What is the Best DMR Scope Under $400? - PA 1-6x24FFP ACSS RAPTOR ~ Rex Reviews
TiborasaurusRex

Published on Apr 25, 2018
The Primary Arms 1-6x24mm first focal plane takes the proven performance of their Gen III scope body and upgrades the internals to provide first focal functionality. This tough scope features full red reticle illumination, a quick focus eyepiece, and finger adjustable turrets covered by turret caps. The first focal plane construction allows the reticle to be small, fast, and simple at low magnification, with ranging and ballistic drops true at every magnification.

The ACSS Raptor 5.56 first focal plane reticle has been calibrated to be true at every magnification. The reticle's features include:
1) Automatic ranging and BDC out to 600 yards
2) Wind hold-off dots for 5mph and 10mph values
3) Moving target leads
3) Fast horse shoe that easily draws your eye to the target at low power settings

Full red reticle illumination is provided by a single (included) CR2032 battery, and a spare battery is included inside the windage turret cap. A total of 11 settings take the reticle all the way up to daylight bright.

Check it out!

Thank you for your donations to the Rex Reviews Project! We hope these videos continue to be a great help to you all.

Best Night Vision Binoculars | Tactical Rifleman
Tactical Rifleman

Published on May 4, 2018
Karl is an “Ambassador” for FLIR. So, any of you that are interested in getting a good deal on FLIR or Armasight by FLIR products; please reach out to Tactical Rifleman in the private message section.

Here, at Tactical Rifleman, we are all about showing you how the military “Shoots, Moves, and Communicates.” A big part of shooting and moving in the dark is being able to see. As most of our combat ops are done at night, it only makes sense for us to practice at night, using the best NVDs that the taxpayers can buy.

That said, whether you are military, law enforcement, or civilian; there are certains guidelines that apply.

Match the optic to the mission
Thermals are NOT always better than standard IR
Always get the BEST tube you or your unit can afford
Batteries, batteries, batteries
On this flavor, we are going to do a series of videos about different night vision gear, including GEN-III & Thermal, and both helmet & weapon mounted versions.

This first video is about the dual-tube BNVD that I run on my helmet. It’s a sweet piece of kit, that is actually pretty affordable.

Before you ask… Let’s play “I Spy” and I’ll answer a few questions that I know my TR family is going to ask:

Yes, we filmed the “indoor” portion of this video in my “Man Room.”
Yes, that is indeed a picture of Saddam Insane hanging up on the wall over my shoulder. I got it from one of his palaces during the initial invasion of Iraq. He didn’t need it anymore.
See the calendar hanging up next to it? That is a “cameo appearance” by a friend’s calendar company, call “We Love our Guns.” It shows modern firearms being held by models wearing WWII era bathing suits in conservative poses. The cool part is that the outfits are just body painted on to the nude models. Please check out his website, to see more pics and posters available of each model.
Some of you have asked about the military Challenge Coins that are on display on top of the chair rail. They go all the way around the room, and each of them has a story behind it. I’m gonna share a lot of these stories with some of our supporters, on Patreon, but I just don’t have the time here to do it.
There are a lot of pictures and souvenirs, hanging up in this room. I never hung up a single “military” picture in my house the whole time I was active duty. So, maybe a went a little overboard now.
OK, now here’s a question for you… What is the “copper colored circle” on my shelf to the left? Leave your guesses in the comment section below. You know I read all your comments.
Till next time; thanks for watching. Strength & Honor, TR.

PA ACSS RAPTOR 1-6X24mm FFP review by Brent0331
Brent0331

Published on Jul 4, 2018
In this video we look at the Primary Arms 1-6X24 FFP rifle scope. The optic is an affordable first focal plane scope that contains a variation of the Advanced Combined Sighting System (ACSS) reticle that was designed by Dimitri with Primary Arms. After getting firsthand experience using the ACSS in the Nevada desert, I am certain it is the very best utilitarian optic available for combat applications.

This optic comes in a 5.56/5.45/.308 option, or a 7.62x39/300 blackout version. However, we will primarily focus on the 5.56, 5.45, .308 variant in this video.

In this video I will discuss the nomenclature of the optic, its version of the ACSS reticle and finally some practical application shooting with it.

BIG THANKS to Dimitri and Bruce for making this all possible!
Also thanks to CO.AC Music (the music I used in the intro)

How I Buy Quality Optics for Cheap
The VSO Gun Channel

Published on Jul 11, 2018
I like to use high quality optics on my guns. I am kind of over the cheap optic phase, I have just had too many issues. I have come full circle to Trijicon. Which means that they are expensive. I havbe talked before about Big Daddy Unlimited. I have been using their site to find my scopes and reddots for cheap. I recently picked up an SRS, MRO, ACOG, and a 1-8X Accupower

Best Mini Thermal for all Missions | FLIR Breach | Tactical Rifleman

If any of you that are interested in getting a good deal on ANY Thermal, NVDs, or Laser products; we got you a Promo Code "Erickson18" from NightVisionGuys.com. If you have any questions, please reach out to us at TacticalRifleman.com

Here, at Tactical Rifleman, we are all about showing you how the military “Shoots, Moves, and Communicates.” A big part of shooting and moving in the dark is being able to see. Always get the BEST tube you or your unit can afford
Batteries, batteries, batteries
On this flavor, we are going to continue our series of videos about different night vision gear, including GEN-III & Thermal, and both helmet & weapon mounted versions.
This third video is about the small Breach Thermal that I keep in a pouch on my War Belt. That’s right, this puppy is small enough that I carry it around on my war belt, out at the range, every day. The pouch sits on my right hip between my Leatherman and my Med Kit. It’s a sweet little thermal monocular, sized smaller than the old PVS-14s, and it’s a thermal!!!.. Yes, Thermals have disadvantages. However, I prefer to keep a little Thermal monocular handy for a number of cool reasons:
It takes up very little space (same size as a flashlight)
I can use it handheld or weapon mounted or even helmet mounted
It can record hours of video internally, and/or take hundreds of still photos.
Unlike GEN-III NVDs, I can film with this during the day
It only covers one eye, allowing the other eye to respond naturally to surrounding light.
It can be used for spotting day or night. It’s this last note that many people overlook. Situation… Say you are running a huge GEN-III Ghost White Phosphor Clip-On NVD on the Front of your Schmidt & Bender Day Scope, mounted on your monster 338 heavy sniper rifle; in the hide site, overwatching an enemy ISIS training camp. You’ve been living in this bush for 36 hours, and the Assault force isn’t going to hit for another 32 hours. The enemy knows they are being watched because politicians can’t keep their mouths shut; so the enemy has active security out, with roving patrols traveling all over the terrain. At 0200hrs in the morning, it’s your turn to pull security, while the rest of your sniper team does “priorities of work” (Eat/Sleep). With no moonlight, you can’t see your hand in front of your face. To look 360 around your hide site, you don’t want to pick up that big sniper rifle to pan around the flanks and rear of your bush. Instead, you pull out your trusty little Thermal monocular, and look around. Nothing can hide from you and nothing can sneak up on you. Been there done that. I was on a “Training Op” in Africa, in a hide site on security, when I panned around with my little hand held thermal. As I turned to my right, through the scope I spotted a HUGE “Bear” standing up on its hind legs holding something in front of it!!!. Wait a minute; there are no Bear in Africa. Upon closer look, it was a field mouse sitting back, eating a seed from our scrub brush bush, 10 feet away. Now, if a mouse can’t sneak up on me, then there’s no way an enemy patrol would be able to sneak up on our bush. Today, I’m a FAG (Former Action Guy), and no one is wanting to shoot at me. I still use the thermal for filming cool videos of my students. I use it for scouting for Deer & Elk. I use it for finding downed Hogs or Coyotes. I use it for checking the insulation of my windows and doors. There are lots of uses for this little puppy. Yes, I keep a GEN-III monocular in my Go Bag for driving; but I’ll still carry this little Breach with me. A good thermal brings a lot of capability to the fight, and this Breach is so small there is no reason to leave it behind.
I f any of you are interested in taking a training course with any of the Tactical Rifleman team; please reach out to us at tacticalrifleman.com, where you can find course listings and other great content.
Till next time; thanks for watching. Strength & Honor, TR.

Red Dot Alternatives - PA 1X Compact with Cyclops ACSS ~ Rex Reviews
TiborasaurusRex

Published on Aug 13, 2018
Worried that your red dot sight will fail you when you least expect it? The Primary Arms 1X Compact Prism Scope with ACSS Cyclops reticle combines the durability and flexibility of an etched reticle with the speed and ease of use of a red dot. Unlike most prism optics, the 1X Compact Prism Scope has a generous 3.7 inches of eye relief combined with a massive 13mm exit pupil to provide an exceptionally forgiving eye box. This allows for a high degree of efficiency in red dot-style shooting, keeping both eyes open for fast target acquisition in a variety of positions and circumstances that no other prism scope can touch. The 1X Compact Prism Scope’s included 1913 MIL STD Picatinny rail mount is removable, and the scope body is compatible with industry standard microdot mounts.

Features:
- Glass etched reticle that works with illumination on or off
- Full reticle illumination with 11 brightness settings
- CR2032 battery provides up to 3,000 hours at medium settings
- Forgiving eye box with nearly 4” of eye relief
- A bright 13mm exit pupil diameter
- Patented ACSS Cyclops reticle which provides fast target acquisition, range estimation, and moving target leads out to 400 yards
- Bullet drop compensation (BDC) compatible with .223 Rem/5.56 NATO, 5.45x39mm, and .308 Win/7.62 NATO to 400 yards, and 7.62x39mm and 300 BLK out to 300 yards.
- Quick adjust diopter ring for shooter-optimized reticle focus
- ½ MOA click adjustments with capped turrets
- Compact design at just 4” long and 9.7 ounces
- Uses industry standard micro red dot mounts
- Wide 76.3-yard field of view at 100 yards
