Did Ruger ever do penance for selling out gun owners on the 2nd Amendment?

I like that screw-off Delta Ring. Somebody should have done that 40 years ago.

You can't get there from here.

Yeah, I considered it a strength building exercise as a kid with the M16. They got better over the years, but that screw type change sounds good. Note no heat shield in the handgrip.
I don't like "no dust cover" on the S&P, no forward assist* and the white logo on the magazine well.

Somebody tell him the "button" is called a forward assist.

*How can you perform SPORTS without a forward assist? It's drilled into my brain, I would lock up when I got to T!

No dust cover, no forward assist makes for minor cost savings for the manufacturer but it also means the manufacturer is actively cutting corners.

A person could argue that the removal of said items incurs a weight reduction so perhaps its fat that is being cut and not corners.

At the end of the day I'm with gringott on this. I have muscle memory on the M-16/AR-15 and substantial changes on this platform will force me to think when action matters more.

I have held an AR, but never fired one. They don't stir any passion in me like combloc 7.62 x 39 rifles.

I like the Commies too but the AR's are really fun to shoot. Like Hickok says its a fast round. It's like poking something with a long stick!

Cheap AR's mean you can buy more AR's to give as Christmas gifts. :)

Every time I used the forward-assist, it made the malfunction worse. My muscle-memory is to rack the slide when I hear 'click'.

No dust cover crosses the line for me. A dust cover is a must-have.

Gold & AR nuts, check out the DIY magazine loader.

I can't remember if I saw it here, or on Twitter, but I wants to make one this fall.

Ruger AR556 MPR

Shooting and discussing the Ruger AR556 MPR.
By the way, I thought I'd lubed the bolt again during my shooting of the rifle, but when I took it down to clean it, the bolt was so dry that it was almost locked up. I'll take the blame for the malfunction; I'm surprised it didn't hang up more than the one time.
