If the left starts rioting and the police/military start shooting the rioters, can we just call them post-birth abortions?

Has anyone heard when the ruling on this case was supposed to have been final and made public?

Well that is the goal of the leakers. But this draft opinion was written the way it was because they had already counted the votes. If one of the majoirty changed their vote now, it would be quite embarassing to that Justice.
From what I understand the process is to draft the arguments and opinions to pass around and try to convince each to change their vote. The vote tally leaked (5/4) was work in process and not final

No way any of the leftists change their mind (and I include Roberts in this group)

the libertarian and right need to hold strong.

best secondary consequence of this imo is that projects to turn Florida and Texas blue might slow their roll

In one tweet someone said the ruling isn't in effect until it's released in June. I have not been able to verify that so it's just hearsay until confirmed.

It's a good thing Elon Musk bought Twitter or else we'd never see many of the tweets today regarding Roe v. Wade.

I was thinking that in my cynical mind that the Democrats could use this as a rallying cry to get out the vote for the upcoming elections.
Democrats don't need elections to gain and stay in office. Past has 100% proven that.

The aftermath of it all

Baby Roe
1651602000647.png

The daughter of “Jane Roe” — the woman whose case was used in the landmark Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision — says she has “no regrets” about never meeting her biological mother.

And after keeping her identity secret for more than 50 years, Shelley Lynn Thornton has come to terms with her identity, saying in her first on-camera interview that the ruling “has nothing to do with me.”

Thornton’s identity as the daughter of “Jane Roe,” or Norma McCorvey, was revealed last month in an article in the Atlantic. The 1973 Supreme Court ruling made abortion a federally protected right.

“She didn’t deserve to meet me,” Thornton told ABC News of McCorvey for the interview, which aired Monday. “She never did anything in her life to get that privilege back. She never expressed genuine feeling for me or genuine remorse for doing the things that she did, saying the things that she did over and over and over again. She wasn’t sorry, about giving me away or anything.”
It was a game. It was a game. I was just a pawn, and I wasn’t going to let her do it,” she said.

Thornton did not learn her mother’s true identity until she was 19 years old, when she says she was tricked by reporters from the National Enquirer. The reporters told Thornton they would reveal the identity of her biological mother at a restaurant in Seattle’s Space Needle. She went with her adoptive mother, Ruth.

“They’d asked me if I’d ever heard of her before and I said no,” Thornton told ABC News’ Linsey Davis.

“And they said, ‘Well, she is the woman who they used to do the Roe versus Wade case. She was Jane Roe.'”

They demanded to know the teenager’s stance on abortion: Was she pro-life or pro-choice?

She told them she didn’t even know what that meant before Ruth was able to escort away from the media barrage. Thornton told ABC that she broke down after.

“My whole thinking is that, ‘Oh God, everybody’s going to hate me because everyone’s going to blame me for abortion being legal.’ You know, it’s like ‘It’s all my fault,’ is pretty much what I was thinking,” she said. “And that’s really hard to grasp when you’re in that kind of a situation and you’re just kind of like learning all of this stuff.”

After the incident, Thornton said, she was able to speak on the phone to McCorvey for the first time.

“It became apparent to me really quickly that the only reason why she wanted to reach out to me and find me was because she wanted to use me for publicity,” Thornton said.
Thornton said prior to learning who her mother was, she had not really considered abortion, saying it was a “non-thing” in her adopted family.

McCorvey, who died in 2017, joined the abortion rights movement in the 1980s, saying she hoped to find the child she had put up for adoption, but then things got sticky.

In the 1990s, she crossed the picket line and joined the anti-abortion side.

In a 2020 documentary “AKA Jane Roe,” McCorvey claimed she had been paid by anti-abortion activists to switch sides.

“I think she was taken advantage of by both sides, but I think she also took advantage of both sides,” Thornton told ABC News.

Thornton has kept her personal views on abortion “close to my chest,” not wanting to be used like McCorvey was.

“I don’t really talk about that just because I’m not going to let either side use me for their advantage,” she said, adding that activists can “find someone else.”

the more I look at this chart, I think sanger might have had it right..........food for thought........
If one does the research they would realize that clearly, her goal was always to control the African American population growth. Everything over and above that was gravy. Considering all the damage the urban Africans have caused to society, especially in the US, perhaps she wasn't entirely wrong

Actually, all the people who are crying against racism... they should all be anti-abortion. There is no group more affected by abortion in American than black Americans. All those who are for abortion are racist. They won't hear that on their college campuses or in their mainstream news.

The black population should be supporting anti-abortion causes instead of the phony BLM folks who are only getting rich off using blacks.

Oh for the day when all American sheep wake up to how we've all been lied to for generations. What a day that would be!! Fireworks for sure.

I hate the word "abortion." It is used to legitimize infanticide my making it sound like a legitimate medical procedure. Call it what it is - murder.

I don't think people flip at this stage - the thing has already been typeset - but they may change certain paragrpahs, append footnotes, or add a concurring opinion; and the opponents author separate dissenting opinions. From time to time, in future cases, these can be very significant and can be highly relevant to future cases. Justice Thurgood Marshall was well known for his dissenting opinions esp on Fourth Amendment topics.

The reality is that they have to take a straw vote to determine which side is going to draft the majority opinion, and then the folks in the majority will give comments and input. By the time its typeset and goes to the other side, I don't think much is changing.

It all depends on whether the insurrectionists are on the side of the revolutionaries currently in office.

BLM arson-fests were "mostly peaceful." A good-time crowd at the front of the Capitol, invited IN by Capitol Police...was an **INSURRECTION** and a **THREAT TO OUR DEMOCRACY** (which is not what we have; it's a republic).

Their dishonesty and disingenuousness is on full display, and they do not care.

IIRC...that term was chosen by the pro-abort crowd, long ago, to hide what they were doing.

"Abortion" is the medical term for miscarriage. As in "spontaneous abortion" - a sudden miscarriage.

"Induced abortion" was to be the clinical term for what, at the time, was a criminal medical procedure.

But the Left loves to re-define things with image-adjusted terms. Illegal invaders and border-jumpers become "immigrants." Sodomite sham-marriages, intended to degrade all marriage, become "same sex" and "it's just about love."

Republicans become Way-Cysts and Knot-sees. Why? Because we SAY SO! Everything bad, is all Trump's fault! Before Trump it was Bush, and next year it will be DeSantis' fault, everything.

These people are not to be taken seriously. But watch their wording - THAT we must always watch and identify.

Medical privacy would mean that my government, my employer, and a random waitress at a restaurant have no right to know if I'm vaccinated or not.

I'm personally ok with abortion being legal, but these fuckers need to make a choice. Medical privacy or not? My body my choice, or not?

The vaxmandaters brought this on themselves. Now they can suck it.

Clearly, ROE was a terrible legal decision, whether you are pro choice or not. However, I think this decision will be paving the way for SCOTUS to rule that mandatory vaccines are not unconstitutional when the next plandemic hits.

How do you make that connection.

Roe v. Wade basically invented a Right-To-Abortion, removing the issue from states or state-voters' referendums. Criminal law, by the Constitution, is the province of States. That includes what is homicide, including whether Abortion is homicide, manslaughter, or a valid medical procedure.

Overturning Roe basically returns the question to the States. Before Roe, New York and IIRC a few other states, HAD legalized abortion, but that wasn't good enough for the baby-butcher coalition.

So, I don't see how an overturning of Roe leads us to mandated Jabs. Not to say it won't happen...but if it does, I become a former American.

Great timing. This particular divide they're exploiting is as big a diversion for societies as racism. Sure to make you forget how they screwed your freedom for the last two years, put ya all out of work, and your money fast becoming worthless in thier system.

But hey, lets go get those chinks and russkies and teach em a lession about how free we are...

Just wait until the baby murder mongers get riled if the court does away with legal infantacide. This was a start.

That's what they want to get going now.

Government should completely stay out of the legalizing abortion business. Infantacide should be a personal decision; that person must bear the full responsibility for their decision and there should be no laws OR FUNDING of any kind to cover abortions.

That would be my solution
