I have a few Libertads (Ag). I was thinking of finding a LCS to see if they would be willing to trade few generic rounds for them. I have no inclination to like one form of Ag over another. But see an opportunity to increase overall Ag amount in a trade.

Have any of you done anything like this?

What are your thoughts?

I haven't traded.
What your asking is if a dealer may give you more pre ounce for the libertads then receive more silver in the end after a trade.
Maybe? every dealer would be different.
You may be better off finding a libertad collector.
Maybe sell outright and buy generic.

Agree with Coopersmith. If I had a desire to carry some coinage in my pocket to soothe my soul, I would surely trade some bullion silver for it. Assuming I could find it again in the lake.

Pretty good years.
I'd say you have a little premium that you could convert into generics if that's what you wanted.

A 25%/35% premium could be achieved depending on the buyers wants.

Going the 'sell outright and buy generic' is preferred and your first option, whether an LCS or 'just somebody'

Just for info JMBullion is buying random year 1oz Libertads for $25.29
Their sell price for varied condition any mint silver rounds is $23.88 buying 1-19 rounds. Buy 500+ rounds you pay $22.88.

JMBullion best sell price for random year 1oz Libertads is $45.28. Good deal for JMBullion.

Same for SAE's. Say one could sell them for $30 & buy Generic for $23.
100 SAE's @ $30=$3000-$3000 could get you approx 130 OZ of generic.
All hypothetical.

Another road. Sell SAE's @ 30 FRN's, buy Gold Buffalo @ $1860 FRN's
GSR is then around 62/1, that's SAE/Buffalo Ratio...Even better on Brittanias or Krugs.
Forgive me for the thread drift.

I like the tads. Have a roll from 83 or 84 then a bunch of others from random years. Buy them from the banks whenever I am south of the border as well. It's nice to walk into a bank with toilet paper and walk out with real money.
If I could get 45 an oz though I would probably let them go. Then buy an oz of gold and a couple kilos of silver.

I remember it was less than here but don't recall exactly. 1 1/2 or 2 bucks maybe. Far less than the 25 we are seeing here now. LOL. I think spot was 14 and change one year when I was there and I paid 16 for a bunch of them.

Might be worth a short vacation.
