Looks like nice stuff. I'm closer to numi than most here but it has to have some gold or silver like what you have, more often than not. One amazing looking piece from a collector standpoint could be worth $5K but a rarity could be worth $500K. I do like the history, however. Thanks for sharing.

Nice coins!

I had an Italian states gold coin from the late 1700s with a griffin (lion with eagle wings) motif on reverse I sold to Ponterio.

Thanks! I really like the classic old designs. I find the stuff the modern mints issue boring, the coins from the 1600-1800th centuries were so beautifull in engraving/artistic designs. I am German, yet even Germany has not produced any really nice coins since Kaiser Wilhelm II. However, most German Imperial Cities/ Duchies/etc., produced fantastic material between 1400-1918. The US gold coinage before 1933, were fantastic designs. Today, we have worthless plastic/paper currency....back in 1600s you had gold coins from the tiny 1/32Dukat to the massive 10 oz. 100 Dukats!

Thanks! Coins are neat to collect, but in past 100 years are also best investment! EX: a gold Sovereign from England minted during the reign of Henry VIII sold for 145 Pounds in 1945/ 700 Pounds in 1970/ 345,000 Pounds in 2015!!!!! Quality/ rarity are important too.

Always best to keep that secret! I remember reading an article about one of the best collections of US coins, the guy had a real bank vault in his mansion. That collection in todays inflated money would have been close to a billion US. Here are a few more coins.

Nice to share with other collectors, I see so many beautifull coins on www.sixbid.com (most I cannot afford ever!) But when you see a Basel City 1741 20 Dukats in FDC it blows your mind....hopefully others will post their prize coins.
Here are a few more....
Note: my photography skills are a bit rusty, hope to get better fotos.

Here is a really rare gold coin from Medieval India, data label/obverse/reverse
There were 10-12 Rulers from the Eastern Chaluykas that issued these large scyphate pagodas. In total about 50 coins are known, most are badly worn, this is a really excellent example.
