Even better, Trump checked with the descendant of Pocahontis

"It turns out that an actual descendant of Pocahontas does not take any offense to President Donald Trump jokingly referring to Elizabeth Warren as “Pocahontas.”

In a September interview with Sky News, Debbie “White Dove” Porreco said that Trump once asked her if it offended her that he used the name “Pocahontas” to refer to the Democratic senator.

“I know that he uses ‘Pocahontas’ sometimes with Elizabeth Warren,” Porreco explained. “He said, ‘well does that offend you when I use that?’ And I told him no, it doesn’t offend me.”"

In today's local rag.............

Trump has ushered in America’s darkest hour

By Richard Cohen

If every member of the Senate looks into the mirror and sees a future president, then every president looks into that same mirror and sees himself on Mount Rushmore. Donald Trump, a mess of a man but brimming with self-regard, probably already sees himself up there with Washington, Jefferson, Teddy Roosevelt and Lincoln. It won’t happen. Instead, he’d be lucky if he can get his face on a mug in the gift shop.

It just so happens that we have a gauge of what constitutes a great president. It was compiled years ago (1962) by the historian Arthur Schlesinger Sr., who surveyed 75 of his fellow historians on the subject of presidential greatness. They came up with eight categories. Suffice it to say that Trump whiffs every one, the last being the requirement that he “possessed a profound sense of history.” Next president, please.

With Trump only in office for about one year, it’s impossible to rate him on some of the other categories. For example, it’s not yet clear if he’s “held stage at a critical moment in American history” — although it is entirely possible that his very presidency is itself a critical moment. Still, it is pretty clear that he will not measure up to the presidents the historian named as great — Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson and Thomas Jefferson.

More interesting to me is whether he will sink to the bottom. So far, just in terms of metrics and compared to some predecessors, he’s not doing that bad. George W. Bush, a charming and utterly gracious man, was a catastrophic twofer. He took the U.S. to war in Iraq, a wrenching debacle: more than 4,000 Americans dead, nearly 32,000 wounded and the Middle East destabilized with Iranian influence enhanced. Then, too, Bush presided over a profound economic recession — not his decision, certainly, but Herbert Hoover didn’t ask for the Depression, either.

Trump’s numbers may turn out to be just as bad — or worse. But so far the economy is humming along, the stock market is soaring and a tax bill is on the horizon. Just in economic terms, nothing has happened yet to convince Trump voters that they made a mistake. In fact, some of the tonier ones — modern day robber barons and such — are smugly satisfied. The president is doing what he can to destroy both bad and good regulations, the only exception being the ban on importing trophy elephant parts. It stands.

If any of that is good then it is more than offset by lots of bad. The U.S. is rudderless in world affairs. It stands alone in doing nothing to combat man-made climate change. It has withdrawn from or rebuffed trade agreements. It has a secretary of state who is hollowing out his department so that foreign diplomats, both at the United Nations and in Washington, wander the halls seeking someone with whom to do business. The remaining cabinet officers are similarly weakened or, perversely, determined to undo their predecessor’s good work. It is a political autoimmune problem.

To fully understand how grandly Trump has failed as president, it is useful to see the thrilling new film about Winston Churchill, “Darkest Hour.” It is set in 1940, in the days when Britain is deciding whether to sue for peace with Nazi Germany or continue a war it may badly lose. What was at stake, as Churchill recognized, was the very meaning of what it meant to be British. In two famous speeches, Churchill rallied his countrymen. As Edward R. Murrow once observed, Churchill “mobilized the English language and sent it into battle.” It was, at the time, about the only weapon Britain had.

The contrast to Trump is stark. (Yes, I know, no one’s a Churchill.) But Trump has made us a meaner, smaller people. He tweets the language of the school yard. It is full of resentment and bravado. He asks nothing of us. Instead, he validates meanness, opportunism and prejudice. At the moment, for instance, he asks us to disbelieve the many women who have accused Roy Moore of sexual harassment or what amounts to pedophilia. It is a squalid effort -- just plain dirty.

There are no metrics to gauge this sort of thing. A moral gloom, as thick as a London fog of Churchill’s time, has settled over America. It cannot be measured. Only names can be counted — the people who supported Trump and now the ones who say nothing. Moral principle has been replaced by political cowardice. This is our darkest hour.

This should have been titled, "pick the three who don't belong".

We need a new thread titled,
" Britian is Toast before 2020 "
Parallel to the Germany thread. ( kidding but serious also..and France, Sweden, etc )
WTF is it that people do not get about this stuff in the bigger picture ?
I get the stuff about the POTUS being more " diplomatic" etc etc etc.
BUT,
Maybe we still have not let go of that Pomp and Circumwhatever stuff about Kings and Queens.
Cling to your cherished delusions while your whole country and culture dissolves before your own very eyes like water through your bare hands.
Great overall plan.
Times have changed. People do not see it. For the life of me...I do not see how they cannot.

The libtards are completely off the rails. Some idiot posted a letter written by a Moore accuser who appeared on the today show with a sexual deviant harasser who thinks just because said accuser wrote & appeared with said pervert that Moore is guilty.(Whew)
All these posters do is parrot cnn, salon, huffpo & have absolutely no original thoughts of their own, I'll bet their mothers have to dress them in the morning.
The snowflakes are more interested in Pres.Trump calling a fake, lying scum dem/commie Pocahantas than their own lib/commie deviant thieving senators & congressmen. Whatever they can do to obstruct Trump.

Hey Libtards..The beast lost...Get over it.

In defense of Sarah Huckabee Sanders

By Emily Miller
Thursday
Posted at 6:00 AM

Sarah Huckabee Sanders lied about baking a chocolate pecan pie for Thanksgiving. The White House press secretary further ruined the national holiday by humiliating the press corps by asking them why they are grateful.

While none of this is true, attacking Sanders personally has become the media’s latest and lowest method of attacking President Donald Trump.

“Piegate” started after Sanders shared a picture on Thursday of a chocolate pecan pie with the caption, “I dont cook much these days, but managed this Chocolate Pecan Pie for Thanksgiving at the family farm!”

April Ryan, the American Urban Radio Networks correspondent and a CNN political analyst, tweeted at Sanders the next day: “Show it to us on a table.”

She then added, “I am not trying to be funny but folks are already saying #piegate and #fakepie Show it to us on the table with folks eating it and a pic of you cooking it.”

Ryan’s insinuation that Sanders used a stock photo launched a viral debate involving every nook and cranny of the crust and glazed pecan top of the pie.

Sanders responded to the second tweet with grace: “Don’t worry @AprilDRyan because I’m nice I’ll bake one for you next week ;-) #RealPie #FakeNews.”

The media freaks out every time the White House uses the term “fake news” to mean “liberal biased news,” but in this case, a CNN analyst was actually spreading fake news, which is information that has not been sourced or reported and has no basis in fact.

Ryan’s fake news was so influential that other liberal media kept the rolling pin going. On Saturday, MSNBC’s Joy Reid, said she “cannot verify whether or not Sanders baked that pie.”

Did anyone at MSNBC call the White House and ask? Fox News’ Todd Stearns did, and Sanders told him, “Of course I made the pie.” She added that, “I make it for every holiday family gathering and have for years.”

Sanders was also attacked for asking reporters, in a pre-Thanksgiving briefing, to state what they were thankful for before asking their questions. Sanders started by saying she was thankful for, among other things, the people in the room, her faith and family. Reporters almost all responded in kind, which gave the usually antagonistic briefing room a kinder atmosphere.

Sanders is a practicing Christian, who prays before she does the daily briefing, so one would think she would be given the benefit of the doubt in understanding this as a good-will effort to transcend partisanship.

That’s not what happened.

Post columnist Dana Milbank called the gesture “infantilizing of the press corps” and wrote he’s “profoundly thankful that Trump and so many of his appointees have turned out to be incompetent.” Well, that’s quite the Thanksgiving spirit.

Piling on, his colleague Kathleen Parker said Sanders’s request was “candy-coating her usual condescension with faux fellowship.” Parker used the rest of her column to criticize every aspect of Sanders’sprofessional skills and recommended that she be replaced with — naturally — a journalist.

The Thanksgiving nastiness wasn’t even the lowest the media sank in its attacks on Sanders.

Earlier this month, Los Angeles Times writer David Horsey began his piece: “Sarah Huckabee Sanders does not look like the kind of woman Donald Trump would choose as his chief spokesperson.” He went on to say she “looks more like a slightly chunky soccer mom who organizes snacks for the kids’ games.”

The backlash to this piece, especially the reference to Sanders’ weight, was so swift that the Times deleted all of it from the column and added an apology from the author. This is not standard procedure in newspapers. The as-written text normally stays in the piece, unless factually incorrect. There’s no way the Times did this because it cares about Trump supporters. It cares about female readership. And we don’t like men judging our weight and appearance at work.

The media hostility toward Sanders really has nothing to do with her but stems from its barely concealed hatred for Trump. So they want a Trump spokesperson to perform badly. But Sanders is effective in the way she does not give an inch in defense of the president, while keeping her cool and appearing unfazed. That means she gives the media few sound bites to nourish liberal cable shows and late-night television. She ducks and dodges when needed, which is part of the job.

Sanders has thick skin and a strong faith. None of these personal attacks appear to get to her, no matter how low and mean. She knows her purpose is to defend and promote the policies of the president and the administration. At some point, the elite pundit class in the media will realize that in attacking Sanders, they are the ones who end up looking bad.

Emily Miller is a journalist and the author of “Emily Gets Her Gun.” She was also the deputy press secretary at the State Department in the George W. Bush administration.

Communist leftists are all about the personal attacks. They attack but recoil when they're attacked and claim to be victims.

The only way they'll go away!

Why should anyone care what come out of 'universities' any longer. They aren't centers of education, they're communist indoctrination centers, plain and simple, and people pay shameful fees to attend them. Sad!

Across the pond...........

Anglican Minister Urges Prayers for Prince George to Be Gay
By ALAN COWELL
DEC. 1, 2017

LONDON — A prominent Anglican cleric and gay rights campaigner known for contentious gestures has urged believers to pray for Prince George — age 4, and third in line to the throne — to find the love “of a fine young gentleman” when he grows up so as to advance the cause of same-sex marriage in church.

Coming just days after Prince Harry — George’s uncle, and fifth in line — announced his engagement to Meghan Markle, a divorced American actress, the suggestion by the Very Rev. Kelvin Holdsworth seemed to illuminate once more the role of royal romance in Britain’s imagination and conversation, especially when it collides with tradition.

Prince Harry and Ms. Markle have said they will marry in May at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, west of London. But it is only since 2002 that the Church of England has permitted church marriages for divorced people, “in exceptional circumstances” at the discretion of parish priests. The church teaching is that marriage is for life.

While same-sex marriage is permitted by law in most of Britain, the Church of England says on its website, “it remains the case that it is not legally possible for same-sex couples to marry” in its churches.

Mr. Holdsworth, the provost of St. Mary’s Cathedral in Glasgow, belongs to the Scottish Episcopal Church, a separate province of the Anglican Communion that voted in June to let its priests solemnize same-sex marriages.

In his campaign to expand on that change, Mr. Holdsworth wrote in a blog post on Thursday that believers could “pray in the privacy of their hearts (or in public if they dare) for the Lord to bless Prince George with a love, when he grows up, of a fine young gentleman.” Prince George is the elder child of Prince William and the former Catherine Middleton, now called the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

“A royal wedding might sort things out remarkably easily, though we might have to wait 25 years for that to happen,” Mr. Holdsworth wrote. “Who knows whether that might be sooner than things might work out by other means.”

His suggestion was widely reported in the British media on Friday, though the blog on which he made it seemed inaccessible Friday morning.

Mr. Holdsworth caused a frisson among some of the faithful in January when he permitted a reading from the Quran during a service that included a rebuttal of the Christian belief that Jesus was the son of God.

His latest comments also drew the outrage of more traditional clerics. The Rev. Gavin Ashenden, a former royal chaplain, called the comments unchristian.

“To pray for Prince George to grow up in that way” is to “pray in a way that would disable and undermine his constitutional and personal role,” he told Christian Today, an online news provider, particularly when part of the expectation that the prince would inherit would be “to produce a biological heir with a woman he loves.”

“It is an unkind and destabilizing prayer,” Mr. Ashenden continued. “It is the theological equivalent of the curse of the wicked fairy in one of the fairy tales.”

There was no immediate comment from the royal family. Prince Harry and Ms. Markle arrived in Nottingham, England, on Friday for their first official visit together — to raise awareness of H.I.V./AIDS and youth violence.

Young People Say Calling Them a ‘Snowflake’ Damages Their Mental Health

by TOM CICCOTTA6 Dec 201733,170

A new survey reveals that young people believe being called a “snowflake” could be damaging to their mental health.
A new survey by insurance firm Aviva found that 72 percent of 16 to 24-year-olds believethe term “snowflake” is unfairly applied to millennials. 74 percent of respondents took it a step farther, arguing that they believe the use of the label could have a negative effect on young people’s mental health.

The study was born out of interest in the term “snowflake generation” which was originally used to describe young people who thought they were unique or special. Some suggest it was popularized by a line in the 1996 novel Fight Club and its 1999 film adaptation: “you are not special, you are not a beautiful and unique snowflake.” The word’s meaning eventually evolved to mean “overly-sensitive.” It is often used to describe college students who claim that they are offended by controversial or even mundane ideas.

I hereby declare that every human being is a "snowflake". So there. Every living human being can have trauma to their mental health. Ouch! This makes me feel so powerful, that I can project such power over the entire human race.

My power is now great, but I fear that the snowflakes may realize that my words do not dictate their existence. I must do something to keep their minds off that idea...

Barack Obama appears to compare Trump presidency to the rise of Hitler and says US democracy could 'fall apart very quickly'
  • Obama was speaking at the Economic Club of Chicago on Tuesday night
  • He was speaking about the fragility of democracy and warned the audience of 1,800 not to grow 'complacent'
  • To illustrate his point, he invoked Hitler's rise to power which occurred under a democracy
  • Without mentioning Trump by name, Obama said 'things' could 'fall apart very quickly' if 'the garden of democracy is not carefully tended to'
  • The comments outraged Trump fans who labeled Obama 'un-American' and 'despicable'
  • They came a day before Trump caused decry among millions around the world by recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital

New Poll Finds 92% of Democrats Uninformed, Ignorant and Easily Played
December 8, 2017 by Jim Hoft 60 Comments

The far left #FakeNews media has been wrong all year.
The liberal mainstream media has pushed the conspiracy that the Trump campaign was colluding with Russia during the 2016 election to defeat Hillary Clinton.

This was all a lie.
In fact, it was Hillary Clinton and the DNC who colluded to defeat Bernie Sanders in the primary and then colluded with Russia. Democrats and the Obama FBI paid cash for a fake Russian dossier so they could spy on Donald Trump at Trump tower.

But Democrat voters are ignorant.
And Democrats rely on the fact that they are stupid and easily played.

A new poll released this week by CBS News found that 92% of Democrats believe Trump advisors had improper dealings with Russia.

A new poll released this week by CBS News found that 92% of Democrats believe Trump advisors had improper dealings with Russia.
No surprise there. I see social media posts daily from idjits spouting off about how "we know Flynn was in communication with the Russians even before Trump was in office!" ...like it's some kind of a gotcha moment. lol

Uh yeah, that's what transition teams do genius...they communicate with their foreign counterparts. When you ask how that translates to collusion BEFORE the election you get crickets.

Trump's stance on climate change means he doesn't fear the 'wrath of god', says California Governor Jerry Brown
  • Brown said: 'I don’t think President Trump has a fear of the Lord, the fear of the wrath of God, which leads one to more humility'
  • He continued: 'This is such a reckless disregard for the truth and for the existential consequences that can be unleashed'
  • Trump has threatened several times to withdraw from the Paris climate accord
  • Brown has said that deadly wildfires in the winter will be 'the new normal'

Liberals in Cali block previous attempt at controlled burns to clear out brush, now blame Trump for wildfires. Liberalism really is a mental disorder.

CNN East Coast Elitist: People Should Trust the Liberal Media Because of its Endless Mistakes… WTH?
December 10, 2017 by Jim Hoft 113 Comments

Trust us because we suck and lie.

David Frum, the Atlantic Senior Editor, went on CNN this morning to argue that Americans should trust the media because they are wrong so often.
Huh?

This comes after a horrid week of humiliating mistakes by the liberal media — All of which were intended to hurt Donald Trump and Republicans.
This is rich.

"Mistakes are precisely the reason that people should trust the media...it's the process of bringing truth to light," says Atlantic Senior Editor @davidfrum

11:27 AM - Dec 10, 2017

The liberal media is losing their stranglehold on information and they don’t like what is happening.

The house of cards is crumbling down.
It’s about time.
