What's a gigatron & why did u post it? Is that something to do with the post you quoted Eric in? I've only read a few recent posts havent made it to the earlier ones. Actually sounds like something I might be interested in
That round yellow doughnut...you sit on that because you have hemorrhoids...or it's a percussion device.
My 1st thought was the floor toms with pristine looking heads.
After 20 years of carting my wifes records around and having no where to put them where they could be used, nor a record player to play them on. I finally got our new living room emptied out, and some shelves and a record player for her for christmas.
This is sorta neat. A friend was driving around looking for dead trees to cut up for firewood and happened on this interesting building. It's on top of a hill, (in BC it isn't a mountain unless it has snow) I think it's something to do with the airport which is ~ 10 miles away, not sure.
Last couple winters I've been running a small log yard at the Northern tip of Williston Lake. Took this pic one morning. Bizarre, some of the things we saw up there.

Hey UT,
That pic reminds me of my years as an electrician at the Conneaut dock, equipment covered in ice, damp cold until the lake froze... always dark and dreary... No part of me misses that... moved from Folly to oceanfront Kiawah yesterday. Slightly foggy mid sixties, gentle breeze, bicyclists everywhere

Ribbon snow? Reminds me of the ribbon candy my Grandmother used to have at Christmas dinners, although less colorful and not nearly as sweet.....
I sure thought so. Would have been cool to see it in action. Makes me wonder what came together to make it happen like that. We had snow over night, then a mix of rain/snow/sleet until early afternoon when the sun made an appearance.
You pore sod. It was 82f and sunny here in South Floriduh. Butterflies everywhere. There's one kind that just seems to play-float in the air. We always called them "Painted Ladies".
I just found out they ain't. They are what is called a "Florida Winter Butterfly". And they have the rather ominous name of "Nemesis Bird".
But they're still gorgeous, and will let you approach them. They pair up, flying around each other. Dozens.
My fellow GMers never fail to entertain me. Ya lead me off on such flights of fancy I may never know where I wind up: in the cosmos or in the back yard.
What's the difference between a butterfly and a moth, I thought after y'all posted those cool pics.
Led me to search to find out, and at the Library of Congress, I found a very nice presentation on just what those little bugs are all about.
