alternative Minimum Tax' – something he wants to ban
  • Documents are stamped 'client copy' leading to speculation Trump leaked them
  • Johnston fueled that fire Wednesday morning on CNN

I think this is how it is going to go for the fading fake news monarchy. Stupid over hyped nothing stories leading to nothingburgers. The rest of the fake news upper crust is currently fanning themselves, experiencing vapors and spewing outrage over Sec of state Tillerson.
Sec Tillerson is going to Asia on a work trip and is not taking a huge airplane and allowing the press to fly, eat and drink on the taxpayer dime like the last sec of states did. He's taking a small plane and one press person.

Mr Tillerson is a former CEO of a huge successful international corporation and not a fucking peacock, he is a man who is here to do a job not feed, house and pose for pictures with the self styled press elite.

Breath of fresh air, some of these new folks are.

Possession of stolen property is not protected by the First Amendment, particularly when it is known to be ill gotten property.

But it's not illegal to receive documents and First Amendment protects reporting
The First Amendment does not override the Fourth Amendment, particularly when theft is involved !

I'm keeping an eye open for "DECEASED" and "RETURN TO SENDER" stamps. Could be useful for all sorts of undesirable mail...
Reminds me of the time I decided to do something similar. I got tired of the junk mail so I printed up a buncha labels that said "No longer here - deceased" stuck 'em on the junk stuff and started dumping them back in the mailbox. Pretty soon the mail dropped off. Then, almost ceased.

Concerned, I went to the post office to see why I wasn't getting mail any more. The clerk investigates, then come back and says "That address says 'deceased' we've been sending the mail back."

oops :D

On a side note, I think we need a flat tax with no carry over from previous years, no deductions, and abolish the IRS. Or at least gut the IRS severely.

Easier said than done. The "Code" is thousands and thousands of pages long and includes such obscure things as "Chinese students studying or training in the US may exempt up to $5000 of income earned while actively in school or training from Federal Income Tax through a special agreement with China". We have tax agreements with other countries in the code. Not as easy as it seems.

It is a nightmare and even those of us who know it (sort of) and can figure it out if we don't, have interpretation issues that get resolved in tax court.

Everybody and every business pays 15% and nobody writes anything off.
Not seeing anything too difficult except it would work just fine and DC can't have that.

I've a SIL that is a CPA and a bro that is working on getting an accountancy degree. I can understand why the guy that is half the age of the other would want to get into that business. But seeing what is involved and the hours my SIL works I am confounded why my brudder would be getting into that. Guess he wants a challenge.

Breaking: Trump’s Private Legal Team Weighing Case Against MSNBC and Reporter David Johnston

Jim Hoft Mar 16th, 2017 1:18 pm 158 Comments

Donald Trump’s private legal team is weighing a case against MSNBC and reporter David Johnston for leaking his 2005 tax forms on television this week.

As reported earlier Rachel Maddow stepped on a rake earlier this week by releasing Trump’s 1040 tax return form from 2005.

Rachel’s attempted hit piece enlightened the country that President Trump paid millions in taxes; he paid a higher tax rate than Socialists Barack Obama and Bernie Sanders.

The Hill, which is no friend of President Trump, reported last night that what Rachel did may be illegal – “Disclosing a taxpayer’s information without consent IS ILLEGAL.”

Now this…
Donald Trump’s private legal team is weighing a case against MSNBC and reporter David Johnston who fed the documents to Rachel Maddow.

Oops! Congressman Refers to Rachel Maddow as ‘Sir’ During Live Broadcast (VIDEO)

Cristina Laila Mar 16th, 2017 3:10 pm 61 Comments

Congressman Bill Pascrell was finishing up an interview with Rachel Maddow when he accidentally said ‘Thank you, sir’ as he was signing off. This is just not Ms. Maddow’s week!

Rachel Maddow: “Congressman, thanks for being with us tonight sir.”

Congressman: “Thank you, sir…uh I mean ma’am”

Rachel Maddow: “It’s alright, I answer to both (awkward laugh) it’s actually quite convenient in unexpected places…you’d be surprised. We’ll be right back..”

This is just not Rachel Maddow’s week. She fell flat on her face when she revealed Trump’s 1040 tax form the other night showing he paid millions in taxes at a higher rate than Obama and Sanders.

At least she had a sense of humor about being referred to as ‘sir’, but it made me cringe watching…

I am around women 5 or more hours a day at work. I don't care if they have a black eye and half their hair is gone I never say a flippin' word about their appearance. Many times I would like to in a friendly or positive way, but never do. Women are all crazy and possibly dangerous.

I can see it now. "Good morning Stephanie your hair looks great today"

"Are you saying it looked horrible yesterday???" "That's what you mean isn't it???"
