Ive got blue medicare classic HMO, its no cost to me and includes drugs, only pain is no good outside fl unless emergency and you have to get referral to see specialist and that takes up to 2 weeks, I had started to go to cleveland clinic for Median arcuate ligament syndrome and had to go from doctor to doctor , took from april till end of july to get surrgery with weeks waiting for everone to get their authorization from bcbs, thinking of switching to united healthcare plan n cost 142 a month , anyone have that one?

As long as you don’t need much more than routine doc visits and Rx, my mom and MIL both liked the BCBS Advantage plan. However two things: first make sure whatever meds you take are not only on the plan’s formulary but in an affordable tier. Also if you ever have to be hospitalized or short term nursing rehab BCBS will do everything possible to avoid approving those claims in my experience. Of course if you are in an institution like that you can change your plan to whatever to be effective the following month. Had to do that with mom following her emergency appendectomy as BCBS wouldn’t approve the nursing care rehab...switched to regular Medicare instead at that time.

Could be mistaken but I think all the Medicare plans are like that regarding coverage “outside your area”.
