In a US first, San Jose, California will make gun owners insure themselves against injury or accident.

Unconstitutional as all get out...especially the fee/tax on Right....no different then an illegal poll tax.

Other points......mayor openly admits that criminals wont abide by liability rules or fee rules. Also liabilty insurance only covers in most cases accidental/negligent discharges...intentional acts (far and away the most likely cause of gun violence) are not covered. Insurance premiums are low but thats not the point. However low premiums are an indicator that insurance companies dont see much risk in paying claims. $10-$30 a month for gun liabilty vs $150 a month for car insurance tells me insurance companies feel more financial risk from you and your car then your gun meaning car claims are far more numerous than gun claims...

Feel good action that will likely not pass muster in court.

in this State, if anyone happens to See your weapon, that's a violation of the law, right out of the gate

weapons are to be cased and secured in any situation where they are outside of your safe

even walking from your house to your truck, your neighbors aren't supposed to be able to see any sign of that weapon....


it virtually makes owning a weapon a moot cause...

That’s the problem, the inmates are running the asylum. I have a friend who is a prison screw, and he said they can’t look at the inmates cross eyed without getting in trouble. Years back, when an inmate got out of line or touched or threatened a guard, they got beat with a rubber hose filled with sand to within an inch of their life and told they would commit suicide if it ever happened again.

This. It’s legal warfare. Blue states pump out anger-hate propaganda and flood the inner cities with drugs. Then the criminals go on a rampage. When they’re caught, they’re released on little to no bond. Literal lawlessness, but if you try to defend yourself, you get Kyle rittenhoused. Red states are doing the opposite and legislating castle doctrine and stand your ground and also allowing cars to escape protests when they become violent. In New York if you hit someone while trying to flee when protestors are smashing your windows and grabbing you, the police come after you. It’s ridiculous. No wonder commies targeted lawyers.
