Maine Governor goes on a tirade against a Democratic rep, calling him a 'c***sucker' and challenging him to a duel a day after coming under fire for 'racially insensitive' comments
  • Maine Republican Gov Paul LePage delivered his comments at a townhall in North Berwick on Wednesday
  • They came after a businessman asked how he could bring a company to Maine 'given the rhetoric you put out there about people of color'
  • LePage, who is white, said he keeps a binder of photos from drug busts, and said the majority of the mugshots are of 'black and Hispanic people'
  • At the same meeting, he also said Khizr Khan, the father of a dead Muslim US Army captain, is a 'con artist'
  • Following his comments, LePage unleashed a tirade on Rep Drew Gattine of Westbrook
  • He left Gattine a voicemail message that said 'I am after you'
  • He then told reporters he wished it were 1825 so he could challenge the lawmaker to a duel and point a gun between his eyes

If two politicians enter and only one politician leaves, that sounds good to me.

How about Trump's daughter vs. what's her name the Klintoon kid in a cage fight to the death, with a prize of POTUS for the winner's parent, and the lion's den for the loser's family, their entire entourage, and support base.

That would tidy things up nicely, and I would even volunteer for a slot on the cleanup crew.

Maine Governor Paul LePage Crazy Voicemail; Challenges Democratic Rep to a Duel (REACTION)
Anthony Brian Logan

Published on Aug 28, 2016
Maine's Governor, Paul LePage, left a crazy voicemail directed at a Democrat Representative who allegedly called him a racist. In said voicemail, LePage told the rep to record the mail and make it go public, because he wanted people to hear what he was saying. LePage then later challenged him to a duel, olden style, saying he would put it "right between his eyes." A funny diatribe, but also very serious. Being called a racist if you're a white person is like being called a rapist. It's a scarlet letter. It is the equivalent to being called an uncle Tom or a "race traitor" if you are a black person.

The allegations of racism against Paul LePage come on the heels of statements he made a few months ago about the origin of the drugs that are coming into the state of Maine. LePage, as the Governor of Maine, obviously has a dog in the fight against drugs. The statements in the past basically outlines how drugs get in Maine and what happens to people in the state as a result. He said something along the lines of "the guys bringing in drugs are guys named Smoothie and Shifty... they come from New York... and the worst part is that they impregnate a young white girl before they leave... which is the real sad part because that's another problem that has to be dealt with later." Those are not the exact words he used, but in paraphrasing, the point remains the same.

In some type of city council meeting or town hall, a reporter asked him about the aforementioned comments, and he doubled down. This time, with new evidence. LePage says that he has been keeping a record in the form of a 3 ring binder that has pictures of drug arrests since the infamous Smoothie / Shifty comments were made. He says that 90% of the people in the binder are black or hisapanic ... and they mostly come from Waterbury, Connecticut, the Bronx, and Brooklyn. This prompted the Democrat Rep, Drew Gattine, to say that his comments were racially charged, which Paul LePage either interpreted, or was told as, Gattine labeling him a racist.

The end result is not much more than a basic dustup, something that seems to help LePage who has actually labeled himself "Donald Trump before Donald Trump was popular." The people of Maine seem to like him ... so there won't be ay other fallout from it. The charges of racism are misplaced if facts back up his statements. Maybe less energy should be invested in witch hunts, and more of it should be invested on keeping the Smoothie and Shiftys of the world away from Maine with their drugs.
