Its a great idea. 40 years to late. Remember when Gingrich and the conservatives had that compact with America back in the early 90's? At the time we were all up in arms demanding an end to welfare and excessive federal debt.. That lasted about a year.

fedgov is sitting on 150 trillion in assets (best estimate i've found). many of those assets were bought/maintained through deficit spending.

if would be easy to sell some of that and right the ship
