with grams , the dough is more European. (:
No problem. I prefer whole numbers, but if you like dry ounces, that is 33.33 oz. water and 19.75 oz. flour.

In a van down by the Rio Grande river
my neck was broken in 5 places about 7 years ago

I survived , obviously

but it has been a real bitch to deal with these frigging bolts

only consolation is that it is easy to hookup some battery cables and jump start me pronto

Damn dude. Sorry to see and hear about this. But if you're able bodied and can get around you are a lucky/blessed man. My mother spent the last 17 years of her life as a quadriplegic. Broke her neck in a 5th wheel RV accident in 1998. Docs fused her spine and she was never the same. My parents had been retired for several years and were always on the go. All of that changed. They spent the rest of their lives sitting in front of the BOOB tube. Their entire perspective on life changed for the worse.

I hope you healed well and hope your life is good.

I had (used) a 2-door 1977 Ford LTD, and a 70's Maverick, and a 70's woody Dodge wagon, but they all drove like crap and always needed repairs.

In the early '90s, Ford came out with its 4.3 V8 - better on gas - and a really stable chassis/suspension for their Crown Vics & Grand Marquis & Town Cars. REALLY HARD to stay at the speed limits...

Went through a used Crown Vic & a used Grand Marquis, both good cars... but my FAVORITE by FAR was my (little old lady in Florida) 1995 Diamond Signature Edition Town Car, with the pneumatic suspension that could shoot across speed bumps at 80mph... And the gold color NEVER showed any dust or dirt, and never needed to go through the car wash. Precise handling at over 100mph, sitting on a sofa, with huge legroom in the back seats, and a trunk big enough to put 4 Jimmy Hoffas... without the back bumper sagging...

Drove from Ft. Lauderdale to northern Vt & back many times, with one 6hr stop for some sleep across the front bench, in under 2 days. 1700+ miles. Got one speeding ticket in the Carolinas - after slowing down to 90mph. They'd been tailing me from afar for miles & called ahead for a trooper to zap me coming over a hill on I95... Gave me an appointment with the judge. Called a local lawyer, wired him $350, and he sent me back $60... Fine dismissed... No "record"...

Only problem was snapping a belt in the middle of a long trip...

Spinalcracker and Himself are cut from the same cloth: We are slow to duck, and get injured a lot, but we are exceptionally hard to kill.

The photo above reminded me of one time when I had to wear one of those screw-into-your-head braces to hold my neck still while they put it back in. Fargin DIFFICULT to live with:

My mother wore one of those, 35 years ago, for many months. She broke her neck in a car accident, she was hit broad side but a red light runner. She had to use a torque wrench morning & evening to tighten the screws into her skull !!!!!! & clean the contact points with peroxide.
YES, a royal PITA, BUT, better than the alternative.

Yabbut -- I still had to drive the Double D-9 dozer twelve hours a day. And then wash it down.

...and continue moonlighting as a trapeze artist and weight lifter.

That model was only marketed for 3 years...

Downside = the replacement "super-air-shocks" cost a mint to replace... but 80mph over a speed bump without feeling anything can be worth it...
