I think it might be a little late in the year. Currently visiting in Ohio. I’ve recently had cardinals reply and wrens will come for a look. A few years back I had some ravens do a flyby. I sit on my parents screened in porch. It is an acoustically active area with cement and brick. I cup my hand under the speakers to direct and amplify the sound.

Some of the calls are too quiet. I think the higher pitched sounds are driven by the phone better and the lower pitches don’t get enough umph.

There aren’t enough birds in Wyoming for it to work.

This was my wash crew today as we washed a bus for some friends. Mostly , I think they just liked getting sprayed by the pressure washer, but as you can see, they took their work serious enough to discuss how to get the job done.

Once when a group of woodchucks were grazing I wanted to scare them off. I decided to try my best imitation of a red-tailed hawk call. Instantly I heard a hawk call back and thought that was cool. Next thing you know a red-tailed hawk landed in the top of one of my pine trees.

I don't make a habit of doing that anymore. No need to interrupt them but might keep it in mind if I see a good meal for them.

Some critters have a way of invading the wrong gardens. The one below made a fine barbeque. Also, became a very good lesson for my children on where food comes from. My younger son more than my daughter, she's been around long enough to know. She helped my oldest sister clean fresh chickens on more than one occasion.

Cleaning out the attic (2+ generations of stuff up there) Found this cool item that was my FILs.
A brass crab-ashtray. I'm keeping it.

Yeah there was a whole set of brass sea creatures; but this was the coolest. Brass animals must have been a "thing" for their generation; one of the only things I have that my dad held onto forever was a big brass owl.

Last year I worked on a house getting ready to be sold and I started working before an estate sale began there and all the items were out and labeled when I got there. I grabbed this elephant for 7 bucks before it started. Its about 8" long and 6 1/2" tall. Weighs a few pounds.

Jam night... It's a bit warm, hazy and windy but quite a beautiful summer's day here in the Ozarks.

Cleared out our crawlspace today, besides the dozen musical instruments we finally cracked open my MIL's "hope chest" that she left behind.
Found this nice piece given to my wife by her grandad on her first bday.

I went to the museum and saw the press for those CC coins. It was one at a time. The pressure and mechanical advantage must have been huge. They had a "mine" underneath, but it was really just a museum show with plaster for the "mine walls". Yes, I checked with my fingernail. Lie to me, and I will scratch your "art".

Buddy of mine's father collected old hand planes. Snapped quick picks of a couple.

Nice. Some kind of fishing spider?

I encountered this one once years ago when I was looking for fossils. Turned over a rock and this guy was on the other side.

Good guess. Here's a cutie that greeted me at the front door. The rabbit is already getting much more tame, eating while I'm working in the yard and when I got out of my truck after getting home tonight he was about eight feet in front of my truck and stay there until I got out and shut the door.

Anyway here's the guy.

When I went out to the back porch to go out to the Garden there was a peeping ruckus being made by whatever bird this is. I caught the little one just as she took off to make room for the bigger guy assuming her other half. They were sitting on top of the stake holding my gladiolas from falling over. Camera phone zoomed in through a glass door.
