Bonus points if anyone can answer where this rock would belong in the chart.

Not strong in geology but obviously formed in layers in a moisture accretion process.
You are correct about that. Which would make it a sedimentary rock.

It's an agate. Banded layers of quartz and other trace minerals which cause differences in color.

2 Fiats in one driveway. I thought it was a junkyard at first.

I swear, nature has a sense of humor. This morning I got up early so I could be at one of the parks before sunrise hoping I could get an owl pic. On my way less than 100 feet from my property there sits an owl on the fiber line. Too dark to get a pic but I was highly amused. I rarely see owls.

From today's hikes.

It seems that beaver has been busy.

A first for me, a Northern Shrike. Fierce predator, this little guy is.

Great Shrike pic.

If all the above are your pics, you have great photo skills Eric. I always appreciate your sharing.

Thanks. It would be rare for me to post a pic I did not take. I would probably indicate if any were not my own.

I forgot this one from this morning. I do not know what it is but I do know I do not want to touch it.

You know you've hit rock bottom when you start telling geology jokes...

Camera has been getting a work out today. If it were the film days I would have gone through about 5 rolls.

More from today

Back home it was a day where you could stand outside and see a raptor very couple of minutes.

Great pictures, eric.
Looks like you have a hunter's paradise right out yer back door.

BF
Thanks.
Yeah there are some large forest areas around here. A friend thinks he saw a cougar when he left my place last night.
