While this list may be a little too sensitive, it goes to the guy's careless comments, if they warned him they were probably mild ones.

NBC News announced on November 29 that it fired Today host Matt Lauer after “a detailed complaint” was filed about "inappropriate sexual behavior that took place during the 2014 Sochi Olympics.” The complaint also noted that Lauer’s “alleged behavior continued in the workplace after the games.” Lauer has a well-documented history of disturbing and sexist behavior that should have served as a warning sign to management long before this recent investigation took place. Here are just a few examples:

  1. According to The New York Times Magazine, Lauer was part of “the boys’ club atmosphere behind the scenes” at Today, which Curry said “undermined her from the start” and was partially responsible for pushing her out in 2013.

  2. In 2012, former Today host Katie Couric told Andy Cohen that Lauer’s most “annoying” trait was that he “pinch[ed] me on the ass a lot.”

  3. In 2006, according to video footage on TMZ, Lauer told Meredith Vieira to "Keep bending over like that. It's a nice view," during a commerical break.

  4. According to HuffPost, Lauer acted incredibly skeezy during a 2014 interview with then-18-year-old skier Mikaela Shiffrin.

  5. In a 2012 interview with actress Anne Hathaway, Lauer started off by discussing a wardrobe malfunction of hers, telling Hathaway he had “seen a lot of you lately.”

  6. Lauer, then in his late 40s, told singer Kelly Clarkson that she had a “hot new look.” When Clarkson, who was in her early 20s at the time, responded by asking “I have a hot new look?” Lauer replied, “Well, I'm back from vacation and you got my attention, I'll tell you that.”

  7. During an interview with Pippa Middleton, Lauer focused on the “very flattering” dress she wore to her sister’s wedding and the way it fit her, saying, “I thought it was the best of British pomp and circumstance.”

  8. During an interview with Lauer earlier this year, actor Corey Feldman discussed child molestation in Hollywood, including his own experience of abuse. In response, Lauer questioned Feldman’s culpability in the matter, asking why he didn’t come forward sooner: “Why are you sitting down talking to me? Why aren’t you sitting down with the police right now?” Feldman replied, “I’m the victim here. I’m the one who’s been abused. I’m the one who’s trying to come forward and do something about it.”

  9. During a 2008 “roast” of Lauer, he misogynistically joked about sleeping with his former co-hosts Katie Couric and Ann Curry, asking, “What’s with all the small-dick jokes? It was fun to look over and see Ann Curry laughing … like she doesn’t know how big my dick really is.”

  10. In 2012, Lauer was part of an incredibly distasteful mockumentary on sexual harassment at Today, where he said he was the “real victim” after co-host Willie Geist jokingly touched him inappropriately.

  11. In a 2014 sketch, Lauer pretended to flash his colleagues, urging his female colleagues to “drink it in, ladies.”

  12. In September, Lauer, who reportedly had notable influence over which stories appeared on Today, interviewed serial sexual predator Bill O’Reilly, giving him a platform to attack a woman who had reported him for harassment and deny knowledge about the multiple settlements he’d reached for misconduct.

  13. During an interview with GM chief executive Mary Barra in 2014, Lauer asked her if she thought she could do a good job at being both a high-powered executive and a mother.

  14. During a 2015 interview with musician Adele, Lauer questioned whether she was “concerned at all that now, with the explosion of this album, that you're going to have to get back on that career treadmill and have less time to dedicate” to her young son.

  15. During a national security forum during the 2016 presidential campaign, Lauer “behaved toward the presidential candidates in a way that was consistent with much of the research about gender stereotypes and discrimination,” according to the Harvard Business Review. Specifically, Lauer “interrupted Clinton more often than Trump, asked her more challenging questions, and questioned her statements more often.”

  16. During the same forum, Lauer failed to push back on then-candidate Donald Trump’s assertion that is was “correct” to claim that rape should be “expected” when men and women both serve in the military.

  17. While reporting on the 2016 Olympics in Rio, Lauer referred to Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen as one of Brazil’s “most recognizable exports.”

A lot of that stuff just sounds like chicks searching for excuses to be offended. Telling a chick she's nice scenery is harassment? lol I thought that's what women were after when they paint their faces and dress as suggestively as possible.

For a horribly oppressive patriarchy it sure seems like men are taking on a whole lot of risk interacting with women these days.

Not defending the creep, but it is a crime to ask a professional woman or a hot pop star if it interferes with being a mother to her children?

It is also a crime to not challenge Donald Trump's assertion about rape and the military? Really?

During the same forum, Lauer failed to push back on then-candidate Donald Trump’s assertion that is was “correct” to claim that rape should be “expected” when men and women both serve in the military.

Trump's just stating a fact. Does anybody think that there have been less rapes of women in the military as the numbers of them go up and they are forced to be in close quarters such as combat zones, on ships, etc?

For example, before Clinton's don't ask/don't tell policy about homosexuals, I had never heard of a male/male rape in any unit I was in.
After it took effect, two cases in 7th ID, followed by three cases in my INFANTRY battalion in Panama.

Geez, I'm happy Lauer went down for reasons of my own, but some of this crud is just stupid. So not being politically correct and even questioning Murphy Brown if she can be a good mother and career woman is a "sexual abuse" problem? Really?

These are situations where if the women all had guns concealed on their persons they could even the playing field. That, plus drawn out at a propitious moment, pressed up against the sleazebag's chest with a suitable warning, would end this plague of bad behavior. Plus saying the right thing, whether "hasta la vista baby", "I'm taking you down", "I own you now"; "If you do that again, you're history!" etc. with the drawn gun, would get the message across pronto!

A quick prediction, this chilling of even harmless affectionate touching, hugging, pats on the back, etc., is going to leave people very frustrated. You're going to have to get the other party to sign a permission slip specifying what can and cannot be done. Auto eroticism mushrooms in a tense, uptight, fearful society. I've heard in Europe our repressed emotions and affections are rare things. You can go up to pretty women in parts across the Atlantic and ask if they want to have sex without getting beaten up emotionally.

They're being weaponized to replace the ray-cis claims...which no longer work. Leftists never win arguments on facts so they need these bs tactics to hold onto power.

Women don't appreciate being objectified, so they're objectifying themselves to stop men from objectifying them. It kinda makes the head spin.

Why is there no pushback against the weaponization of women? At some point the elastic will snap and the backlash against the feminazis will be swift and certain!

There will be. It just takes time. Although women tend to dislike one another, they temporarily ban together if they perceive an attack on a "sister". Further it's written in men's genetic code to protect women, so men that are perceived to be victimizing women get crucified. ...but that only goes so far. By weaponizing women the leftists are also endangering women because people will tire of this shit and will begin to ignore charges of sexual misconduct. They just won't mean anything...which will be great if you're a sexual predator.

While I'm waiting for justice to prevail I'll give all women a wide berth and only interact with the few of them that have earned my trust. The rest can go fark themselves as I no longer have a need for more vaginas in my life

I can certainly understand that perspective and don't blame you one bit. I think there are a significant numbers of women that are waking up to the fact that they're being used to break down society, but again it's a very slow process and many a man is being destroyed in the meantime.

There are ways men could fight back; take pictures of provocative women, video damning actions by toxic women, etc.. I get a little tired of smelling menstruating women in public areas, too bad there aren't technologies to identify noisome and smelly women. They should be told to go home and come back when their period is over. Jews and other traditional cultures have rules like that.

Yeah, I saw someone suggest on a utube that college campus men should have coeds signing contracts saying they consent to sex, but even then there were credible suggestions that women could claim they'd changed their minds or "had regrets" later and the men would still be open to disciplinary action. It must truly suck to be a kid today.

Women lie and the courts back them up. Those contracts aren't worth the paper they're printed on

Because nothing brings romantic flourish to a boil like whipping out a contract just as things are heating up.

Where do I find a notary at 2:30 am? Is there an app for that?

If the encounter were filmed with certain confidentiality rules on distribution the participants wouldn't be able to sue. I guess that's what keeps porn from leading to lawsuits, as in the case of Paris Hilton et al.

Gentlemen, as men with integrity and grit, I greatly respect you. You should not, however paint those of us of the female gender with such a broad brush. I have seen my share of boorish men with their suggestive comments and overt innuendos. If you have good female mentors, you know how to shut it down with humor and class. That said, I know there are a whole slew of women out their making us look bad, scary, vindictive, mean, clueless, air-headed, materialistic, angry, man-hating, add your favorite "B word" here.

While I have met a few "toxic" women in my life, we are not all that way and I personally am related to some of the most admirable, faithful and honest women anyone could ever meet.

I know men pretty well and I know women pretty well and neither gender corners the market on morality or integrity. If you choose to go into politics you choose a glass house. Male or Female. Who looks into the windows may vary by party.

This particular thread has kind of turned into a "woman bashing" thread. I understand some of you may have had bad experiences. So have I. Including being married to someone who sat on my chest, hit me in the face and broke my nose while saying "what do you know, you're just a woman".

So guys, if you have ever "liked" my posts, read my posts, actually were interested in anything I had to post, please understand that while I enjoy this forum as a "safe place", you do sometimes over generalize and make me feel less than welcome here.

Sincerely and with great respect,

Agave

There are good women out there. I married one. Our 35th is this weekend. That said the cancer of "radical feminist chic" has metastasised in American society and as member the shootist said above, this is not going to end well. Check out the "man-o-sphere" yet? It's gone ugly already. In fact it has gone too far already and it won't be returning to what used to pass for normal.

It's true, women no longer need men. Uncle Sugar gives them all the support they need. Welfare, whatever they demand in a divorce, alimony, child support that rarely does much of anything for the kids...women are totally supported by their Uncle Sugar. So men are no longer needed to provide for women. Don't even need a penis to have children, just trot on down to the sperm bank and get a seed inserted.

Yes, some men are totally guided by their little head, as you say...boorish. Some men are quite lazy. Then again, what incentive do they have to find and support a woman? Where are those jobs for men? Unless they want to be a burger flipper or a greeter at WallyWorld there just ain't a whole lot out there, at least nothing that will pay enough to support a wife let alone a family. Sure, these guys could go spend thousands of dollars getting an education to get into a higher income bracket but, really, to what end? To have a wife and kids who will dispose of him in favor of some perceived better opportunity and have all that he worked for stripped from him by the courts? Such arrangements and relationships are simply unwise any more. Why take the risk? I never thought I would say this but nowadays hookers and blow IS the least risky path for men. Not trying to be a smartass or anything remotely close to that. I am quite serious. Women think they can run the world and forge a newer and brighter future? Well have at it. Then when government collapses and the women lose their Uncle Sugar's support, good luck mending things with the men whose lives have been ruined if you can even find a real man by then who is heterosexual and would like to have a serious relationship with a woman.

I hate expressing such a dark view, however, I must be a realist. What we call American society has, for all intents and purposes, already been dissolved. The only future left for this country and society is dissolution and to a wide extent desolation. The nuclear family has been nuked. The root of an actual family is a man and a woman who procreate, support one another as well as their offspring. Surely by now most all are aware of the declining birth rate in America and throughout what is broadly called western civilization. Yes, radical feminism has indeed made one hell of a HUGE impact. Now we all get the opportunity to share fully in the consequences. At this point I am rather glad that I have far fewer years in front of me than I have behind me.

Thanks for the post. You are correct.

Since I was married 30 years ago my contact with women in the sexual sense was no more.
Women in the workplace was seen as a danger area to me. Many people spend a lot more "awake time" with co-workers than spouse. Not good, but the way it is. Personally, I never thought hugging in the workplace was good. Flirting is a big danger area. I had a couple of rules - would my wife or mother approve of my remarks to a woman? Would I like someone speaking to my wife in this manner at work? Bottom line, keep it professional. In the Army when I had female students I made sure to never ever be alone with them, period.

My point is that most women are fine, but the occasional bad one can destroy your life as a man [in the workplace]. I am sure it is much the same for women, a harassing man can make work hell.

You've earned your stripes and the respect of everyone here Agavegirl1. It's not like we're liberals here and have lost our minds. We're simply annoyed. You're part of our group and during my time here I've not seen any instance where your gender has had any bearing on how you're treated.

Unfortunately the country and the world has changed and many folks are frustrated to the point of blindly lashing out at the nonsense we're seeing out there and the way unscrupulous people are leveraging their gender to destroy lives. People are actually dying as a result of the shit we're witnessing being done by some of these women.

In the fairly recent past simply being a women got you respect from most, if not all gentlemen. (Not every man is a gentleman I know) Unfortunately the feminazis pretty much destroyed that for you gals Today a women needs to earn respect, just like a guy ... and you certainly have earned that here so rest easy and keep posting.

I'll leave you with this an example of why women are facing the backlash that they are. "It's only some women, not all" rings a bit hollow when women as a whole aren't outraged and remain silent when shit like this is being posted:

Matt Lauer scandal: Ex-intern describes their brief 'consensual' affair as predatory

Matt Lauer is gone from Today under a cloud of sexual misconduct allegations but he's still being attacked for philandering: On Thursday, an ex-intern detailed their secret month-long consensual affair 17 years ago as "the most powerful man at NBC" preying on a powerless young woman helpless to resist.

Addie Collins Zinone, now 41, is the first woman to allege misconduct by Lauer on the record. She told her story to Variety, describing how a newly married Lauer seduced her into sexual encounters in his dressing room, a bathroom and his office, equipped with the infamous button under his desk to lock the door.

Variety opined that Zinone's story "illustrates what can happen when a prominent person brings sex into the workplace, and there’s an imbalance of power."

Zinone acknowledged that her affair with Lauer was consensual and that she was an adult at the time, but she says she felt like "prey" and that it had a devastating and lasting effect on her personal and professional life.

She came forward, she said, to "validate" the stories of other women who have accused Lauer, all of them anonymously so far, "because some of our experiences are similar."

Moreover, she charged, NBC executives at the time had to know what he was up to because "there is no way he could have gotten away with it without others above him making these situations go away — manipulating, strategizing, whatever it is they did to wield their power against the powerless.

"He was the golden boy. His contract always got renewed for millions of dollars more, and he was the face of NBC. How is any woman supposed to go up against that?"

Lauer's representative and NBC News declined to comment to USA TODAY.

Lauer has previously quibbled about some of the details in the allegations against him that got him fired but acknowledged there was enough truth to make him ashamed and he apologized. When he was fired last month after a single complaint of sexual misconduct, the network said current management had never heard of any formal complaints about Lauer's behavior.

What Zinone describes is not sexual harassment, assault, coercion or rape, but it does further undermine Lauer's reputation as a decent guy, happily married and an upstanding TV journalist and host.

"Even though my situation with Matt was consensual, I ultimately felt like a victim because of the power dynamic," Zinone said. "He went after the most vulnerable and the least powerful — and those were the production assistants and the interns.

"He understood that we were going to be so flattered and so enthralled by the idea that the most powerful man at NBC News is taking any interest in us," she added.

Zinone joined Today in 1999 as an intern, a job Katie Couric helped her get, she said. At age 24, she was soon promoted to production assistant and then accepted a job as a local anchor at a station in her hometown in West Virginia.

With only weeks to go before she left, she said, Lauer, then in his 40s and two years into his marriage, began a heavy flirting campaign over the internal messaging system. Zinone said she was confused and overwhelmed by Lauer's attention. Then he invited her to lunch.

"He was there to hit on me and manipulate the situation, and I fell for it," she said.

That afternoon, they began their furtive affair, meeting in his dressing room. Over the next few weeks, they met several other times.

By the time she started her new job in West Virginia, she was a mess, she said, and the National Enquirer showed up in her driveway. When she asked Lauer for advice, he accused her of telling someone about their affair and "ghosted" her.

"I had no idea there were other women out there," she said. "To wake up one day and hear my story in the accounts of the other victims is one of the most surreal experiences I’ve ever had."

She says the damage from her fling with Lauer has not been permanent: She quit her TV job, joined the Army, served two tours in Iraq as an Army journalist, worked on NBC's Access Hollywood, got married and is a mother of two.

She's still nervous about telling her story, and even though what happened with Lauer wasn't a crime, "It’s still not right. Matt took advantage of his power. It’s sickening."

"I’m putting my name and face out there to squash any doubts about the allegations from other women against Matt Lauer. ... I want these women to know that I believe them, I want to help empower them, and collectively, we have a voice to change things. I have a 7-year-old daughter. I want to do everything I can to assure this doesn’t happen to her."

Egads what a hideous creature. Frankly I have more respect for Matt than this disgusting jackal. "Oh poor pitiful me." "I was such a precious young flower and Matt took advantage of that."

Translation...he dumped me and I'm still pissed about it. Does Addie require a definition of the word "consensual"? She's essentially saying she should have been treated like a damn child and wasn't responsible for her own actions.
