...uh good luck with that. Price inflation is likely 15% and tesla cars are horribly overpriced, particularly as the electrical grid cannot handle a bunch of EVs.
I would question why anyone wants shares of a car builder with such a rich valuation particularly in a rising rate environment, but I recognize that most TSLA investors don't actually care about valuation. A valuation I have at roughly $460(which is generous btw). That's about 75% higher than the current share price even with the recent overdue smack down. I mean, even Musk had the sense to take some profits...and I don't see him plowing funds back in.

True, yet the lower energy density of LiFePO4 virtually guarantees that Li-on will continue to have major market share for some time to come...particularly in applications where space is at a premium.

Agree it NCM will still have significant market share for a while. Evidenced by GM just signing a major contract with Glencore to supply cobalt.
On the other hand, I think lifepo4 is already in the majority of EV's in china - largest EV market in the world.
BYD's blade battery and other leading-edge Lifepo4 have considerably improved energy density.
People are also going to figure out the stated range of NCM and LFP are not equivalent.
LFP can be charged/discharged from 100% to 0% with almost no degradation. While NCM you want to bounce the charge between 20%-80% in order to avoid degradation. Fast charging also less damaging with LFP. So, the functional range on a daily basis is more equivalent than it looks.
I think you'll see more of what Tesla is already doing - LFP for lower end models and NCM for higher end models.
They might beat again if the commies get their way and send oil to $200+ dollars and $10 gas. But I think they will hit the demand wall here soon. All the fanboys got their cars.

You're probably right about who cares. Disagree on performance - it's a tradeoff of one performance metric for another.
You give up 10 miles of range, but life of the battery might be double with the LFP. Significantly lower fire risk.

Fads don't last. Remember when there were waiting lists to buy a minivan? Before that, when Mustangs were selling way above MSRPs, back in the 1960s.
Later, the Chrysler PT Cruiser. Five years, from when the first year's production was all sold before assembly, to when they couldn't give them away.
Somewhere in there, FWD econoboxes. When Dodge/Plymouth came out with their VW Rabbit clone, they had planned using VW engines, since they couldn't afford to tool up their own. They had a contract, so many engines.
That turned out to be not enough by half; so Lido Iacocca went to Peugeot, and bought a second batch of engines...not nearly as good. The first of what turned out to be many missteps of modern Chrysler.
But that's fads. Once the bloom is off the rose, and Tesla has to advertise, same as everyone else...and needs a fresh model, and doesn't have the cash flow for it...what will happen, if we're not at war with China by then, will be that a CCP company will come forward and buy the name and intellectual rights, and that will be it for Tesla. Musk will have made his money; the last holders of Tesla stock will be the gulls.

This thread is 3 years old and nothing but predictions of the imminent demise of Tesla. 3 years ago, it was a reasonable assumption that Tesla would soon be out of business. But in that time the stock price has gone from $200 to about $5,000 if you adjust for the 5-for-1 stock split. So that's 25x in 3 years. They have essentially no debt and just opened two of the largest and most advanced factories ever, built entirely out of cash flow. It is more likely the CCP buys out GM than Tesla.
