CARRIE-ANNE--THE HOLLIES (NEW ENHANCED VERSION) 720p
cinematic35

Published on Feb 24, 2017
This is my first enhanced "Hollies" classic. A friend of mine (Rick Kantner) had a 30th Anniversary CD he lent me so I would have clean digital copies to use. I picked this as my first one of maybe 5 more since I get a lot of requests for enhanced Hollies. This was not an easy song working with these guys. One thing I never liked was when a producer places the vocals on just one channel so I added
some on the left channel to balance it out and make for a fuller vocal stereo effect.

I added my 12 string acoustic on the left channel and more pronounced percussion, tambourine etc. I like the "wave organ" in the middle part with the clapping and some other instrument tricks.

The Epiphone 6 electric gave the right channel more powerful guitar rift. Hope the Hollies fans like it too! Kenn

Status Quo, also known as The Quo or just Quo, are an English rock band whose music is characterised by a strong boogie line. The group was founded by bassist Alan Lancaster and guitarist Francis Rossi in 1962, becoming "The Status Quo" in late 1967, and finally settling on the name "Status Quo" in 1970. They have recorded over 60 chart hits in the UK— more than any other rock group in history. Their name symbolizes how the band's style matches the "status quo" of the time they produced their music.

1964 HITS: The House Of The Rising Sun - Animals (U.S. 45 version)
MusicProf78

Published on Mar 3, 2017
The House Of The Rising Sun (Price) by The Animals, produced by Mickie Most

The first American hit for Eric Burdon’s group was one of the year’s top-selling British imports, based upon the tradition folk ballad.

NOTE: If you were not around in 1964 to hear this million-selling but shortened three-minute version on the radio or on your home phonograph (or even if you were), you might be surprised to hear it now, as we’ve become so accustomed to the longer 4:30 track that has been reissued and played almost exclusively over the past 50 years. Though the long version was issued on the UK single, the top-40 radio industry in America was less likely at that time to consider adding records that ran much over three minutes….thus this edited version which cut one verse and some of the instrumental passages, including the cold ending.

U.S. Pop Chart Peaks: #1 Billboard, Cash Box, and Record World - UK 1 (extended version)

This one goes out to GHedge.

When I was a little squirt my Dad woke me up in the night to meet a friend of his who was sipping Cognac in the kitchen.

The fella seemed tall to me with a voice that sounded like water in a brook.

He could say mundane things like "Well, we all know the sky is blue." But it would sound like the most fascinating thing I ever heard in that cognac soaked voice.

It was Faron Young somewhere in the early 1960s.

America was great back then.
Still is if you know the right people

Are you going to Scarborough Fair?
Yesterday holds memories in time —
Remember me to the one who lives there
She once was a true love of mine —

Tell her to think back upon younger days
Yesterday holds memories in time —
And seek yonder crossroads where we parted ways
Then she'll be a true love of mine —

Tell her to follow the path to the shire
Yesterday holds memories in time
For there she'll find her heart's true desire
Then she'll be a true love of mine —

Tell her to come to the old willow tree
Yesterday holds memories in time —
Where spirits of lost love yet whisper to thee
Thou art still a true love of mine —

Tell her to gather three lilies of white
Yesterday holds memories in time —
To place at my headstone, beneath the moon's light
Then she'll be a true love of mine —
For ever she'll be the one true love of mine —
