I found a tube of 2016 SE's locally. Just a little at a time without the huge premiums. Not a big find, but a good one. Anybody else finding any local buys?

Nice finds Will. Must be nice to go to a coin shop. There aren't any around here. I found a clad proof 2012 S in a coinstar tray. That's about the only shiny I've seen lately. I haven't been hunting much anyway.

I located a source by finding contacts through Craigslist. The particular seller no longer advertises but wants to sell bits of his stack to supplement his income. This guy is older than me by more than a few years.

So, when I scrape together a few frn's, I give him a call and ask what he is willing to sell and for how much.

So, I have been taking my own advice since the LCS in my area have mark-ups that are way too high for me.

bring him a snack / meal if it's appropriate, that'll help secure your 'friendship'

nice find on both fronts, you also never know what other opportunities that may open up for you, old people know other old people, etc

and the guy with the firm handshake, big smile, good conversation with the free snacks that everyone is talking about, that guy buying things, he's the guy to 'go to'

:2 thumbs up:

I picked up a couple of tunes of Sioux Nation Buffalos and a tube of American Eagles.

i'm not being critical of you Will but when taking photos of the precious, sometimes that background color will make all the shiny look like this, i'm dyslexic

i've taken lots of pm photos and the bg color will easily kill an hour of time before i can get it right...it's not always the same either, the lighting, etc...probably because i've got a cheap digital camera, but silver sure does some strange things with light

i've had flaws show up in a picture that i didn't see on the coin before, lighting and background colors reflect weirdly off of silver - chameleon coins, i call them

note to self:
you're not the only one where a blue bg, doesn't work...

Yep, you are correct. My only excuse is doing it quickly.

mine too, i want to rush through the batches of 44 pictures for 7 auctions... that's why i would even notice it would take that long to get the right shot

i've been selling on line since 2003, i'm not frugal, but why buy something when i've already got one? that ideology just kicks my ass sometimes...

here's where i'm at:
black background with good focus and lighting...ohhhh, now we're talking

i can take those photos all day, until i run into a slab with a blue label, or a too white label and too dark a coin...all bets are off and there's goes another hour

LOL

metals porn...
ewwww and there is no help for it, neither gun porn.

They say admitting it is the first step backwards.....but then who in their mind would want tp go backward?

On a side note, digression or a side bar... If I comes be4 E except after C then why does I come after E while C is not around? sorry should have went to the joke thread. my bad....

E's a bully who's actually a coward and is afraid of C, C is a Control Freak, hence, the C, I has no say so, I just follows the rules

and, i'll have you know, some of my best journeys began with a backwards step...we (me and the mouse in my pocket) don't remember anything about any of the other journeys that were started off by going backwards...just the best ones

mostly because
sometimes i ended up back at the beginning, without my boots

Both LCSs in my town are gone, one retired, the other quit because of being robbed - in spite of precautions taken.

Nice find WillA2! Seems nice finds are fewer and farther between these days.
