I have no idea. The thinking rests on whether or not a president can issue a pardon that would blanket cover any past activities prior to that date - whether charged or not... I have no idea of the legal doctrine...
Fox News Dagen McDowell blew up on fellow network contributor Juan Williams this Friday after Williams tried to dismiss Attorney General Bill Barr’s otherwise valid and arguably necessary investigation into the origins of the Russian collusion investigation.
The fiery outburst occurred during a discussion on FNC’s “The Five” about Barr’s claim that the Democrats are purposefully trying to discredit him and his investigation because they fear what the investigation might ultimately uncover about the Obama administration.
“What’s going on is an investigation of the investigators as punishment coming from an administration that is overwhelmingly political,” Williams said in defense of the Democrats. “Right now, really, they are distracting from the real news with all of this silliness.”
“Trey Gowdy shocked Fox Business Host Maria Bartiromo when he revealed for the very first time that the Deep State used the Hillary dossier five times and not just the four times we know about. But, because it is confidential, he could not say who that warrant was against, but my guess would be Michael Cohen or Paul Manafort since it’s from the dossier – although Michael Flynn could be the one. Sooner or later, Judicial Watch will get us the answers unless President Trump declassifies it first, along with the other four. Gowdy also said that the FBI is refusing to make the Papadopoulos transcripts public because they prove there was no collusion.”
