There are many that will tell you..gold is gold and silver is silver...and they are Right!..everyone believes the name of the game is to stack the most they can, at the cheapest way possible..and that is right too! others believe Slabs, Numismatics, and others are a great way to make a return..and they too are correct!..I look at it like this..there are so many ways to stack thats what makes this fun..it dosent matter how you stack!..whats important is that you are stacking!..no matter if its gold or silver,...Numismatics, or junk coins or jewlery.....it's your stack..if you like it, and can afford it..buy it!..you only regret what you don't buy!...and if anyone ever says or trys to tell you that buying PM's is stupid or not the way to go.just remember...

Hey Gold Rush,

This 7 Card Stud round was one that I believe belonged to a deceased GIMer. Since it has a poker theme and a pistola you might be intersted in it. If you don't have card/poker themed rounds you can start now! :) Let me know-

Nice. I only started picking up Pandas last year. Was not into the premiums or counterfeit stress but I got some gold Pandas at melt and started adding a couple Ag's in with an order at release time. The newest Panda coin, as you can see in the picture above, is the first year to feature 3 Pandas. I just learned that the other day. :cheerful: And wow is it a very beautiful coin!

I gave two of the pandas to a friend of mine when his twins were born. I give 1 oz silver coins for births, baptisms and 1st Christmas of married couples that go through marriage prep with my wife and myself. For married couples I tell them that they have to stay married to at least their silver anniversary.

newmisty, I really like the hockey one. I picked a couple of them up cheap when I was first getting started in collecting silver.

I wanted a 1920 Pilgrim Comm Coin for some time, so I bought myself one as a present for still going to work. Ha ha. Please excuse my bad photography skills.

Thanks for posting Gringott! I have been thinking about collecting Comm for a while now, but haven't started yet! I think the older Comm are some of the best looking coins the U.S Mint have ever made! looking at your Pilgrim Comm..its starting to motivate me into looking for some Comm myself :cheerful::thumbs_up:

Started collecting Cartoon Character related rounds about a year ago..don't see them often, but when I do, I pick them up!
I also have a cartoon/comic related generic round collection going:bear_thumb:. I only have a few so far, but hopefully I'll stumble into a few more this year...

@NyYanks -- I sure hope you went back and bought all those Perth 1oz rabbits for just a few bucks over spot. Even the latest coins (2013 snakes) retail for $8 over so those were a steal and probably gone already if you didn't go back the next morning. As for looking up prices on stuff like that, rather than searching for online retailers with available stock I would consult eBay. Search the closed auction listings and you'll always find the true price that folks are currently willing to pay. Those were some neat art bars you posted a few pages back btw ;).

Classic commen's have been down for quite sometime compared to other series that have increased in price over the last few years. I've been looking at them myself and will probably start putting together a low grade, roughly melt priced set. Even in lower grades some of the coins command a premium (Hawaii, Oregon, Hudson, etc.), but a lot of the coins can be purchased for under $50ea.

I only got one and you guys are already pointing out two more I have been eyeballing. This is why I didn't want to start!!!!!!!

I was thinking about that Pilgrim for a couple of years. I held off because I thought "where or when will it end?"

I'm hooked. I understand the first step is admitting there is a problem.
