Edit: Added this as I've just seen the news that the Tories want to have a General Election here. The bizzare part is that since the introduction of Fixed Term Parliaments some 6 years or so ago, any early termination of the government will require 75% of MP's to vote in favour, a Super Majority if you will. If only they'd have applied the same qualification to the Brexit referendum, I doubt we'd be paddling so fast up Sh1t Creek as we are now :)
Looking for a strong mandate to get the Brexit job done?

The way I saw it is anyone would have been better than Her.

Still, you have to wonder if they have some pedofile sex tape, or some 'other goods' on these people.
Right now thats the only positive from Trump, very dissapointed, I wont vote again for anyone im done. Tired of being lied to , used, voting for the lesser of two evils. My first vote in the primary was for Rand Paul , maybe hes part of the corruption too who the fuck knows anymore its one big fking game.

More likely what is in effect a second referendum ?

Maybe somebody noticed that since we crapped all over Aus and NZ in order to get in the EU back in 73, the good folks down under have found other more lucrative markets ?

Then there's the Single Market, maybe its dawned upon em that coming out of the EU is one thing, but exiting the Single Market is quite a different kettle of fish. And after all the tough talk about coming out with no deal, this is about the only stunt they could pull that might change that stance.

The Tories and UKIP seem to think this election will return the Conservatives with a bigger majority, but given the chance it offers to amend the referendum result, I'd not be too sure. We'll see, 50 days of campaigning ahead and no clear idea yet what turns it all take.

Its safe to assume that UKIP wont be in the running in any serious way, they wont have the organisation nor likely the money to put up candidates in numbers. That and demagogue Nigel's replacement being a complete pillock will likely see them off :)

Got a question Fan, is Britain as divided socially as the US is? In the US the liberal cities and surrounding towns could not be more polarized and the divide in this country has never been more evident!
Not so much town and country, its more along the lines of those with money, and the revenant working class who were left over after the place was de industrialised back in the 80's. There's certainly not the deep seated divide between left and right that seems to exist in the USA. Politics here stays pretty close to the centre no matter who gets in. Thing to remember is that the UK is a pretty small place, and by any reasonable stretch, even those who would be considered to be not doing so well wont be feeling the sort of pain or distress that the same cohort in America will.
