Scott Hall aka Razor Ramon dead at 63. Fell at home, broke his hip, went in for surgery. Had three heart attacks during the surgery. Placed on a respirator and kept alive until family could arrive and decided to pull the plug:

Representative Don Young died today at 88. Longest “serving” congressman. He was up for re-election this year and I was looking forward to his losing. He lost me when he voted for TARP in 2008.
He had just proudly co-sponsored a bill to seize Russian “oligarch’s” yachts in us waters, and as a republican, had just voted in favor of the spending. Public sentiment was REALLY turning against him.

The one thing I recently liked was his calling covid the “beer virus” and not being scared of it. His democrat supporters didn’t like him for that, nor his arrogance.

RINO

Rep. Don Young, longtime Alaska congressman, dies at 88

From the article....

In 1972, Young was the Republican challenger to Democratic U.S. Rep. Nick Begich. Three weeks before the election, Begich’s plane disappeared on a flight from Anchorage to Juneau. Alaskans reelected Begich anyway.

Begich was declared dead in December 1972, and Young won a close special election in March 1973. Young held the seat until his death.
He was running for reelection this year against a field that included one of Begich's grandsons, Republican Nicholas Begich III.

Sounds a lot to me like how Hillary got her seat in the Senate representing NY after JFKj was lost in a plane crash! I'll bet that's where The Hag got the idea!

The only good politician is a dead one because dead politicians don't lie and can't take away freedoms with the raise of their cold, dead hand!

George Soros mourns Madeleine Albright

Soros & Albright.jpg

The billionaire Open Society Foundations founder called her a “champion for freedom and democracy”

Open Society Foundations founder and liberal billionaire George Soros published a statement mourning the death of former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright on Wednesday, calling her a champion of democracy.

“Madeleine Albright was an astute stateswoman, scholar, and a true champion for freedom and democracy,” said Soros, who also called Albright “a trailblazer in her field.”

“My colleagues and I at the @OpenSociety Foundations mourn her passing today. We will miss her.”

In 2009, Soros worked with Albright and billionaire Jacob Rothschild to invest $350 million into building mobile masts in Africa.

Albright served as the first female US secretary of state in the Clinton administration.

In 1996, she infamously claimed that it was “worth it” that half a million children in Iraq died as a result of US sanctions, while in 2012 she was recorded calling Serbians “disgusting” after being shown photos of victims of the Kosovo War.

US President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, former Trump administration Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, and billionaire Microsoft founder Bill Gates all issued statements on Wednesday mourning Albright’s death.

Now there's a list of three wonderful people. I wonder if the money was funneled through the Clinton Foundation for whatever mobile masts are

Prolly only relevant to me, but —

Stephen Wilhite, one of the lead inventors of the GIF, died last week from COVID at the age of 74. Wilhite worked on GIF, or Graphics Interchange Format, which is now used for reactions, messages, and jokes, while employed at CompuServe in the 1980s.

The creator of the GIF, Stephen Wilhite, has passed away

“He invented GIF all by himself — he actually did that at home and brought it into work after he perfected it"
ByAdam Cook

24th March 2022

The creator of the GIF image format, Stephen Wilhite, has passed away at the age of 74.

Speaking to The Verge, his wife explained that Wilhite passed away due to COVID, but she added that he was surrounded by his family when he died.

The GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) wasn’t actually created for the thing it’s mostly used for in the modern era. Instead of internet memes, Wilhite invented the format as a solo project to create high quality visuals in colour, back when the internet speeds weren’t conducive to sending enormous files.

His wife, Kathaleen, told The Verge, “He invented GIF all by himself — he actually did that at home and brought it into work after he perfected it. He would figure out everything privately in his head and then go to town programming it on the computer.” This all happened while he was working at CompuServe, which introduced the GIF in the late 80s.

There had been a long-running discussion about how to pronounce “GIF” but Wilhite himself cleared things up in 2013, when he revealed to The New York Times that it’s pronounced with a “J”, not a “G”. In other words it’s “JIF”, not “GIF”. In that interview he also revealed his one of his favourite GIFs is the dancing baby meme.
