My dad had one of those early 60's industrial version sawzall ... heavy metal case, came in a hinged box... When he brought it home from work, I knew it was going to be fun! That and his similar real 1" drill with two pipes threaded into in addition to the D handle...

My job when he was drilling or sawing big angle or pipe was to man the cord, watch if the bit stuck and quickly unplug it. Of course inevitably once on our dune buggy project the drill stuck, I was slow and that blasted drill spun my 240# dad around in a circle... To which he simply said if you're gonna be the cord man you have to be smarter than the damn cord!

That's the racist Nazi flag right?
Maybe, that's a Marine Captain putting up the Confederate Naval flag over a Castle on Iwo Jima.
My father was just off shore, on the USS Kidd, pirates of the Atlantic & Pacific.

You know with the whole tiny house craze... you could almost convert that to one heck of a tiny house if you used all the covered space... make it 2 story with a ladder stair, put a loft bed, simple bath, open kitchen living....

May have posed this before but I like it. The base image is from US Naval Aircraft Museum on base at NAS Pensacola.

My great uncle Lt. Gen. Edward Walter Snedeker commanded the Mahreens there.

You think bubble gum will help hold the dry rotted belt together?

I gotta admit, certain perspectives can be a little intimidating.

Sometimes, work takes me to some random places. The first pic is of some mud swallow nests under a bridge I looked over out in West Kentucky.

Tried to capture a butterfly a moment ago with the cam phone. Look at the blow up of the one pic, crazy ain't it!? Looks like a bird of strange proportions.

Are you a bridge inspector? I know several. But down here in Florida, it's a target rich environment for bridges including a lot of the long span variety. Last year about 50 miles east, they shut down the major access bridge across the Intracoastal Waterway (about 4 miles over saltwater) to Destin, Fl because of corrosion problems with the post tension cables. It's open now but limited to 2 axle vehicles. You'd think the design engineers would have taken that into account, it's not like this is a new technology or problem.

Rotohoe made in Newberry Ohio... Went to elementary school there, had one always clogged by those removeable bars at the bottom
Cool, thanks for that. "Rotohoe"... never heard of it before.
...Shares the same name of an ex. :secret:

Lost a 50+ year old Sycamore tree in our old backyard after that hurricane a couple weeks back. Luckily it fell straight back into the wood instead of into any of the 3 houses it could have reached. My kid behind the root ball. I read the Sycamore can turn out pretty nice looking, gonna have to save some for future projects.
What are some of the uses? I can't recall hearing of anything made from Sycamore come to think of it.
In distantly related news the street I grew up on was Sycamore drive.
