There are a number of factors that contribute to the life span of your power tools and we will look at several of them in this video. There are some factors that are out of our control like the quality of the materials used in manufacturing, the accuracy of assembly and alignments, handling of shipments, exposure to moister, and of course we can't forget luck. Hi. My name is Darek and in this video I'll show you review and test EVOLUTION FURY 1-B. THIS IS NOT A PAID ADVERTISEMENT Evolution sent me this saw to test it and expressed my opinion.

When I removed the saw from the box, it seemed to me much bigger than the saw that I had and i was not wrong, the saw is really big, has a large aluminum base, making it stable, and big handles make it easy to work even at an unusual position.

Thanks to the 185mm multi-purpose disc, we can cut almost anything we have in the workshop. Although I tried to cut only wood, steel and aluminum, but we can also cut copper, brass, plastic, plexiglasy , etc.

Several times I happened to cut old unnecessary boards with my old saw and they had nails, unfortunately the disc had to be given to the uncle to sharpen, but with this saw isn't that problem. As you can see, the board even with a great deal of nails and trimmings cut off easily.

Cutting steel with this tool is really easy. There is no spark, high and dangerous rotation, only quick and easy cutting.

In my opinion, the saw is a very good solution for DIYers.

FlexVolt's Little Bro - Dewalt added a new brushless 7-1/4″ circular saw to the 20 volt max lineup as part of a growing brushless tool selection. Dewalt's first brushless circular saw was the 60v Flexvolt the only runs on the new 60V batteries that can also be used on the 20V line. The new DCS570 is directly meant to allow Dewalt 20 volt users to have a more powerful and up to date choice in circular saws. This saw includes a lot of features found in the FlexVolt saw, including an included blade brake.

It is nice to see Dewalt expand 20 volt line with a new brushless circular saw as it provides a bit of insight to current 20 volt users. The FlexVolt battery made the water a bit muddy as to where Dewalt was going to place research and development dollars. The outlook has been that Dewalt was going to place the premium products in the FlexVolt line and push high end users into the new platform. The new 20 volt circular saw has a 2-9/16″ cutting capacity at 90 degrees that can cut 3 by lumber in a single pass. Electric blade brakes are included on many pro model saws and it is nice to see it on the new 20 volt. Similar to the FlexVolt, the shoe on the new 20 volt is made out of aluminum.

Let's really cut to the chase, the new 20 volt circular saw is almost identical to the FlexVolt circular saw (DCS575). About the only difference in appearance is the color of the blade guard. Both Dewalt saws have a high grade aluminum shoe, or base plate. Internally, the motor is different and the saw runs at a slightly lower RPM of 5500 vs the FlexVolt at 5800 RPM. There is a pretty fair difference in the performance and speed of cut side. While the 20 volt is no slouch, it will not rip through 3 sheets of OSB at the same speed as the FlexVolt.

If you are using these saws all day long, in bare tool form, they weigh in at about the same weight, 7.5 lbs. But add in the weight of a Flexvolt battery and the 20 volt will win as a lighter tool at the scales all day long.

So the question everyone want to know, does the FlexVolt look alike saw have the same power? Well, we are sorry to say, but the answer is "No". That is not to say that is does not have the power to keep everyone on the jobsite happy. It will rip and cross cut two by lumber without issue. The place where it lacks is when stacking multiple pieces of OSB and making cuts. Stacking three 3/4" sheets can take the saw down to a crawl or worse.

If someone is looking for one the most powerful saws on the market, they should look to the FlexVolt in Dewalt's offerings. We did run the FlexVolt battery in this saw and found an increase in runtime, but not an increase in power. We are getting spoiled with some super-powerful saws coming out and our expectations might be a bit high. This upgrade makes the older brushed Dewalt saw look really slow. If you are planted in the 20 volt max line, this is a good buy.

I have two of these saws and love them. I got the saw, a battery and a bag for 199.99 shipped to the door at a CPO tool sale. I haven't picked up one of my other battery saws since and would seriously recommend that everyone try one. Dewalt has a 90 day no questions asked return policy so try and then decide to buy or return.

Compact/Trim Routers - In our opinion, compact routers or trim routers are an essential part of the woodworking shop. We use them for a variety of tasks from light to medium duty material removal. They are typically used for edge work that can consist of flush trimming laminate, flush trimming edge banding, edge profile (round-overs, chamfers, decorate edge profiles), and solid edge banding joinery. We take it a step further in our woodworking shop. We use trim routers for nearly 90 percent of our routing needs. We find us using a traditionally sized router for larger joinery tasks and that is a rare occurrence as we tend to pick the table saw or router table for those tasks.

Compact/Trim routers really shine is the fine detailed work. Inlays and hinge mortise work are their bread and butter. Why would you want to use a large, bulky, heavy router to do a task that needs precision? You don't! A trim router provides a nice small package that can complete the tasks without the extra bulk and horsepower that isn't needed. One thing we should touch on though is weight. When doing precision work with a router, weight can sometimes provide an increased level of control. For instance, when you have a 1/8" straight bit installed into your router, it doesn't provide enough grab when compared to a 1/2" bit. A bit of a heavier router will help prevent that grab from you losing control.

This calculator is supposed to help make common calculations easier, but lacks trigonometric functions (Sine, Cosine, Tangent), and Pi is buried. Save your money and buy a TI instead

Just got one of these: I wish I would have bought one before I did my steel roof repair/install back over Labor Day. Driving hundreds of screws with my old drill driver about wrecked my right elbow. I have been staying away from treasure hunting until the damn tendons heal up.
This B&D isn't in the league of the Makita and Milwaukee impact drivers but hell, neither am I and this costs half as much. It also has really good reviews.
It's small, has good balance and great battery life. Aftermarket 20v lithium batteries are pretty cheap too.

This unit will not supply a framing crew, nor will it run an impact wrench with its 1.2 scfm output at 90 PSI. Using this air compressor as it was designed to be used, for small nailers or to complete small jobs without a cord, it performs flawlessly. The battery life is surprising and if you need more runtime, one can always upgrade to the DEWALT FlexVolt 9.0Ah battery.

We used this compressor with 18 and 16 gauge nails testing the 2.5 gallon air tank to see how many nails we could shoot without the compressor going into recovery mode. We were able to shoot fifteen 18 gauge and ten 16 gauge nails before the compressor tank dipped below the 100 psi mark triggering the pump to turn on and return the tank to 135 PSI.

While you can use this air compressor for household use, including topping of automotive tires with air and filling up other items, the performance will still be limited by the size of the tank and the 1.2 scfm output. This compressor will be happy to live and run every day on the jobsite or sit in the garage or trailer as a backup unit. Having the option to cut the cord or have a compressor in a remote area is awesome and DEWALT designed this compressor to perform as if it was corded!
