Partisan hack, good riddance.

Usually you have a pretty good head on your shoulders and it's hard to take exception to most your posts. But, with that comment, I find it hard to believe that you ever listened to him at all because your comment is such a total mischaracterization as to indicate ignorance.

I seldom listened to him. But I will not speak ill of him.
RIP sir.

Exactly my position.

I have no axe to grind with Limbaugh; it's just as with so many other public performers, he continued on, well after it was time to pack it in. He'd lost his cutting-edge wit, well over 20 years ago. His principles were timeless; his commitment unshakeable; but he lost his roots - and its those beginnings that are what fuels wit, humor, insight.

I turned him off when it became apparent he was a party cheerleader, more than a conservative standard-bearer. Had he turned his program over to someone younger, the way Johnny Carson did, and ease the replacement...he, and the listeners, and possibly the nation, would all have been better.

But it was not to be.

For quite a number of years, before he died, Rush changed his party viewpoint so much he could have practically been a member of this forum. He wasn’t quite with us on everything, but listening to him sounded an awful lot like the members of GIM having a discussion on what was going on in America and the world at large. At the very least, Rush was waking up, like the folks at large were waking up and his monologues and discussions with callers reflected that. He was definitely no longer the Republican Party cheerleader he started out as. He was a DJT cheerleader, for sure, but so was I and I despise the rePukelicans. My opinion.

100% agree. The last vestige of R cheerleading was Rush’s advice to support the most Conservative candidate running.

This is the only dilemma in my view (let’s assume voting matters for the purpose of this discussion), our choice is pretend Rino vs. outright socialist in too many cases. Personally, after this last debacle I’m not voting for the Rino anymore. I’m taking zzzzzzzz’s advice and voting Libertarian or no one at all even if it’s a for sure losing candidate.

The R’s need to fold tent, go home, and count their grift like Scrooge McDuck

He came on about the time I was forming my political opinions. He broke through the liberal media barrier.

Part of Rush's success was that he started on AM radio a medium that most people had given up for dead. Rush literally flew under the left's radar. In fact, Rush was responsible for the band's revival. Back when Rush started, anyone who could pay the electric bill for a AM radio station got a license.

Waited a day to get my thoughts together. Lots of good points made here by everyone. I guess I had a love hate relationship. He pointed out a lot of things and was right but sense Perot I clearly saw what he didn't. The uniparty. I worked for Perot for 1 day when he said come on down and we will put you to work. I was in Dallas & had an extra day so I manned the phones. Gave me great insight into the early patriot mindset. Every caller was fed up with read my lips. I could not get interested in voting republican just because of the R when I could see they did nothing. At times I thought he was controlled opposition as he had followers but never anything put into ACTION. I would read the news & listen to see if he agreed with ME, not me with HIM. Sad to hear of his passing as it is with any old friend that you have spent so many hours with. I don't know what the future holds but the Rush Limbaugh show was Rush not someone taking his seat. It won't work. The best host I liked was Walter Williams. I would love for Trump to do the show for a week or two. Just because it would piss off the commie bastards that tried to silence him. Could you imaging Rush's 39 million double to 80 million listeners. Can already see the heads explode.

Good Speed Rush. You did something the best way you knew how and reached many people.

For 30+ years! Who else lasted that long? ....and if not sick he'd still be doing it.

What lib station has someone like that?....right, can't find sponsors for a show no one tunes into.

Let alone, Rush had sponsors who had pressure every step of the way not to sponsor his show and still did. Rush delivered customers to his sponsors that negated any leftist pressure. No left wing radio personality can claim that.

I would like to see that; but it's all about MONEY.

Limbaugh's organization is property. His widow is not going to be able to utilize it; that means it will be sold, either piecemail or as a set. Steyn is not bigly set up, money-wise; and he got financially raped five years ago with CRTV throwing his contract away. He built his own studio and hired personnel; and they left him hang. He almost had to go bankrupt.

That was, FWIW, another thing Limbaugh did. Guest-host spots pay; and Rush remembered his friends. So Mark had some work.

But now, he'd have to buy in. Not likely, unless he can get some conservative venture-capitalist to buy EIB and then hire him.

Not unlike the way Limbaugh himself got started; but that was 35 years ago.

Limbaugh’s wife may own the show but it can’t go on without a star and followers. I’d be looking sweat-equity. Steyn or whoever gets salary as an employee and percentage of the company. Otherwise the company value dies with Rush, you’re right though, it’s hers to do what she wants

I gave your post a like just for your idea to have DJT host the show for a couple of weeks. That would give the commies a conniption fit, as well as explode a few heads. I imagine The Donald has a few things he would like to say. And if anybody could afford to buy the show, I guess he could. If he plans to start a media empire, might that be a good beginning?

I have no agenda here. I'd love to see Steyn come out on top - on merit, he deserves it.

But money talks and bullschitt walks.

Is it just me or did the msm go overboard? They talked about his 4 marriages, no kids, drug addiction like his death is the end of conservatism.

Of course they did.

These slimebuckets cannot control themselves.

But, in the context, that's fine. This just reminds us of what they are.

We KNEW what Limbaugh was. Warts and all.

Now we know of the honor, or lack, of the former media, now party-propaganda outlets.

Rush got addicted to opioids before it became popular. It's an easy thing to do.

Ostroushko suffered a stroke in 2018, which ended his playing career.

Partisan hack.

You won't get any disagreement from me.

Paul is a proponent of Austrian (classical) Free Market economics, and that's good. But he didn't create the school of thought; and there are far-better advocates out there. Some of them even love America, or at least don't reflexively damn America every time some towelhead commits atrocities.

I put his Limbaugh-bashing right there with his America-bashing and his Joo-bashing. These tell us far more about Paul than about the objects of his contempt.

Dr. Ron Paul rocks, I may not agree with every single thing he says, but he was the only honest Congressman we ever had....till those who must not be named got the Rinos to eliminate his district.

Is he honest about the United States, age 240, being responsible for the twelve centuries of Moslem bloodshed?

He believes his own bilge, I grant him that; but integrity to his own delusions is not enough to recommend him to me.

He did a lot of public navel-gazing in 2001, about why "they" hate "us" so much.

But Ron Paul never read the Q'oran. I have read bits and pieces of it - there is a lot in there about Kill-The-Infidel; how; and when; and when it is permissible to let him live for a time.

They hate us because they hate. They're programmed to hate; and it is not just the US they hate. They hate everyone not Moslem and even the five or so sects, hate each other and kill each other when no one else is handy.

Bash RON all YOU WANT BUT HE’s smart enough to have his wealth nearly all in gold and incorruptible.

How many long term congressmen do you know with only 6 million
