Wow! It seems like, just last week, it was on only 13T.

www.usdebtclock.org

With unfunded liabilities of over $100 Trillion.

I don't think enough lawful dollar units exist to pay it all off.

Thanks to Curtman for bringing this to my attention in another thread.

...

In a world where a lie is truth, and criminals are revered for their "riches," it is only fitting that debt is wealth.

Well there is a lot to be said about the debtors ability to outwit the lender. This could not be possible without fractional reserve banking.

We're not outwitting anyone. The Chineese are 'end running' us right now. They are divesting themselves of dollars in exchange for real assets (mines, utilities, oil properties and such). I thought the tail would wag the dog but it appears there are still lemmings out there.

Is it sad that I thought the US had already reached $14 trillion? I guess I was resigned to the fact quite some time ago.

Sad thing is, $15 trillion is right around the corner.

Haha... Don't worry about the 14 or 15 trillion... Worry insted about the 140 trillion in unfunded liabilities. How reassuring is that?

I wouldn't worry about the so-called "national debt". It isn't my debt or yours. We didn't agree to borrow this money.
The Jew banksters loaned money they didn't have, let them worry about it.

Sounds like a great idea and I would like not to worry or care a rats butt about it..........however, that number is there for future Tax hikes as if we aren't taxed enough already. If it was merely just accounting between the .gov and the banks then that figure should be on the 'off-balance' sheet. Yet, that number exists to threaten the US citizens with the attempt to confuse them that it's actually US citizen debt.

This false assumption will one day be challenged by the rifle. True patriots will once again be forced to take up arms.

Weren't they going to be raising the "debt ceiling" any second now..?

I wonder if we're going to be discussing debt in quadrillions someday, if somehow this global soup sandwich stays together.

Well, when gold was $300 per ounce, the national debt was around $6 trillion. Therefore, we could theoretically push the national debt past ~$24 trillion before gold would be severely undervalued vs the debt, correct? You could even argue that the United States debt is heavily capitalized, by OUR gold of course.
Fire up the printing presses! We have room to "grow". :36_2_36:

...but in 1980 the debt was under $1T and gold was $850. So by that logic gold should now be $11,900 oz.

National debt today, a full 10 years after this thread began:

28T and expanding like a bloated corpse on a hot day.

We are in uncharted territory. Either we will crash and burn, have a very long period of stagnation or if by some miracle they have figured out some secret formula to keep pumping money without crashing everything, we will enter a golden age.

my money is on stagnation then hard crash, recovery, and more stagnation.

the longer they pull the rubber band, the more intense the snap and the people who'll simply be run over by the bus...shame really

the amount of homeless people who still exist is enormous and those ranks will indeed increase in the near future

overwhelm the system is an understatement

But now there's Bitcoin at $63000 and running.

Gold won't shine as long as Bitcoin is a competitor.
I think it should be a little bit higher than that myself but yeah you're right and if you think about it in 1971 if you had a million dollars today it would take almost 7 million to be equivalent purchasing power, ouch... No wonder old, rich and retired people are so crabby.

They are simply wasting the money on top of it. Can I get a refund?
