I really don't remember how long state governors have had dictatorial power.
Could someone refresh my memory on when that legislation was passed?

Governor Gretchen Hitler has been milking two misguided Michigan "laws" from 1945 and 1976 allegedly granting her dictatorial powers during an "emergency". Then despite the MI state supreme kangaroo court voting 4-3 that she's out of control...nothing has been done to enforce any constraints upon her tyrannical emanations.

https://www.crainsdetroit.com/gover...st-whitmers-use-emergency-powers-law-pandemic

Of course, if you violate the MI supreme lieyer's "orders" you're immediately tossed into a rape cage, but the governor is WAY too important to have to comply. "Good for thee, but not for me." The supreme losers, the state police, and the governor are all traitors to the people of Michigan.

The law is called the Communist Manifesto.

This stupid, crazed woman WANTS a complete revolution - she's certain she and her ilk will triumph out of it.

I'm not sure she's wrong about that, especially given the hominids who live in Detroit.

What she's not thinking of, is, What-Then.

Either she and all those on her side of whatever demarcation lines exist, slowly starve...or/and, the REAL revolutionaries, ooze out from under the rocks they usually occupy and show her what Revolution is.

She wants a dynasty. She'll die nasty.

Sadly, we won't hear of it, because news is a commodity in a revolutionary war, and more so in a dictatorship.

Outranked by the Sheriff.

So contact Ingham county's sheriff and ask him why he didn't intervene when the state pigs were ordered to close the state capitol and prevent MI reps into the building on 12/14.

Part of Lansing is also the jurisdiction of Eaton and Clinton counties...so now you have to figure out which has jurisdiction over the capitol...though I suspect it's the man shown above.

The Sheriff needs to do what's necessary to and hold true to his oath!

Or the people can sit back, tolerate the commies and let their homes and businesses burn. It really is up to them in the end.

Absolutely. Total War. That's what absolutely frosts my 'nads about the current breed of "conservatives" - limited, pointless Endless War seems to be the preferred flavor.

War is an abomination and a horror. I say this as a military vet. It's the LAST thing you want to do; but sometimes there is no choice.

WHEN it is done...DO IT. No "Peace-keeping." No "Police Action." You either go to war, with ALL the might you can muster...or you do not.

As with dogs. You can tell when dogs are rough-housing and playing, as opposed to fighting. Dogs playing, bounce around and taunt each other. Dogs who are serious in the fight, come in fast, strike fast, and pull back or go for the kill.

I don't support Mogadishu-style civil war - it's a good way to get slaughtered, as much or more than slaughter, and will probably cost us freedom as well as numbers - but if we're going to shoot, lets not frig around.

When the Michigan Supreme Court ruled her actions unconstitutional and she kept on.....I'd like to know why the sheriff hasn't intervened?

He is betraying his oath to the US Constitution and the people of Michigan best I can tell. He deserves as good as she gets.
It's all been window dressing. The courts are corrupt and so is law enforcement. It's all got to be blown up!

Governor is the state's Chief Executive.

Sheriff only controls law enforcement in his county.

I don't think the Sheriff has authority over the Governor even in whatever county Lansing is in. More to the point, neither does the State Legislature (corrupt as they may be) or the State Police (which Michigan has and which may have arrest powers over an arrest the Sheriff may make which they deem is fraudulent).

That would be an ugly situation and not somewhere a professional LE would want to go. The PROPER answer here, is let lawyers sort that out, but NOT ENFORCE the insane, illegal lockdown in each sheriff's county.

I'm afraid this may be all that is left. When Court's refuse to do their jobs and settle disputes civilly then violence is pretty much guaranteed.

Thinking these duplicitous scourges are the reason things are as f'd as they are....

You don't need a specialist to explain to you the nuances of tyranny and authoritarianism.

F her, the lawyers AND the horse she road in on.

No.

But you can't expect the SHERIFF to run apeshit.

Any more than you can expect Private Butthead to charge ahead when his unit, ordered by the Army brass, ordered by the CinC, is told to pull back.

Whitmer slashes GOP Legislature's COVID-19 relief bill to $106M

Lansing — Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer on Tuesday signed a $106 million supplemental COVID-19 relief bill, but her line-item vetoes slashed more than three-quarters of the $465 million originally approved by the GOP-led Legislature.

Included in the line-item vetoes are roughly $220 million meant for the Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund, a pool of money that businesses to help finance benefits for workers. Whitmer on Tuesday called it a "giveaway" that benefited employers, even after the state has directed some tax breaks toward businesses.

"We have helped, but this went too far," Whitmer said. "…The funding that I vetoed has nothing to do with extending benefits.”

It was not immediately clear which other items vetoed by the governor made up the roughly $360 million cut in the supplemental spending. The signed bill including the line item vetoes was not made immediately available.

Gov. Whitmer wants kids back in classrooms by March 1
John Wisely
Detroit Free Press

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer said Friday it's now safe for K-12 students to return to classrooms even if COVID-19 caseloads remain high.
She set March 1 as a goal for schools across Michigan to offer some in-person learning and the state won't penalize schools that don't offer it.
"I strongly encourage districts to provide as much face-to-face learning as possible, and my administration will work closely with them to get it done,” Whitmer said in a statement. "As rapid testing access expands, we have even more tools to makes schools safer for students, educators and other staff."
More:Educators eager to receive COVID-19 vaccines
More:Michigan school districts have tough COVID-19 choice to make in January
The question of whether to offer face-to-face learning has vexed school districts across the state since the fall. Some districts have offered it at all grade levels, as have most private schools. Others have limited it to younger grades.

Some have yet to return kids to classrooms, prompting angry complaints from some parents who want it.
The state releases a list every Monday of virus outbreaks traced to schools and the numbers have fluctuated since September. Many districts that had been providing in-person learning switched to all remote after Thanksgiving because of increased virus cases in their communities, even if the cases weren't tied to schools.

Some of those districts are back now and others plan to return in coming weeks.
"Over the last 10 months, medical experts and epidemiologists have closely followed the data and have learned that schools can establish a low risk of transmission by ensuring that everyone wears a mask and adopting careful infection prevention protocols," Whitmer said.
Terry Prince, a father of two kindergartners, earlier launched a recall campaign that is pending against members of the Chippewa Valley School Board in Macomb County for not providing in-person learning. On Friday, Prince said Whitmer's decision was overdue.

"The numbers and data and science and all that they like to point out, has all indicated over the course of the past few months that the virus isn't being spread in the schools as long as you're having, you know, proper precautions," Prince said.
He said his daughters remain in remote learning and the district has a plan to return them to classrooms later this month, but the school hasn't yet approved the plan.
"It's still up to the local school boards to heed that notice and follow through with it," Prince said. "Whether or not they will do that remains to be seen."
Whitmer announced Monday that schoolteachers would be among the first people to receive COVID-19 vaccines, a decision that educators cheered.
Teachers have said they are eager to return to in-person learning, but they are also being cautious. Terrence Martin, president of the Detroit Federation of Teachers, said the union and the Detroit Public Schools Community District have agreed that the infection rate in the city must be below 5% before they would return to in-person learning.
"It's a goal that the governor has and we certainly respect that," Martin said. "Obviously, the governor is rolling out the vaccine for educators and education professionals next week, which is great. Hopefully, that will help to drive the numbers down, but we're going to be guided by that."
A group of educators, including teachers' unions, administrators, school boards and others, issued a joint statement expressing similar hopes and cautions.

"Containing the spread of this deadly disease was — and continues to be — job one, which is why we’ve supported the steps Gov. Whitmer and our state have taken to fight COVID-19," the statement said. "Combined with educators being up next for vaccination against the disease, it’s time to work together to plan how to safely reopen schools."
The push to return kids to classrooms comes with state recommendations to limit the possibility of spread, most of which schools have already been doing.
They include mandatory wearing of masks, except while eating and in other limited circumstances. The guidance also calls for social distancing, including a recommendation to divide students into cohorts to reduce the number of kids in a building at one time.
Other recommendations include adequate supplies of hand sanitizer, improvements to school ventilation systems, as well as having students and staffers screen themselves at home for things like fevers and coughs.
Not all schools have followed protocols. The Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration on Friday fined South Lake Public Schools in Macomb County $4,900 for:
  • Not developing an infectious disease preparedness and response plan that can guide protective actions against COVID-19
  • Not providing COVID-19 training to employees
  • Not conducting daily in-person or virtual health checks of employees before they entered the facility
  • Not having a written hazard communication program developed, implemented, and maintained
The citation came after an employee complaint prompted a MIOSHA inspection. Superintendent Ted VonHiltmayer did not return a message seeking comment on the violations.

The DFT's Martin noted that even if teachers and other staffers are ready to return to schools, class volumes will depend on families willing to send their kids to school.
"We have prominent people in the city of Detroit, family members in and around the city, that have died from this virus," Martin said. "It makes it very difficult for people to feel comfortable going back into a school building and being around people. That is still going to be a challenge for us all."

Who'd a thunk giving a tyrant discretionary emergency powers would lead to everything turning into an "emergency". Whatever the crazy marxist bat is doing to the U.P. it's surely not intended to help the little people there. The only thing Gretchen has been absolutely consistent on, is harming the rank and file with her drama queen emergency orders.

She is truly evil and following a script. She knows she was never elected governor and she knows Michigan voted 70 + % for Trump.

I dunno, I have been successfully ignoring politics since Jan 6 and there's no reason to look for news because it's all bullshit.

EDIT: The only news I get are top of the hour blurbs on the radio, m106.3

Last I'd heard, the tyrannical bitch used some legalese to ignore her own recall. Of course the state police don't give a shit about enforcing state law when it's their own queen breaking it. Same old same old two tiered criminal just-us system. The legislature aholes feign mock outrage, while rubber stamping everything spewed forth by whichever criminal is in the governor's mansion. It's DeeCee on a smaller scale.

Nothing will change unless and until the torches and pitchforks come out. Not enough Americans are going hungry yet for that to happen...not yet

Until then we deserve what we're willing to tolerate. It's as simple as that IMHO

Quoted for emphasis.

The DemoMarxists are on a roll, right now. They control enough judges to steamroll the legal process. They have coverts in enough states to control the balloting processes. And now they're busy drawing lines in the dirt, saying "Make me!"

Change within the system is now impossible. Only the actions of free men who recognize their rights as sovereign citizens are not liberties granted by nobility...only those actions will force changes.

This DOES NOT MEAN MINDLESS VIOLENCE. The credible threat of force must, repeat MUST be present; but it should be the hole card - used as a last measure, and knowing that its use may mean the cause is lost.

Patriots, if there are any, have to walk a fine line - instilling fear but not a complete pandemonium. The force of villagers with torches at the castle gates.
