Making a new generator cord

20 amp 5k 6250 Peak watts, I know 20 calls for #12 but im going to use #10 to minimize Voltage drop, cord only going to be around 10 foot, was going to use solid vs stranded, any thoughts on this? Also was thinking of running exhaust pipe to it and running it in garage, has anyone tried this? Was thinking of the flex tail pipe

Stranded if you're going to be moving it around much. Solid if it is hard wired. For 10 feet, #12 would carry most of anything you could operate using that generator.
