Reminds me of a job I had once years ago working weekend night shift. In the spring at the start of DST when we sprang forward we’d get paid the extra hour we didn’t work!!!

Knew a old timer when we were younger and one day we visited him and made a offhand comment about 'time flying'. He was about 80 and scoffed, he says as a little kid in school class last forever it seems, as you age and guage everything by your total intellect time starts to go faster, he said for him the day just flew by. My twin and I looked at each other and said GREAT (not really).

Unless you live at one of the poles....then you would way a lot more. Of course, this doesn't actually translate to real life....it's almost as if there is no spinning at all. But it's fun to pretend.

I like this question. Someone makes a claim. Another disputes the claim. So we have the beginning of a story. But... Does the outcome affect me in any way? If not, I will just go with the old news until there is a reason to choose a new version.

Heat radiation, much of the hottest points sit in depressions. The Highest points are small compared to the Earth's surface and get little of the ambient heat from the ground the Earth holds. The poles get the least direct sunlight, and stay snow covered year round.
