I have been unimpressed by the Ruger American line of firearms. Seem very cheap in feel and function when I have held some at LGS.

I wouldn't make too much of the serial number.....GunBroker has tons listed, but Yes cant be too careful.....Hard to do a photo opp when he's a lefty.

REO you could add a Ruger Blackhawk Old Model Flat Top revolver to that list in 357 or 44 and not be disappointed.

I have witnessed styrofoam disintegrate on the beaches in Baja in a very short amount of time -
Don't believe anything you hear & only 1/2 of what you see.
