That's not a world that I want to live in.
it does appear that's why we're here...because we're needed in our own ways

strength is a virtue and a character trait and it sometimes makes me tired and want to quit...but, like you, i can't quit, yet

we're obviously still needed

Smollett Demands Chicago Pay Up
By
Tiffany Layne
-
November 20, 2019

Smollett knows he’s been banished from the A-list, and there’s no coming back from the damage he’s done.

He single-handedly wiped Empire off the airwaves. His fellow cast-members surely top Smollett’s list of haters. But that’s not enough to silence the drama queen.

Smollett is an attention whore at his core, and he refuses to fade quietly into the background where he belongs. Thus, he’s cooked up yet another publicity stunt to keep his name in the headlines.

As Fox News writes:
Jussie Smollett says the $10,000 he was mandated to pay after the criminal case against him was closed should prevent the city of Chicago from seeking reimbursement for the police investigation following his claim, back in January 2019, that he was a victim of a racist and homophobic attack.

Attorneys for the former “Empire” actor filed a response Tuesday to Chicago’s lawsuit in federal court. They also filed a counterclaim against the city, saying Smollett was the victim of a malicious prosecution that caused humiliation and extreme distress.

Malicious Prosecution?
This guy tops the list of stupid criminals. After telling police he was attacked by two masked men yelling “This is MAGA country,” Smollett acts as if he didn’t seek an investigation. Of course he rehearsed his attack. Then he staged his 911 call. Surely, he expected some kind of police response.

Obviously, Smollett wanted his name in the news to get a raise. But he didn’t expect the police to outsmart him. Even his MAGA loving honky attackers turned out to be two black dudes. Thus, he didn’t exactly think this through very well.

In February, police determined that Smollett’s masked assailants were brothers Abel and Ola Osundairo, who trained Smollett and worked with him on “Empire.” Authorities also identified the brothers as those on surveillance video purchasing the rope that was reportedly hung around Jussie’s neck during the alleged attack.

After an intense investigation, police determined Smollett staged the entire episode with the help of two brothers, whom he paid to take part in the hoax assault, in an elaborate effort to drum up publicity for his middling career. After prosecutors dropped the case in March, Smollett maintained his innocence but agreed to let authorities keep a $10,000 bail.

He was charged with filing a false police report, but those charges were dropped by Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx a few weeks later.

We all know Foxx botched this ordeal from beginning to end. Suddenly, her office dropped all charges just weeks after Smollett was indicted on 16 counts of disorderly conduct related to filing a false police report. Both the Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson and Mayor Rahm Emanuel were blown away by Foxx’s blatant disregard for the city’s interest. Emanuel called it a “whitewash of justice,” which is putting it mildly.

Connections
Yet, no amount of backlash prompted Foxx to reconsider her position. Because Smollett’s connections run deep and wide. He’s somehow linked to everyone from Maxine Waters to the Obamas. Thus, Smollett has nothing to apologize for. It’s perfectly acceptable for a leftist to waste $130,000 of tax payer dollars. (Just look at the damages Obama himself dished out.)

Further, Smollett now demands a refund for the $10,000 bail he agreed to forfeit. All because he’s got connections?

According to Smollett, Chicago PD “over-investigated” the events. And his fancy lawyers continue to push that assertion.
As I previously explained:

Sadly, these lawyers have the audacity to claim Smollett is innocent, despite the fact that the story unraveled publicly. Now, he is widely recognized as a liar. And just in case the court recognizes Smollett’s dishonesty, the lawyers have a laughable reason why their client shouldn’t cough up the $130,000 the city lost.

…the latest court filing contends even if Smollett did make a false report, there is no way the city can assert he would have known the city would investigate — and investigate it to the extent cops did.

“We contend the city is wrong.” Quinlan said of the city’s assertion that Smollett should have known the police would log nearly 2,000 hours in overtime trying to resolve the case. “ … The mere fact somebody filed a police report doesn’t presume the investigation will be done and certainly not to the extent of what the city is claiming.”

He added: “Smollett has no control over that.”

No control? Imagine the fallout had police not investigated? Because they smelled a rat pretty early on.

Smollett’s Future
It’s pathetic when you think about it. Smollett tied up police time and resources, thus impeding other investigations. Meanwhile, all he lost was a job. And they didn’t even admit he was FIRED. That was white-washed too. Smollett faces literally no consequences for his behavior. And since his sorry ass didn’t sit in jail, he now seeks a reward for his poorly acted plot. Talk about a slap in the face!

Maybe Democrats are missing the big picture here. Smollett has all the makings of a left-side presidential candidate.

Foxx kicks off re-election bid — and tiptoes closer to mea culpa in Jussie Smollett case
Foxx also blamed President Trump, the Fraternal Order of Police and the National Rifle Association for undercutting “progress” in Cook County in a two-minute kickoff ad.

Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx has slowly trickled towards admitting she could have handled the Jussie Smollett case better.
And on Tuesday — in announcing her re-election bid — Foxx went further than before.

“Truth is, I didn’t handle it well. I own that,” Foxx says of the investigation in a two-minute digital ad. “I’m making changes in my office to make sure we do better. That’s what reform is about.”

Foxx has been extremely careful about her wording in admitting any problems or responsibility in the handling of the Smollett investigation. Accused of making a false report to police, the former “Empire” actor was indicted in March on 16 counts of disorderly conduct. Weeks later, the state’s attorney’s office abruptly dropped the charges, sparking outrage as well as confusion.

Foxx has endured months of criticism because she discussed the case with one of Smollett’s family members at the urging of Tina Tchen, a Chicago lawyer and activist who had once served as chief of staff for first lady Michelle Obama. Foxx publicly stated she had recused herself from Smollett’s case, a decision the state’s attorney had made just days before the actor was charged.

It’s a case that has created instant campaign fodder, and it’s already prompted challengers.

There’s also been an evolution of responses from Foxx. In March, the state’s attorney defended prosecutors’ decision to drop charges: “I think that there is a lot of confusion,” she said on WBEZ, adding there was a “slim” chance Smollett would have received jail time.

At a press conference in August, Foxx called the amount of time spent on the case “unfortunate.” And asked if she had any regrets, Foxx said “I look forward to whatever lessons have been learned and implementing that.”

She shifted a bit last month: “I’m not going to say we didn’t make a mistake,” Foxx said at a North Side dinner, according to Politico. “We could have done better. We should have done better. I own that.”

Foxx on Tuesday announced her re-election bid in a digital ad and email to supporters. She also took square aim at the National Rifle Association, the Fraternal Order of Police and President Trump in the two-minute ad.

Foxx said the personal attacks she’s endured over the Smollett investigation are about “stopping progress in Cook County.” And in the ad, Foxx touts her accomplishments, including more violent crimes being prosecuted and more gun crime prosecutions.

“Every day my office is under attack, from a president who uses our city as a punching bag. The NRA, hell bent on letting guns flood our streets. And the FOP, clinging to old ways. They’ll do anything to undercut progress, including attacking me personally over the Jussie Smollett case,” Foxx says.

Earlier this year, the Fraternal Order of Police joined suburban police chiefs in demanding the state’s attorney’s resignation over her handling of the Smollett case. The FOP has also demanded a federal investigation into her handling of the matter. And Trump, as recently as last month blasted the city in a speech at the International Association of Chiefs of Policeconvention. Compared to Chicago, “Afghanistan is a safe place” Trump said as he hit Chicago for being a sanctuary city and welcoming immigrants, regardless of their legal status.

And citing an embarrassing chapter for Chicago police, Trump, too, brought up the investigation into Smollett.

“It’s a scam,” Trump said. “It is a real big scam just like the impeachment of your president is a scam.”

And while Foxx tries to distance herself from the controversial case, it may not be out of the headlines just yet. The disputed facts could be aired in a number of other courtrooms. The city under former Mayor Rahm Emanuel filed a civil lawsuit against the actor, demanding that he pay $160,000 spent on police overtime investigating his case. And two brothers who claim Smollett hired them to fake the hate crime attack have sued the actor’s Hollywood lawyers for defamation.

Jussie Smollett indicted on new charges over alleged 2019 attack
Smollett is again facing charges in connection to a 2019 Chicago police report in which he claimed he was the victim of a racist and homophobic hate crime.

Actor Jussie Smollett is once again facing charges in Chicago in connection to a January 2019 police report in which he claimed he was the victim of a racist and homophobic hate crime.

Smollett was indicted by a grand jury on six disorderly conduct charges on Tuesday, according to the office of Special Prosecutor Dan Webb. The 37-year-old actor is already facing a $130,000 lawsuit with the city of Chicago, the cost of the resources police and prosecutors claim it took to investigate Smollett's false charge.

The former "Empire" star told police in January 2019 that he was attacked by two men hurling racial and homophobic slurs at him and wrapping a rope around his neck at about 2 a.m. in the upscale neighborhood of Streeterville.

Chicago police initially said they were looking into the attack as an alleged hate crime, but were unable to find any video evidence of the incident. After police interviewed two persons of interest in the case, Nigerian brothers Ola and Abel Osundairo, authorities shifted the investigation into whether the actor paid the brothers to stage an assault.

In February of last year, Smollett was charged with felony disorderly conduct for the allegedly false report he made with Chicago police.

Former Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie T. Johnson accused the actor of staging the attack on himself in order to "promote his career." Police said Smollett paid the Osundairo brothers $3,500 to orchestrate the attack.

A grand jury indicted Smollett in March on 16 felony counts of disorderly conduct for making a false report but all charges were unexpectedly dropped just weeks later, angering police and some city officials. A Cook County judge appointed Webb as the special prosecutor in the case in August.

Smollett has denied making up the attack and is countersuing the city of Chicago.

Top FBI Child Trafficking & Child Prostitution Task Force Chief helped Chicago PD investigate Smollett hoax. Did Jussie Rat Out Hollywood?
https://truepundit.com/top-fbi-child-sex-trafficking-did-jussie-rat-out-hollywood/

The Jussie Smollett case just got even more bizarre with potential troubling revelations.

Internal Chicago Police records show detectives employed a top FBI Supervisory Special Agent specializing in investigating the trafficking of sexually exploited children, child prostitution and aggravated child sexual abuse to help investigate the Smollett assault hoax case.

During early stages of the investigation, records show, Chicago Police shared Intel with the FBI and FBI Special Agent Gregory Wing was working the investigation daily alongside city detectives.

But Wing supervises the Child Sex Crimes and Violent Crimes Against Children squad in the FBI’s Chicago Field Office and is considered one of the top agents investigating child sex trafficking in the country, according to the FBI.

What is one of FBI’s premier child sex crimes and child sex trafficking investigators doing working an assault case? Wing and his FBI task force track down high-profile pedophiles and pimps. He doesn’t intervene with local assault cases.

One internal Chicago PD document from the Smollett case states: “Per request of FBI Special Agent Greg Wing, the forwarded a copy of the search warrant Number 19SW5223, which was issued pertaining to the Apple Incorporated held iCloud account controlled by Jussie Smollett to FBI analyst Mariella Lopez via email … The received an email reply indicating receipt of this document.”

The question is why is Wing working an assault case with Chicago Police? And what did one of the FBI’s top sex crimes investigator want with a subpoena on Smollett’s phone records? Or Smollett’s phone records?
