Here's a picture that I did not take but REALLY wish I had, or at least the opportunity. It is in China from the bottom of a 600-foot-deep sinkhole that had been there for at least centuries.

I use it to fill my largest flower beds (because I'm lazy) and then I just fill smaller beds around it with flowers.

And the reason she gave it to me was because I had knocked over the top heavy plant and broke a couple branches off. This was in the middle of the hot summer and she just stuck them in a wet towel and I took him home put them in a tiny pot & they've been thriving on practically nothing after all that stress.

Sunrise this morning off my back deck. Headed into town early with She Who Must Be Obeyed, bought her steak and eggs in the smallest, most run-down diner in town (but the best food), and then took her to Lowe's and put her to work loading. Came home with (8) 4 x 4 x 8's (pressure treated) and (8) bags of concrete mix. Setting the posts for my new chicken run today. Going to be 8' x 24' and will house six chickens.

I hear you, but I have a thing about giving animals enough room to breathe. I'm not raising veal. I give my cows more acres than most would, but at least they don't stress the fields as much when they aren't as dense. I give my hogs a much larger pen then most would, particularly since I usually only raise two per year. This gives them room to play and generally be happy pigs. My dogs have 20 acres fenced to roam and patrol and hunt. They are the type of dog who likes to have a large area to protect. They were bred 2,000 years ago to kill wolves in Central Russia. At night, they are all over this place, killing anything that dares come on their property. Mostly feral cats and foxes.

I totally agree with that. Our chickens had 4.5 of our 5 acres to roam around & eat the bugs.
