Egg and a shot, egg and a shot, egg and a shot, egg and a shot....oh yeah egg and a shot and a dip into the pool which was not heated and then back into the boiling jacuzzi...

never did do the egg in a beer, lot of mater or V8 juice but no egg in the beer. BUT now that I think if it....does poring beer in your scrambled eggs count? well if it does then by gollie there is a lot of that that goes on around here.

If the ban does go into affect, the court challenges will either slow it down or make it go away. What we really need though are more laws to stop the creation of more laws.
What we REALLY need are the DC politicians not only write the bill they want to become law they also MUST right the regulations and rules that will go into effect.
THAT would slow their lazy azzez down significantly.

It's called bump firing (catchy term huh?). The most common way is to hook the thumb of your firing hand in your belt loop. Pull the trigger and let the gun 'float' back and forth from the recoil, keeping your trigger finger rigid against the trigger. The mag dump really sprays the lead around but good luck if you want to actually hit anything!

If you wear pants with belt loops you can learn to "Bump Shoot".

You are correct sir. There is no bump stock ban.

.
AGENCY:
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives; Department of Justice.

ACTION:
Final rule.

SUMMARY:
The Department of Justice is amending the regulations of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) to clarify that bump-stock-type devices—meaning “bump fire” stocks, slide-fire devices, and devices with certain similar characteristics—are “machineguns” as defined by the National Firearms Act of 1934 and the Gun Control Act of 1968 because such devices allow a shooter of a semiautomatic firearm to initiate a continuous firing cycle with a single pull of the trigger. Specifically, these devices convert an otherwise semiautomatic firearm into a machinegun by functioning as a self-acting or self-regulating mechanism that harnesses the recoil energy of the semiautomatic firearm in a manner that allows the trigger to reset and continue firing without additional physical manipulation of the trigger by the shooter. Hence, a semiautomatic firearm to which a bump-stock-type device is attached is able to produce automatic fire with a single pull of the trigger. With limited exceptions, the Gun Control Act, as amended, makes it unlawful for any person to transfer or possess a machinegun unless it was lawfully possessed prior to the effective date of the statute. The bump-stock-type devices covered by this final rule were not in existence prior to the effective date of the statute, and therefore will be prohibited when this rule becomes effective. Consequently, under the final rule, current possessors of these devices will be required to destroy the devices or abandon them at an ATF office prior to the effective date of the rule.

DATES:
This rule is effective March 26, 2019.

The government can outlaw anything it wants. Getting the people to comply is a whole other thing. Sometimes the government needs to be told to sit down.

If the goverment outlawed breathing, would you comply?

Sort of reminds me of the Vietnam "conflict"

When our government demanded all able-bodied young American males to report to camps to begin training to fight in a "conflict" overseas that was in no way a threat to our nation or national security....

What if all those young Americans said, "Hell no!" What if all Americans said, "Hell no!"

The lawmakers in Washington would have suddenly changed their mind and decide a war in Vietnam was not in our best interests.

But because Americans went along with the program, over 58,000 young Americans never came home alive and thousands more came home mentally and/or physically injured.

Today we buy clothing and many other products from Vietnam. They are a trading partner. A communist country. Just like communist China who we trade with.

The argument that the war in Vietnam was to stop communism is bullshit. The military industrial complex manufactured a need for war and all the American people should have told the military industrail complex to go fish.

Myself, I don't see the bump stock ban as a big deal. I think Trump threw the gun control freaks a bone to shut them up. Perhaps because he knew it would be challenged in court and struck down. Who knows.

If they ever outlaw the right to own firearms, the American people need to get a backbone and just say "Hell NO!"

Just my two cents.
:-)

these devices convert an otherwise semiautomatic firearm into a machinegun by functioning as a self-acting or self-regulating mechanism that harnesses the recoil energy of the semiautomatic firearm in a manner that allows the trigger to reset and continue firing without additional physical manipulation of the trigger by the shooter.
Problem is it does in fact require physical manipulation by the shooter to fire subsequent rounds. This can be proven by the shooter simply moving his finger away from the trigger. When that happens, firing stops. Hence, the physical action of the shooters finger against the trigger is required for the device to work.
Ie: Just because the gun is what is moving doesn't change the fact that the finger is still what supplies the force that moves the trigger to fire another round.

Hence, a semiautomatic firearm to which a bump-stock-type device is attached is able to produce automatic fire with a single pull of the trigger.
Again, it is not a single "pull" of the trigger that produces automatic fire. Each round requires the trigger to actuate one full cycle. Depress "bang" and release, depress "bang" and release, etc etc.
....and a machine gun is, depress the trigger "bang bang bang bang bang etc etc etc" until empty, and release.

1 trigger pull-1 round up the pipe=semi automatic
Put lipstick on it and it's STILL semi automatic. Put a fancy bump stock on it and it becomes a semi automatic, ammunition disposal device

It's still one round per actuation of the trigger and it requires the finger for it to shoot. Which is why I think it'll end up being struck down.

100% agree!
Some people think a bump stock is useless (it is) and seeing it banned isn't a big deal. I see it differently. I'm not giving up a single centimeter more ground on my gun rights. I'm feeling mighty infringed these days and something needs to change!

-Thought I'd stick this here. It's one of my personal favorites!

IMO, the bump stock is just a novel, ammo wasting accessory.

What disciplined, motivated shooter would rely on a bump-stock in a real-world, life and death, accuracy counts scenario?

Optics.

(Don't tell the gun-grabbers, but this whole controversy is nothing more than an engineered distraction to make POTUS DJT appear to be anti BoR Article 2.)

Anyone who REALLY wants FA has already figured out how to do it without relying on an off the shelf product.

Personally, I'd go with a binary trigger. More expensive at first but far more control in maintaining target acquisition and less ammo waste.

Because she undoubtedly has very bad intentions. POTUS Trump does not appear to.

You think I'm making this up? Listen to your god say it himself.

So you're ignoring their debates? You really think they're pals? That's the most ridiculous conspiracy theory to date. Don't get stuck on the past and wake up to the present. There is a war between the DS/HRC and Trump Team. If you don't believe that there'es nothing more to say.

Trump is the master of misdirection. Don't be too presumptuous and take a breath. He's no dummy. He knows in order to get the SC to rule on it, he would have to sign the bill into law. He also knows it will get struck down as unconstitutional.

If you think Trump and the Hag are buddies you simply haven't been paying attention. You're falling for Trump misdirection again. The way to follow Trump is to take a wait and see attitude on everything he says and does.

If you want to make the case that Clinton is a more terrible person than Trump, you might be correct. But, that isn't the point. The point is that Trump has signed an unconstitutional regulation of firearms. That's a fact. Trump's supporters should be calling him out on it, not making excuses for him.

You think I'm making this up? Listen to your idol say it himself.

This is not a big deal either. Donald Trump was a democrat much longer in his life than he has been a Republican and as a businessman financially supported both sides.
psst -Ronald Reagan was a democrat in his early years and most of his Hollywood career. It cost him his first marriage to Jane Wyman who was a life long republican.
The democratic corporation has always went for the low hanging fruit for voters to support their constantly changing agenda. Hell, I'd say JFK had more in common with the current GOP positions than the controlling socialists of the democratic corp. today.
TIMES CHANGE EVERYTHING.

"The democrats get in control and screw everything up. The GOP gets back in and just maintains the status quo until the democrats get back in control." - Grandpa

I don't believe he was in any way the kind of democrat today's democrats are. The party has changed drastically.

You can see videos on YouTube of a young Trump decades ago saying he would run if things got bad enough but that he would prefer not to run.

The policies he advocated back then do not sound like a Democrat. Not today's democrats anyway.

And the fact that he used to be a Democrat doesn't mean much. My whole family used to be democrats years ago. We are no longer democrats. Does that make me untrustworthy? No, just a slow learner. Took me awhile to wake up. LOL!

Bump stocks aside, I am more concerned about RED FLAG LAWS (now 14 states and counting) and UNIVERSAL BACKGROUND CHECKS. Our new short governor says she will sign both bills if they make it to her desk--as well as full term abortion.
