I had a dream a few weeks back where I was talking to Melina Trump. She said she was tired. I'm exhausted just watching it. People ask why Trump? Why doesn't he just go away? The way I see it any serious threat to the Democrats would receive similar assaults. Trump is probably the only one who could endure this and keep fighting. In the meantime the news is talking Putin and nukes.

Banks. Thou shalt not rip of a bank.

It's up to banks to do Due Diligence before making loans. Have they never heard of independent appraisers?

Anyway, Charlie on Fox Biz said a little while ago that all the loans in question have been repaid, so nobody sustained any losses. Except the taxpayers of New York who wasted tens of millions on this "investigation."

Exactly who is the victim of this alleged "crime?"

Actually it was the NY State division of the IRS.... Gonna be some appraisers involved in this one but highly unlikely to involve any real wrong doing. Unless they just faked some valuations and I find that highly unlikely.

Good post.
"The people" are the alleged victim.

Whenever the government reference The Public, they are talking about the government.

This, the Mar-a-Lago raid and every other charge these Devious Deplorable Democrats will throw at Trump will backfire, it will just light another fire under his supporters and boost his chances of re-election.

So if Trump overstated the value of his properties, wouldn't he be overpaying his real estate taxes too?
If that's the 'issue' I bet he has a professional appraisal indicating such, or comparable properties supporting the claim.

This attack nonsense on one of our greatest presidents has got to stop. They always put up a schwartze female or greazy white dude to do the dirty work.

The lawsuit alleges two sets of books: on the one hand inflating property values to get loans, on the other hand deflating values as claimed on taxes.

Not surprising because this AG is an absolute idiot but the government gets to set property taxes. Owners have little say. The government here has very little say but they clearly do whatever they want.

Nobody told me that's a crime.

Most big corporations routinely keep two sets of books: a real-world set and another set to comply with IRS regulations.

It is a crime if both of them are intentionally false and it is sworn they are true. Using false statements to obtain bank loans is bank fraud. False statements to the IRS is tax fraud.

That's what the AG will try to prove. No idea if she has enough documentation and witnesses to convince a jury.

If it was really a provable crime she would have indicted him instead of this civil circus act. I would be surprised if this ever went in front of a jury.

But yet there is still not a single charge or lawsuit brought against the Clintoon Crime Foundation, Zerobama, or Blieden for bribery, collusion, fraud, obstruction of justice, money laundering, perjury, treason etc..

Where are these so called "republicans" that are supposedly fighting for the betterment of our nation? Other than a handful of real "republicans," (Libertarians like Rand Paul) most of the rest are RINOS and have betrayed US citizens.

The democrat/communism party has been infiltrated by commies, that's been well documented. JFK is rolling over in his grave at what a disgrace the demorat party had become. The republiturd party isn't much different, as McCain etc. proved that, and ~90% of that party is useless.

Then it would be a criminal case not a civil one.

It can be both. White collar crime is often pursued civil by lawsuits rather than criminal cases. Look at all the times a bank has had to pay $100M slap on wrist for committing a $10B crime. Nobody in particular goes to jail for a crime. If a person or company hasn't broken the law, then how do you fine them?

In this case the NY state prosecutor has filed the civil suit (she's still got to prove to a jury Trump broke the law) and made criminal referrals to DOJ and IRS. My guess is DOJ and IRS will decline to prosecute criminally, as standard of proof is lower.

As several people have pointed out on Twitter-er-er-er, they have been unable to find any other case in NY State history where a person or company was sued for (allegedly) overstating property values.

Until El Trumpster came along.

Totally normal. How could you possibly say this was a political witch hunt.
