US Treasury Bonds rallying hard.....
EDIT : Comment removed........I think the Greece contagion is spreading (already) - looks to be deflationary, too.

U.S. treasurys gain on rising sovereign debt worries

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Treasury prices gained on Tuesday, pushing yields down, amid more concerns that even as Greece gets a bailout, other countries in Europe face similar financial imbalances and may need help, causing a flight to safety into U.S. debt.

"Treasurys are higher this morning as fears percolate over the risk of a sovereign debt contagion," said strategists at RBS Securities.

Yields on 10-year notes (UST10Y 3.61, -0.08, -2.04%) , fell 4 basis points to 3.65%. Bond yields move in the opposite direction as prices and a basis point is 0.01%.

Yields on 2-year notes (UST2YR 0.94, -0.05, -4.87%) declined 4 basis points to 0.96%.

Euro-zone fears rattle U.S. stocks; Pfizer climbs U.S. stocks opened broadly lower Tuesday, pushing the Dow Jones Industrial Average below the key 11,000 level as worries over euro-zone debt returned.

US Stocks Fall On Euro-Zone Worries, Pushing DJIA Below 11000 U.S. stocks opened broadly lower Tuesday, pushing the Dow Jones Industrial Average below the key 11000 level as worries over euro-zone debt returned. The Dow dropped 158 points, or 1.4%, to 10994, in early trading. That wipes out Monday's gain of about 143 points. The measure's most economically sensitive components, which had led Monday's rally, reversed Tuesday to lead its declines.

Pfizer, Merck, Sirius and Greece in spotlight U.S. stock futures dropped Tuesday as the see-saw action in markets continued, with renewed worries over European finances offsetting the positive data seen in the last session.

"They" sure don't want gold above 1200. lol It got to 1193 and then came the official spankdown.

One could argue it was mere profit taking, or positions consolidating to reduce losses over the Greece debacle, but I prefer to believe it was the ppt up to their usual tricks.

What say you? Any other rational explanations for the sudden drop?

US Treasury Bonds and and to a degree US dollars remain the only uncorrellated assets. Stocks, Corp Bonds, Emerging Debt, Commodities and even Gold to a degree have all moved in the same direction over the last year. Don't think that big pension funds haven't taken notice.
