Victoria's Wish

https://youtu.be/ujfWjmwOgm8

Published on May 20, 2015
As a result of the wildly popular "Shake It Off" Video, the Dover Police Department heard about 13 year-old Victoria Marsh. Victoria has down syndrome, and was recently diagnosed with Osteosarcoma; a form of bone cancer. She is actually just 1 of 3 people in the US with both down syndrome and Osteosarcoma. Her wish is to meet Taylor Swift. We wanted to send Victoria to a Taylor Swift concert, but her doctors can't let her go because of the chemo treatments. She gave the tickets to her sisters for their support. So we made this video in hopes that Taylor Swift will see it and Facetime or meet Victoria when she stops in Philadelphia on her tour. Please share and use #SwiftAWish #TeamVictoria and help make Victoria's wish come true.

A $100,000 check awaits mystery recycler of rare Apple 1 computer

By Fiona Ortiz

(Reuters) - A $100,000 check is waiting for a mystery woman who donated a rare Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) 1 computer to a Silicon Valley recycling firm.

CleanBayArea in Milpitas, California, is trying to track down a woman in her 60s who dropped off some electronic goods in April, when she was cleaning out the garage after her husband died.

In one of the boxes, buried under worthless keyboards, personal computer pieces and wires, was a 1976 Apple 1, a groundbreaking home computer. Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak designed and hand-built the computers and sold them for $666.66 each. Only a few dozen are known still to exist.

The recycling firm sold the Apple for $200,000 in a private auction. Its policy is to split the proceeds 50-50 with the person who donated the equipment.

"The body was made out of wood. I've never seen anything like that. My first reaction was it was a fake. Then we started looking at it," said Victor Gichun, vice president of marketing for CleanBayArea.

Gichun declined to say who bought the Apple 1, only that it was a private collector. He's not sure whether the Apple is still operational.

He said he will recognize the woman, who he believes is local, when he sees her and will write her out a check for $100,000.

The boxes sat in the company's warehouse on a pallet for a couple of weeks because they didn't expect to find anything valuable, Gichun said.

There's a huge 'gathering of the clans' of the Shuswap indians about a mile from here. Tousands and tousands, almost five hunnert. :haha: I was invited so I took my old horse (named Chief) down there and gave the kids rides. Chief is a really high powered roping horse, better know what you're doing if you get on him, but those little kids swarmed him and he never moved. Little indian kids hanging off his legs and he never moved a foot. hoof. Absolutely great horse.

Good guy. If only we had more people like that in this world. More people who gave a damn about others and went the extra step. Knowing that they could go that extra step to help someone in need instead of the canned response "The tower won't let me, "TSA won't let me" "DHS won't let me" "company policy won't let me." We have become a country and culture of BS policy following sheep where we forgot that, yes we can actually do that instead of living by a 1,000 page company policy manual.

'I don't think of it as heroic': Jamie Foxx describes the moment he rescued driver from burning truck with seconds to spare
Published: 12:32 EST, 19 January 2016 | Updated: 08:17 EST, 20 January 2016

The Oscar-winning actor was at his home in Thousand Oaks, California when he heard a car crash The 48-year-old ran to the scene of the fiery crash, and with another Good Samaritan, helped pull victim Brett Kyle, 32, from the vehicle Foxx spoke out about the crash on Tuesday, as he met Kyle's father From his hospital bed, Kyle said of Foxx: 'Just the fact that one human being is willing to help another one means a lot to me' After he is discharged, Kyle will face drunk driving charges

By Rachel Mcgrath For Dailymail.com

Jamie Foxx has spoken publicly about how he rescued a man from a burning vehicle after it crashed right outside his luxury home but insisted he is not a hero.

The Oscar-winning actor told local LA news reporters that he just did what he had to do when he rushed to the aid of a driver trapped inside his pick up truck that was already on fire.

'I don't think of it as heroic,' he told NBC4.

Real life action man: Jamie Foxx met with local news reporters outside his luxury home on Tuesday and described how he rescued a man from a fiery wreck outside his front gates on Monday night

Fiery wreck: A 32-year-old man was trapped inside his rolled over pickup truck after crashing on the rural road near Los Angeles and it was already on fire when help arrived on scene

Foxx, 48, and another man used EMT scissors to break the truck's window and then, Foxx told ABC7, 'I climbed in and I try to hit his seat belt but he's huddled over it so I grab the scissors and cut the seatbelt.'

'We cut if off from his neck and then, as the flames do come into the cabin, I lean back,' the Ray star added.

'I think what (the seatbelt) did, it hit his legs which made him extend and when he extends, he extends out of the cabin. We pull him out and as we pull him out, within five seconds later, the truck goes up.'

The Hollywood star revealed to LA station NBC4 that as he pulled the man from the wreckage, he told him: 'You have angels around you.'

Quick thinking: The actor, 48, heard the crash and alerted emergency services before running to the scene of the accident and with another man, broke a front window of the truck and cut the man free from his seatbelt

Close shave: The star of Ray and Collateral described how he manged to pull the driver to safety seconds before the flames reached the cab

Played it down: Foxx said he wasn't a hero; he just did something he had to do

Heartfelt: The actor shared this emotional photo on his Facebook page Tuesday night and once again played down his heroism in a touching message to his fans

Ventura County firefighters and paramedics arrived on scene and the victim, named by law enforcement as Brett Kyle, 32, of Newbury Park, was transported to the Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center in nearby Thousand Oaks.

He was found to have a broken collarbone and a punctured lung and remained in the hospital Tuesday night.

The CHP says he has been charged with DUI.

From the hospital, Kyle spoke with NBC 4 to express his gratitude towards Foxx, who he says he didn't recognize in the chaos.

'They cut me out of the seatbelt,' Kyle said. 'I didn't know who it was.'

'Just the fact that one human being is willing to help another one means a lot to me,' he added.

Solo wreck: Fire fighters arrived on scene and extinguished the flames. The 32-year-old driver was transported to hospital and later cited for DUI

Isolated area: The accident occurred on a stretch of rural road in the exclusive community of Hidden Valley

Meeting: Foxx met with the father of the driver on Tuesday at his home where he showed him surveillance video of the crash that had been captured by cameras on his property

Grateful: An emotional Brad Kyle, father of 32-year-old Brett Kyle, thanked Foxx for saving his son's life

Embracing: At the end of their meeting, Kyle's father gave Foxx a hug near the scene of the crash

Meanwhile, Brett's father Brad Kyle visited with Foxx at his upscale estate on Tuesday afternoon to thank him for saving his son's life.

Afterwards, an emotional Brad told reporters: 'It doesn't matter to me who it was or what they do for a living. Just the idea that someone would do that is so much more than I could fathom.'

His said his son has three siblings.

'They would have lost their brother if it wasn't for him,' he said.
