Did anyone watch the story of us on the history channel last night? They started with the Revolutionary war.. It was a very good show. It made you realize our Founding Fathers were Revolutionaries, hell raisers and they would be so disappointed the American people have given away what they fought so hard for.

I will watch the rest of the series. My only complaint was Obama came on afterwards to make commentary.. How ironic the biggest socialist in history commented on the Revolutionary War.

one thing that really caught my attention on last nights show was the fact that when the British occupied NYC the price of food went up 800%. It really makes you consider the importance of having food preps. Life was so bad in NYC during occupation that 1 in 5 woman became prostitutes.

I watched maybe an hour of it and then had to go to bed. From what I saw, it was very entertaining and educational. I would definitely watch another episode.

I watched it. I liked it. But actually, Obama came on BEFORE the show. The Obama clip you saw after the show was actually the beginning of a second showing.

And what's wrong with the president speaking for 30 seconds before a program that showcases what makes America awesome?? I think that's a VERY appropriate place for a president to speak.

Not just the food preps, but weapons too. Did you see the part about how the frontiersmen has super accurate sniper rifles, and they about to pick apart the British officers and their Native American guides, leaving them in total disarray. Those muskets weren't standard issue military fare.

I think Obama speaking in relation to anything having to do with freedom when he is in the process of shoving an unconstitutional health care bill down out throats is rather a bad idea..

Have a little patience, sheesh! If it's unconstitutional, it will reach the Supreme Court in time, and be struck down.

Great show, looks incredible on the HD! I agree with Avalon. If only our founding fathers could see where we are now, yikes! Looking forward to watching the rest of the series. I think there are 5 more episodes. Wonder if they will show how and why the Fed was really created? lol

I didn't like the shill that was taking place for BoA. I know they are the sponsors and that's why the producers didn't go further in explaining the money issue. Whatever. - Good entertainment.

Tell me about it. But I'm 100% positive that those were advertisements (commercials) and NOT actually part of the program. I really hate banks.

If you want real history go to Ebay and buy antique history books. I haven't watch the show yet but I imagine there is some revisionist tripe in it. Use extreme caution when learning history from the MSM because the MSM is owned by the bankers who have subverted this country and its Constitution.

I see this sort of thing bandied about everywhere on these forums, that Obama is a socialist, can you provide some evidence to support that accusation or are yout just using rhetoric for dramatic purposes. Do you know what a socialist is?

And dont use Obamacare as an example, that is not socialized medcine, there was no govt mandated option and it was in fact more of a gift to big pharma and the insurance industry than it was for the people, which is anything but socialism and is in fact good old american free market capiltalism, the exploitation of the poor to distribute wealth from the bottom to the top, again, anything BUT socialism. What exactly has he done that socialist? Nothing. Obama is not a socialist, he is just a better looking smooth talking version of Bushco.

If you want to talk socialism you need to go back to FDR and the new deal.


More on topic, the history channel show wa subpar at best, they didnt get many of the facts straight, its romanticized hollywood version of our nation's history.

...and while you're at it...get some OLD law dictionaries so you can understand the meaning
of the words they used in the construction of the laws. Most likely - unlike today - they also had the same
meaning in common usage....
