Rejecting a president not of their choosing

By Mike Krauss
Thursday
Posted at 6:00 AM

With the election of Donald Trump the American body politic got a heart transplant. But is wasn’t the heart the establishment had selected and they are in a panic to reject it.

On the way to the White House, Trump vanquished the GOP establishment, the Democratic establishment, the vaunted Clinton machine and its adjunct, the Obama White House. Trump overcame the media and entertainment establishments, the foreign policy establishment, the intelligence establishment, labor establishment and the PC academic establishment.

The Democratic establishment is in a panic. Donna Brazile took aim at Hillary, tired I suppose of Clinton’s never ending spinning of her campaign disaster and hoping for a seat at the table when the Democrats’ uncivil war comes to an end. Clinton protégées are turning on their former patrons.

Rats deserting a sinking ship.

The foreign policy establishment is in a panic. Trump went to Asia, shoring up allies, working through the truly dangerous Korean mess he inherited and announcing new U.S. trade policies — a direct challenge to the parasitical, global neo-liberal economic establishment. He challenged the Chinese military colonization of the South China Sea. Trump’s messaging was forceful and unambiguous.

Foreign leaders adjusted to the new reality. When the American president takes the field, the game changes. Not so the American establishment.

Former Intelligence chiefs, who for good reason have historically kept out of politics when their turn was over, went public to undercut the president while he was abroad, telling Americans and the world that the “naive” president was being “rolled” and “played” by our foreign friends and foes.

Magically gone was the Donald Trump who as a candidate was portrayed as a ruthless negotiator who would sell out his mother to get what he wanted. Quite a change.

The interlocked media and entertainment establishment is in a panic, desperate to protect their ownership of the public space from the invading Trump, wielding his Twitter sword like a Star Wars “lightsaber.”

The “discovery” of pervasive sexual exploitation of the powerless by the powerful in the entertainment and media establishment has migrated to the political establishment, and a Congress which has operated a secret fund to “settle,” at taxpayers’ expense, allegations of members’ sexual impropriety. A serious discussion of a serious problem is being sidetracked by rank establishment hypocrisy and posturing.

It’s a political autopsy. More evidence of the diseased establishment heart the voters replaced is being discovered.

Democrat die-hards and never Trumpers are hoping to catch up Trump in this. But they already tried and failed in the 2016 campaign. Besides, at the rate we are going, there will soon be no one left to cast the first stone. Not that they won’t try.

There are other telling, if less apparent signs of establishment decadence.

Sports stars are among the most privileged in American society and by definition establishment figures. Three already privileged college basketball players from UCLA went on a shop-lifting spree in China and got caught.

Of the 1.4 billion Chinese, 91 percent are ethnic Han and the rest are indistinguishable from that physical norm. As a rule, they are not tall. They are certainly not black. It never occurred to these student athletes that in China, every eye would be on them, on and off the basketball court.

Educated in the perks of America’s privileged elites, they thought they could get away with it and saw no reason not to try. Young Clintons in the making.

The nation’s progress can only be slow but steady. There is a lot of wreckage to clear away, like the establishment Praetorian Guard at the Justice Department and FBI.

The FBI still has Clinton/Obama loyalists in key posts, like the deputy whose wife took $750k in campaign contributions from the Clinton machine and decided to classify the Clinton email investigation as a “special” case, to be managed by select political appointees.

And Justice Deputy Rob Rosenstein will go, sooner or later. Another establishment lifer and knee deep in the Russian uranium scandal, he made the call to appoint an establishment special prosecutor to find some way to get at Trump.

Establishment saboteurs in both parties in the Congress and the media keep alive the fiction of Trump/Russian collusion because it’s all they have left. But time is on Trump’s side. It is running out for the team that lost control of the Justice Department and the support of the American people.

The American establishment is in a panic, desperate to reject a president not of their choosing.

MAGAmarket Breaks 24K – Economy Momentum Gaining…
Posted on November 30, 2017 by sundance

Back in 2015 we described the basic principles behind MAGAnomics.

CTH continually reminds people that for most Americans under age 45 they have NEVER seen, or participated in, a fully functional U.S. economy.

There’s a reason for those reminders.

The Main Street economy is like a train that has sat idle for three decades. MAGAnomics is that train’s engine. President Trump’s ‘America-First’ economic policy agenda is the starter fluid and the super-fuel.

After the initial blast of quick-start is applied, the engine ignites, coughs, backfires loudly, clears out the cylinders… then slowly -awakening- it begins to auto-sync… It winds up as the internal energy builds… Then comes that first, familiar and glorious roar:

Remember, this economic engine has not yet been put into gear. She has gained more than 3% GDP growth while tuning herself. Once this glorious American industrial machine gets moving, there ain’t much that can ever stop it…

The prior usurping economic control agents starved her of fuel to shut her down.

Donald J. Trump

✔@realDonaldTrump

Our FIFTH 1K milestone of 2017!#DOW24K #MAGA

4:50 PM - Nov 30, 2017

For years candidate Donald Trump walked around that engines’ magnificent chassis and whispered to her about returning to pride and glory. Noting every detail, curve and line of her carriage he knew what she was possible of.

Candidate Donald J Trump saw our titan of industry not as a relic, but as a cherished promise waiting, wanting and deserving of new stewardship.

Wilbur Ross knows how she rolls. Robert Lighthizer understands the history of the fuel she needs. Gary Cohn and Steven Mnuchin grew up hearing stories of her magnificence.

Main Street U.S.A. is not just an engine, she’s the most glorious economic construct in the history of the world. She was built by Titans of industry, and she is prized, feared and envied by all others. She is known throughout the world for what she can accomplish…

Yeah, like I said… throw them ju-ju bones out the windows and hang on to the kids tightly… because when she roars, just the sound of the linkage as it engages will blow that MAGA cap right off your head.

Oh, and once she gets moving….

House Cracks Down on Illegal Immigrants, Passes ‘Kates Law’

Cristina Laila Jun 29th, 2017 5:55 pm 30 Comments

House Republicans cracked down on illegal immigrants Thursday and the cities that protect them.

It’s bad enough that illegal aliens are sneaking across our borders and living off of the system, but ‘sanctuary cities’ have taken things to the next level by protecting illegal criminals who have murdered Americans. The politicians who have participated in sanctuary cities up until now should be punished harshly.

TGP previously reported that President Donald Trump met at the White House on Wednesday with family members of victims of illegal alien criminals. Trump highlighted two bills to be voted on in the House on Thursday, Kate’s Law and the No Sanctuary for Criminals Act. The family members spoke out about their loved ones. Seated on either side of Trump were Jameil Shaw and Melissa Oliver Storz.

Via Fox News:

House Republicans took action Thursday to crack down on illegal immigrants and the cities that shelter them.

One bill passed by the House would deny federal grants to sanctuary cities and another, Kate’s Law, would increase the penalties for deported aliens who try to return to the United States.

Kate’s Law, which would increase the penalties for deported aliens who try to return to the United States and caught, passed with a vote of 257 to 157, with one Republican voting no and 24 Democrats voting yes.

Kate’s Law is named for Kate Steinle, a San Francisco woman killed by an illegal immigrant who was in the U.S. despite multiple deportations. The two-year anniversary of her death is on Saturday.

President Trump tweeted about the good news:

Statement on House Passage of Kate’s Law and No Sanctuary for Criminals Act. http://45.wh.gov/PdWCQa

6:53 PM - 29 Jun 2017

Statement by POTUS via WhiteHouse.gov:

During my campaign, I met many grieving families who all had the same plea: lawmakers must put the safety of American families first. Today, I applaud the House for passing two crucial measures to save and protect American lives. These were bills I campaigned on and that are vital to our public safety and national security. The first bill, Kate’s Law, increases criminal penalties for illegal immigrants who repeatedly re-enter the country illegally. The bill is named for Kate Steinle, who was killed by an illegal immigrant who had been deported five times. Every year, countless Americans are victimized, assaulted, and killed by illegal immigrants who have been deported multiple times. It is time for these tragedies to end.

The second bill, the No Sanctuary for Criminals Act, restricts taxpayer grant money to cities that prevent their police from turning over dangerous criminal aliens to federal authorities. Sanctuary cities are releasing violent criminals, including members of the bloodthirsty MS-13 gang, back onto our streets every single day. Innocent Americans are suffering unthinkable violence as a result of these cities’ reckless actions. The House bill also includes what is known as Grant’s Law and Sarah’s Law. These provisions, which prevent the release of dangerous criminals awaiting removal proceedings, are named for two slain Americans whose parents I spent time with during the campaign.

The implementation of these policies will make our communities safer. Opposing these bills, and allowing dangerous criminals back into our communities, our schools, and the neighborhoods where our children play, puts all of us at risk.

Now that the House has acted, I urged the Senate to take up these bills, pass them, and send them to my desk. I am calling on all lawmakers to vote for these bills and to save American lives.

This long, and I stole it but it’s a good read….

Marshall Kamena is a registered democrat and was elected mayor of Livermore, CA.. He ran on the democratic ticket as he knew a Bay Area city would never vote for a republican. He is as conservative as they come. He wrote the following.

Trump’s lack of decorum, dignity, and statesmanship

My Leftist friends (as well as many ardent #NeverTrumpers) constantly ask me if I’m not bothered by Donald Trump’s lack of decorum. They ask if I don’t think his tweets are “beneath the dignity of the office.”

Here’s my answer:

We Right-thinking people have tried dignity. There could not have been a man of more quiet dignity than George W. Bush as he suffered the outrageous lies and politically motivated hatreds that undermined his presidency.

We tried statesmanship. Could there be another human being on this earth who so desperately prized “collegiality” as John McCain?

We tried propriety – has there been a nicer human being ever than Mitt Romney?

And the results were always the same. This is because, while we were playing by the rules of dignity, collegiality and propriety, the Left has been, for the past 60 years, engaged in a knife fight where the only rules are those of Saul Alinsky and the Chicago mob.

I don’t find anything “dignified,” “collegial” or “proper” about Barack Obama’s lying about what went down on the streets of Ferguson in order to ramp up racial hatreds because racial hatreds serve the Democratic Party. I don’t see anything “dignified” in lying about the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi and imprisoning an innocent filmmaker to cover your tracks. I don’t see anything “statesman-like” in weaponizing the IRS to be used to destroy your political opponents and any dissent. Yes, Obama was “articulate” and “polished” but in no way was he in the least bit “dignified,” “collegial” or “proper.”

The Left has been engaged in a war against America since the rise of the Children of the ‘60s. To them, it has been an all-out war where nothing is held sacred and nothing is seen as beyond the pale..
It has been a war they’ve fought with violence, the threat of violence, demagoguery and lies from day one – the violent take-over of the universities – till today. The problem is that, through these years, the Left has been the only side fighting this war. While the Left has been taking a knife to anyone who stands in their way, the Right has continued to act with dignity, collegiality and propriety. With Donald Trump, this all has come to an end.

Donald Trump is America ’s first wartime president in the Culture War.

During wartime, things like “dignity” and “collegiality” simply aren’t the most essential qualities one looks for in their warriors. Ulysses Grant was a drunk whose behavior in peacetime might well have seen him drummed out of the Army for conduct unbecoming.
Had Abraham Lincoln applied the peacetime rules of propriety and booted Grant, the Democrats might well still be holding their slaves today. Lincoln rightly recognized that, “I cannot spare this man. He fights.”

General George Patton was vulgar-talking. In peacetime, this might have seen him stripped of rank. But, had Franklin Roosevelt applied the normal rules of decorum then, Hitler and the Socialists would barely be five decades into their thousand-year Reich.

Trump is fighting. And what’s particularly delicious is that, like Patton standing over the battlefield as his tanks obliterated Rommel’s, he’s shouting, “You magnificent bastards, I read your book!”

That is just the icing on the cake, but it’s wonderful to see that not only is Trump fighting, he’s defeating the Left using their own tactics. That book is Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals – a book so essential to the Liberals’ war against America that it is and was the playbook for the entire Obama administration and the subject of Hillary Clinton’s senior thesis. It is a book of such pure evil, that, just as the rest of us would dedicate our book to those we most love or those to whom we are most indebted, Alinsky dedicated his book to Lucifer.

Trump’s tweets may seem rash and unconsidered but, in reality, he is doing exactly what Alinsky suggested his followers do. First, instead of going after “the fake media” — and they are so fake that they have literally gotten every single significant story of the past 60 years not just wrong, but diametrically opposed to the truth, from the Tet Offensive to Benghazi, to what really happened on the streets of Ferguson, Missouri — Trump isolated CNN.. He made it personal.

Then, just as Alinsky suggests, he employs ridicule which Alinsky described as “the most powerful weapon of all.”… Most importantly, Trump’s tweets have put CNN in an untenable and unwinnable position. … They need to respond. This leaves them with only two choices. They can either “go high” (as Hillary would disingenuously declare of herself and the fake news would disingenuously report as the truth) and begin to honestly and accurately report the news or they can double-down on their usual tactics and hope to defeat Trump with twice their usual hysteria and demagoguery. The problem for CNN (et al.) with the former is that, if they were to start honestly reporting the news, that would be the end of the Democratic Party they serve.

It is nothing but the incessant use of fake news (read: propaganda) that keeps the Left alive. Imagine, for example, if CNN had honestly and accurately reported then-candidate Barack Obama’s close ties to foreign terrorists (Rashid Khalidi), domestic terrorists (William Ayers), the mafia (Tony Rezko) or the true evils of his spiritual mentor, Jeremiah Wright’s church. Imagine if they had honestly and accurately conveyed the evils of the Obama administration’s weaponizing of the IRS to be used against their political opponents or his running of guns to the Mexican cartels or the truth about the murder of Ambassador Christopher Stevens and the Obama administration’s cover-up.

So, to my friends on the Left — and the #NeverTrumpers as well — do I wish we lived in a time when our president could be “collegial” and “dignified” and “proper”? Of course I do. These aren’t those times. This is war. And it’s a war that the Left has been fighting without opposition for the past 50 years.

So, say anything you want about this president – I get it – he can be vulgar, he can be crude, he can be undignified at times. I don’t care.

I can’t spare this man. He fights for America!

Well well well, reversing unlawful federal land grabs and returning it to the people of Utah. Fecking incredible, folks this is yuuuuge!
And he gained a powerful ally in Orrin Hatch and the people of Utah in the process.
Orrin is no longer uniparty he is MAGA. And there was zero sign of mcmuffin or mittens romney showing their uniparty faces.
Listen all to those empty little leftist heads exploding across the land of the free. Brilliant!

Senator Orrin Hatch Introduces President Donald Trump…
Posted on December 4, 2017 by sundance

Not too long ago, 2010 through 2015 to be precise, CTH and Senator Orrin Hatch were on oppositional sides of almost every ‘conservative‘ argument. The issues -amid the most widely discussed conflicts- stemmed around the future of the Republican party; and were born of frustration with the elitist nature of the Corinthian clan, the DeceptiCons.

As a matter of advocacy and political network, Senator Orrin Hatch was aligned with the DeceptiCon caucus, the entrenched GOPe.

The ‘battered conservative’ scars remain visible and serve our CTH community as a continual reminder that the larger ideological battle within our republic is multidimensional. We oppose a UniParty, an ideology that permeates within and connects together both Democrats and Republicans.

However, that said, it would appear that Senator Hatch is perhaps the first example of how President Trump has personally leveraged common sense MAGA policy, which is entirely conservative, to coax members of the Corinthian clan toward a new and empowered future. Breaking one representative at a time away from the comforts of the UniParty.

The native American commissioner gave a touching speech about how much President Trump’s proclamation means to them:

President Donald Trump Shrinks Federal Monuments In Utah:
‘You Know Best How to Take Care of Your Land’

The Associated Press

by CHARLIE SPIERING4 Dec 2017352

President Donald Trump used his authority under the Antiquities Act to shrink the size of two massive national monuments designated by former presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton. Trump returned the land back to the people of Utah.
“The families and communities of Utah know and love this land the best, and you know the best how to take care of your land,” Trump said during a visit to Utah. “You know how to protect it, and you know best how to conserve this land for many, many generations to come.”

Trump took the unusual step of shrinking the amount of land protected by the Antiquities Act, despite an outcry from leftist environmental groups.

“I’ve come to Utah to take a very historic action to reverse federal overreach and restore the rights of this land to your citizens,” Trump said during the event, which included Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke, Utah Senators Orrin Hatch and Mike Lee, as well as Governor Gary Herbert.

Obama designated 1.35 million acres of land to serve as the Bears Ears National Monument right before he left office in 2016. Clinton designated 1.9 million acres in Utah as the Grand Staircase-Escalante monument. Both monuments were reduced after Secretary Zinke conducted a study of both monuments.

The president reminded the audience that the Antiquites Act recquired a president to protect the “smallest necessary area” for conservation. He commented that previous administrations “severely abused” their powers under the Antiquities Act to lock up millions of acres of land and water under federal control.

“With the action I’m taking today, we will not only give back your voice over the use of this land, we will also restore your access and your enjoyment,” Trump said. “Public lands will once again be for public use.”

Travel Ban Back in Place, SCOTUS Halts Lower Court Injunctions

Bob Price/Breitbart Texas

by IAN MASON4 Dec 2017Washington, DC4,001

President Donald Trump’s travel ban executive order is once again to largely go back into effect after the Supreme Court of the United States stayed two lower courts’ injunctions Monday.
The orders come in response to filings by the Department of Justice Friday, asking the Supreme Court to stay the preliminary injunctions in the two main travel ban cases, Hawaii v. Trump in the Ninth Circuit and International Refugee Assistance Project v. Trump in the Fourth Circuit. These cases have been proceeding up and down the federal court system for months.

The district courts, especially that of Barack Obama-appointed District of Hawaii Judge Derrick Watson, have repeatedly ruled that the bans must be blocked from going into effect or must, in the interim, be interpreted in such a way as to have little effect on the list of mostly Muslim majority countries from which travel is prohibited under the orders.

The petitions in the two cases were made to Justice Anthony Kennedy and Chief Justice John Roberts respectively. Only Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Sonia Sotomayor declined to sign on to the orders staying the Fourth and Ninth Circuits.

“This a substantial victory for the safety and security of the American people,” Attorney General Jeff Sessions said in statement after the orders were announced.

He continued:

We are pleased to have defended this order and heartened that a clear majority Supreme Court has allowed the President’s lawful proclamation protecting our country’s national security to go into full effect. The Constitution gives the President the responsibility and power to protect this country from all threats foreign and domestic, and this order remains vital to accomplishing those goals.

With the order, the third – permanent – version of the travel ban, promulgated in September after an interagency review of the dangers posed by the different countries included, will go back into effect while the case on the merits works its way through the court system. The Supreme Court had dismissed the earlier lawsuits based on the earlier, temporary versions of the ban because they had expired.

The government, represented by Solicitor General Noel Francisco, asked the justices to re-instate the ban based in part on the findings of the review, which provided new security-based justifications for the inclusion of Chad, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Syria, Venezuela, and Yemen and, he argues, turns the likelihood of success against the plaintiffs.

The New FBI Agency Everyone Forgot – Did Adam Schiff Just Get Caught in an Elaborate Counterintelligence Sting?…
Posted on December 9, 2017 by sundance

By now everyone is likely aware of the Fake News story run by CNN on Friday surrounding an email received by Donald Trump Jr. The email was part of the investigative evidence shared with the House Intelligence committee; and later leaked from within that committee to CNN – thereby initiating the false reporting on the content.

The central issue in the CNN story was the date of an email.

It was leaked from within the committee, and later reported by CNN, that the date was “September 4th, 2016”; a date convenient for a collusion narrative between Trump Jr and WikiLeaks.

However, the real date, on the actual email, was “September 14th, 2016”; a day after Wikileaks published the content of their DNC leaks and a date that makes the entire CNN report a ‘nothingburger’.

However, CNN reports that two independent sources originally leaked to them the contents of what they had seen on the email in question. But CNN never saw the email, until later in the day.

Think about this carefully.

♦Two “independent sources” both looked at an email, and both came away from reading that email with the wrong date? How is that possible?

It has been CTH contention for several weeks that a counterintelligence sting operation has been going on within the IC community. False trails of information, seeded by ‘White Hat’ investigators, intended to be captured by ‘Black Hat’ leakers – and delivered to their usurping allies in media. The stories are fake, the leaks are real.

All investigative documents, relating to the witness, are provided to the congressional committees prior to the interviews with the witnesses; or, if the information is classified, each committee member has an opportunity to review the documents via a controlled SCIF environment when no physical copies are allowed as part of the evidence.

The Don JR./Wikileaks email could very easily be part of a ‘sting’. The date was intentionally seeded as incorrect. The resulting story is fake. The leak, however, is real.

Each nugget of disinformation exposes a specific leaker. Each trail used in the sharing of that disinformation exposes the enabling media. The White Hat plants the fake news seed, and then watches to see where, when, how, to-whom, and from-whom, it shows up.

CNN Communications

✔@CNNPR

CNN's initial reporting of the date on an email sent to members of the Trump campaign about Wikileaks documents, which was confirmed by two sources to CNN, was incorrect. We have updated our story to include the correct date, and present the proper context for the timing of email

3:46 PM - Dec 8, 2017

Brian Stelter

✔@brianstelter

Video: Here's how @MKRaju corrected his reporting on @CNNNewsroom

4:00 PM - Dec 8, 2017

Brian Stelter

✔@brianstelter

I'm seeing lots of tweets saying CNN should out the sources that misinformed @MKRaju. But @CNNPR says the network does not believe that the sources *intended* to deceive... http://mailchi.mp/cnn/reliable-dec-8-2017 …

10:48 PM - Dec 8, 2017

In this example, we believe it is most likely House Intelligence Committee Minority Chairman Adam Schiff was the recipient of the disinformation, and has now exposed himself as a leaker to an elite, previously undisclosed, investigative unit specifically assembling evidence of corruption and leaking at the highest levels of government.

The scale and strength of the CNN push-back, and specifically the tone in their refusal to even consider discussing source of the false information, further supports our supposition.

Keep in mind, Representative Adam Schiff is -as an outcome of his minority ranking on the House Intel Committee- a member of the elite congressional oversight “Gang of Eight”.

This is a VERY BIG deal. The Gang of Eight holds oversight on every covert intelligence operation going on around the world. The Go8 oversee the NSA, CIA, FBI, DNI, and every single intelligence unit and operation. The Go8 are the only group with oversight on the CIA action from Presidential Finding Memos authorizing covert operations.

The back-story to CTH theory on this endeavor includes an almost complete, years-long, Dept of Justice Office Inspector General investigation that no-one was paying attention to until recently. And don’t forget the ongoing FBI investigation into the Awan Brothers, and the quantifying the potential intelligence compromise, plays into this.

That said, it would not be the IG carrying out the counterintelligence operation to identify leakers. In actuality, no official IC agency would be empowered to place fake news in front of congress. Setting traps for congress is generally bad form, and for matters of trust – bad politics. That reality, amid those who follow DC politics, is the central point to dismiss such the “Black Hat Hunting” theory.

However, few people were paying attention four months ago when Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Director of National Intelligence Dan Coates told us they were going to do exactly that:

04:30 …”The FBI has created a new counterintelligence unit to manage these [leak] cases”…
08:17 …”these National Security breaches do not just originate from within the Intelligence Community. They come from a wide range of sources within the government, including the Congress.”…

.

Two days later, Sunday August 6th, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein reiterated he was going to follow through on the investigative demand of AG Sessions and DNI Coates and again referenced a “new counterintelligence division within the FBI”.

00:50 …“we’re responding appropriately. We’re going to devote more resources, re-evaluate our procedures and make sure we investigate every one of those leaks in an appropriate way.”…
1:07 “We have seen a surge in referrals (of leaks). We’ve seen an increase in the number of leaks. And we’re going to respond appropriately and try to establish an effective deterrent. Criminal prosecution isn’t the only way to prevent leaks but it’s an important part of the solution.”…
1:43 “That significant increase has necessitated an increase in resources. And so we have re-prioritized our cases within the National Security Division, we’re providing appropriate supervision at a high level, we’ve created a new unit within the FBI to focus on those leaks, and we’re going to devote whatever resources are necessary to get them under control.”…

.

If you consider the years-long IG investigation is coming to a conclusion. And there have been several high-profile ‘mistakes’ (from the media perspective) based on leaks recently.

The leaks were real, the underlying information was false:

Sadly, Trump Is Winning (HuffPo Schadenfreude!)

This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write and admit: Trump is winning. In the brief space of a week, he won a brief court fight to shove Mick Mulvaney to head the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Mulvaney wasted no time in unhinging a spate of consumer protection rulings, regulations, and personnel hires made during the Obama years.

His SCOTUS pick, Neil Gorsuch, eagerly cast a vote to impose the Muslim travel ban. His EPA head, Scott Pruitt, delivered a couple million acres of public monument land in the West to oil, gas, and coal industry developers. Trump busily continues to pack the federal judiciary with a parade of ultra-conservative, strict, constructionist Clarence Thomas and Antonin Scalia clones.

He switched gears and backed alleged pedophile Alabama judge Roy Moore in the Alabama Senate race, who almost certainly will win. The Republican National Committee, which had practically declared Moore a pariah, quickly jumped in and said it would back him. He got another sweet perk when Senate Democrats turned with a vengeance on Minnesota Senator Al Franken and virtually ordered him out of office. His subsequent resignation got rid of a pesky thorn for Trump. Franken had a big voice, lots of name recognition and popularity, and was not afraid to take shots at Trump.

He pooh-poohed the guilty plea of his former National Security Advisor Mike T. Flynn as no big deal while shouting “no collusion, no collusion” and got away with it.

He got his tax heist for the rich and corporations through the Senate, and as an extra bonus, brought his long-held dream of dumping the Affordable Care Act closer to reality when the Senate tacked on a provision to the bill wiping out the mandate requirement. When the markets took another tick up he crowed even louder that he was the man who brought the good times rolling to America. As always, he did all this with the sheepish connivance of much of the mainstream media, which is always off to the races in giving round-the-clock coverage to his self-serving, vapid tweets as if they were the word from the Mount.

Trump’s biggest win, though, has come on three fronts. One is the GOP. It can rail and curse at him publicly and privately, but it needs Trump. He is more than the titular head of the GOP. He is the point man for GOP policy and issues and, in a perverse way, the spur to get action on them.

The second front he’s winning on is the continuing love fest that his devout base has with him. While polls show that his overall approval ratings consistently wallow under forty percent, buried in the polling fine print is the numbers that mean the most to him and the GOP. That’s Republican voters. The overwhelming majority of whom back him. Even though his approval rating has dropped among white males without a college degree and Christian evangelicals, polls show that he still gets majority approval from them. These are the voters that the GOP will need Trump to rev up in the key swing districts in 2018. They’ll look to him to do just that. This is the voter loyalty that buys a lot of support from the GOP establishment even as they flail him or shake their head in disgust at his antics.

The third winning front for Trump is his perennial ace in the hole: the media. He remains a ratings cash cow for the networks and makes stunning copy for the print media. He knew that from day one of his presidential bid and he knows it even more now. He will continue to suck the media air out of everything that the Democrats do and try to do. Take his phony war with the NFL owners over the national anthem protest by a handful of Black players. A couple of tweets from him knocking the owners for alleging caving into the players was more than enough to distract from his bumbling, inept, and dangerous handling of the North Korea nuclear threat, and his clueless saber rattle of Iran over the nuclear curtailment pact with the U.S.

This has been his patent ploy, distract and deflect. The public and networks take the bait every time. Other than in the New York Times and other liberal print publications, there is no real sobering, in-depth discussion of the dangerous and destructive consequences of his administration’s policies. But those publications are anathema to Trump devotees in the heartland and the south anyway. So the withering criticism of Trump in these publications is tantamount to a wolf howling in the wind.

During the campaign, Trump loved to shout to his adoring throngs that, with him in the Oval Office, they’d win so much they’d get tired of winning. The giveaways to the rich, the gutting of Obamacare and the coming whittling away of Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security is hardly winning for many of his backers. They benefit from these programs and won’t get a dime’s more relief in their tax bill. But for Trump so far this has been a win-win, and a sad one to admit.

Earl Ofari Hutchinson is an author and political analyst. His latest book is, The Trump Challenge to Black America (Middle Passage Press) will be released in August. He is a weekly co-host of the Al Sharpton Show on Radio One. He is the host of the weekly Hutchinson Report on KPFK 90.7 FM Los Angeles and the Pacifica Network.

Another reporter misrepresented crowd size at the most recent Trump rally in Pensacola. He Tweeted a picture of a half filled area disputing Trump's claimed of a packed venue, but the picture was taken hours before it began.

A Washington Post reporter on Saturday apologized for his “bad tweet” after President Trump called him out by name for posting a misleading photo about the crowd size during Friday’s rally.

“It was a bad tweet on my personal account, not a story for Washington Post,” the reporter, Dave Weigel, tweeted Saturday. “I deleted it after like 20 minutes. Very fair to call me out.”

European Leaders Claim U.S. Corporate Tax Reform Presents Unfair Global Trade Advantage…
Posted on December 12, 2017 by sundance

If there is anyone who didn’t quite understand the quote: “there are trillions of dollars at stake”, in the context of the 2016 election, well, a letter today from the biggest EU economic nations will provide greater context.

Additionally, as you absorb the position behind their claims, never forget how much foreign governments spend in lobbying the U.S. congress for legislation adverse to the interests of U.S. workers.

Britain, France, Germany, Italy and Spain are claiming the U.S. congress has no right to reform the U.S. tax code because the reforms undercut their ability to hold an advantage over the U.S. in multinational trade deals.

This quote is particularly enlightening:

[…] The letter argues that proposed changes to the U.S. tax code could give American companies an advantage over foreign rivals.

The Globalist Position: ‘All your tax code are belong to us.’ Yes Alice, the election of President Trump, and the specific economic and trade policies within his platform, are an existential threat to decades long multinational schemes.

CNN MONEY – Germany, France, Britain, Spain and Italy have written to Treasury Sec. Steven Mnuchin, arguing that tax bills passed by the House and Senate run afoul of treaties and could distort international trade.

“It is important that the U.S. government’s rights over domestic tax policy be exercised in a way that adheres with international obligations to which it has signed-up,” the letter states. It was signed by the countries’ finance ministers.

The letter argues that proposed changes to the U.S. tax code could give American companies an advantage over foreign rivals.

The ministers objected specifically to a new 20% tax on payments from U.S.-based multinationals to their foreign affiliates, saying the measure in the House bill could “discriminate in a manner that would be at odds with international rules.”

They said the provision could also tax the profits of foreign businesses that do not have a permanent base in the U.S.

A second measure also drew objections. It would subject cross-border transfers within banks and finance companies to a 10% tax.

“These two … present [World Trade Organization] problems, said Rebecca Kysar, a professor at Fordham University. She said the measures could be considered to be discriminatory.

The finance ministers said they opposed another measure in the Senate bill that could benefit American companies by subsidizing their exports. (read more)

For several years CTH has pointed out how multinational corporations and multinational financial structures have usurped American Trade sovereignty. –Explained in Detail– Now, for the first time in decades, we have an American President looking out for the unique and specific interests of American manufacturers and American workers.

In September USTR Robert Lighthizer threw down the Trump gauntlet at the feet of the WTO and put them on notice that American economic and trade policy would be advanced with only the U.S. interests at the forefront.

With absolutely no change in intention, earlier today in Argentina, U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer again specifically called-out the World Trade Organization (WTO) for their role in facilitating the global schemes of an elite economic power group behind most of the world’s economic finances.

The responses from the nations who benefit most by manipulating trade to the detriment of the United States isn’t really surprising. However, it is a little stunning to see them so publicly, and openly, broadcast their anxiety over their inability to stop President Trump from reversing their advantage.

Stunning MAGAnomics – Holiday Sales Nearly Tripling Previous Forecasts…
Posted on December 14, 2017 by sundance

On the same day that DoLS reports unemployment claims are at their lowest level in 45 years; and on the same day when Reuters economist panel admits that wages are indeed going up quickly now; well, the November holiday sales results are being reviewed and the results are stunning.

(Reuters) U.S. retail sales increased more than expected in November as the holiday shopping season got off to a brisk start, pointing to sustained strength in the economy.

[…] The Commerce Department said retail sales rose 0.8 percent last month, with households buying a range of goods even as they cut back on purchases of motor vehicles. Data for October was revised to show sales gaining 0.5 percent instead of the previously reported 0.2 percent increase.

Retail sales accelerated 5.8 percent on an annual basis. Economists polled by Reuters had forecast retail sales increasing only 0.3 percent in November. (link)

5.8% growth over last year is BIGLY yuge. We’re talking about massive numbers. To move them almost 6% is bigly. Remember, retail sales account for approximately two-thirds of all U.S. economic activity within our GDP valuation. We are the world’s largest market economy.

In a separate report, the Labor Department said initial claims for state unemployment benefits dropped 11,000 to a seasonally adjusted 225,000 for the week ended Dec. 9. That was the lowest reading since mid-October when claims dropped to 223,000, a level not seen since March 1973.

[…] Last month’s increase in core retail sales suggested a strong pace of consumer spending in the fourth quarter. Consumer spending, which accounts for more than two-thirds of U.S. economic activity, is being supported by steady wage gains as the labor market tightens. (read full article)

It’s Official: Trump Now Has Greatest Stock Market Rally in History! Dow Breaks 70th New All-Time High in ’17 – Most Ever in One Year!
December 18, 2017 by Jim Hoft 5 Comments
Guest post by Joe Hoft

The Dow ended up again today at another all-time high for the 70th time this year – breaking the record for the most all-time highs in a calendar year set in 1995.
At the bell the Dow closed at its highest closing amount ever at 24,792. Since last year’s election the Dow is up over 35%!

* The Dow has increased more that 6,400 points since the November 8th election a year ago when the Dow closed at 18,333. This is the largest point increase in this amount of time in Dow history. This has never happened in the more than 100 years in the Dow.

* The Dow has increased more in 2017 than any year ever in Dow history! The Dow ended 2016 at 19,763 and has increased by more than 5,000 points through today. This is the most ever by more than 44% over the next best year ever! (In 2013 the Dow was up 3,472 points.)
* Since the election the Dow has surpassed 6 major milestones – 19,000, 20,000, 21,000, 22,000, 23,000 and 24,000.

* President Trump’s stock market rally is historical! No President has seen more all time highs (70) in their first year in office than President Trump. No one has seen more all-time highs in a year ever.

‘Never Trump’ Conservatives Soften to President Trump, Hail His Achievements

Getty Images

by ADAM SHAW19 Dec 20172,487

Almost a year into the Trump administration, some conservatives who formed part of the “Never Trump” movement during the campaign are softening — even praising the president for his successes in office.

New York Times readers on Sunday were treated to a column by conservative Ross Douthat — a frequent critic of Trump — who wrote about Trump’s underrated victory over the Islamic State. In the column, “A War Trump Won,” Douthat writes:

f you had told me in late 2016 that almost a year into the Trump era the caliphate would be all-but-beaten without something far worse happening in the Middle East, I would have been surprised and gratified. So very provisionally, credit belongs where it’s due — to our soldiers and diplomats, yes, but to our president as well.

Douthat also grills the press for not mentioning the success due to it contradicting the narrative of “Trumpian disaster.” He notes that many on both the left and the Never Trump right have feared Trump’s foreign policy more than anything, and yet it has wrought success so far.

In addition to the victory over ISIS, Douthat praises Trump’s restraint in the Middle East:

In particular, Trump has avoided the temptation often afflicting Republican uber-hawks, in which we’re supposed to fight all bad actors on 16 fronts at once. Instead he’s slow-walked his hawkish instincts on Iran, tolerated Assad and avoided dialing up tensions with Russia. The last issue is of course entangled with the great collusion debate — but it’s still a good thing that our mini-cold war has remained relatively cool and we aren’t strafing each other over Syria.

Prominent “Never Trump” conservative, National Review’s David French, echoesDouthat’s sentiment on the defeat of ISIS:

This is one of the best stories of the young Trump administration. While many of the battles were fought under Obama, Trump pursued the enemy relentlessly. He delegated decision-making to commanders in the field, they fought within the laws of war, and they prevailed. Trump promised to defeat ISIS, and he has delivered a tremendous victory.

A
lso at the National Review — the organization that formed the brain of the “Never Trump” movement among conservatives — editor Rich Lowry has written a piece listing Trump’s accomplishments in office, which he calls a “solid record of achievement.”

“It’s hard to see how a conventional Republican president would have done much better, except if he had managed to get Obamacare repealed, which was always going to be a dicey proposition given the narrow Republican majority in the Senate,” Lowry writes.

Lowry points to three signature achievements that he believes may not have been achieved by a more “regular” Republican president.

“If any Republican would have done much of what Trump has, three acts stand out — pulling out of the Paris accords, decertifying the Iran deal, and declaring Jerusalem the capital of Israel,” he writes. “All three demonstrated an imperviousness to polite opinion that is one of Trump’s signature qualities.”

The Washington Examiner, a conservative outlet that has published countless opinion pieces criticizing Trump, ran an editorial declaring “Trump is on a roll.” The editorial said:

One of the narratives of 2017 has been that Trump and Republicans on Capitol Hill have failed to achieve anything substantive. This has always been untrue, but in recent weeks it has become a ridiculous fiction. Amid drama, protest, miscues, and unprecedented political vitriol, real conservative victories are being achieved for America.

Some of that praise could spell civil war among such conservatives, with some of the once-Never Trump wing becoming frustrated with the hyperventilating of commentators who refuse under any circumstances to admit that Trump could get anything right — even policies more traditional conservatives normally embrace.

One such commentator is the Washington Post’s Jennifer Rubin who, as the outlet’s token conservative commentator, writes the “Right Turn” blog at the left-wing outlet. Yet as a Never Trumper, Rubin has refused to give an inch to Trump. This has, in turn, sparked criticism from National Review Online’s Charles Cooke.

Cooke, himself a frequent Trump critic, penned a column this week in which he tears into Rubin as one of the “Trump-obsessed zealots who add nothing to our discourse” and who will change her opinion on items such as the Iran deal and the Jerusalem embassy to oppose whatever Trump is doing.

If Trump likes something, Rubin doesn’t. If he does something, she opposes it. If his agenda flits into alignment with hers—as anyone’s is wont to do from time to time—she either ignores it, or finds a way to downplay it. The result is farcical and sad; a comprehensive and self-inflicted airbrushing of the mind.

Rubin, perhaps missing the point of Cooke’s article, responded by dismissing Cooke and the NR as “enablers of Trump.”

The Dow has rallied nearly 6,000 points since Election Day.

The US Stock Market (and your 401k gained $5 trillion in wealth since Trump was elected!

Trump decreased the US Debt in his first 100 days by $100 Billion. (President Obama increased the US debt in his first 100 days by more than $560 Billion.)

The US Manufacturing Index soared to a 33 year high in this period which were the best numbers since 1983 under President Reagan.

U.S consumer confidence jumped to a near 16-year high in July amid optimism over the labor market.

Trump’s unleashing our military might, that Obama held back, has annihilated ISIS in 9 short months after Obama claimed his “grandchildren’s generation will still be fighting ISIS.”

Illegal immigration is down 72% since President Trump’s Inauguration.

Housing sales are red-hot again. Under Obama houses for sale were on the market an average 102 days. This year, it’s just 45 days.

Food Stamp Use Falls to Lowest Level in Seven Years as people find opportunities in the workforce.

Super-MAGA-Winning for Christmas: U.S. Companies Announce Massive Employee Financial Benefits With Trump Tax Bill Passing…
Posted on December 20, 2017 by sundance

Nancy Pelosi and the Democrat party said the Trump Tax Reform bill was going to end up killing people. Perhaps if she was counting all the people injuring themselves while jumping for joy, she might be accurate.

Immediately following the passage of the Tax Cut Bill, U.S. companies are announcing their plans to increase the pay, benefits and bonuses of U.S. workers. This is almost too much winning…. but we can take it…. Super-MAGA-Winning:

(AT&T Story HERE)

Oh, but it doesn’t stop with AT&T.

(Wells Fargo Story HERE)

(Fifth Third Bancorp Story HERE)

These are real, tangible and immediate financial results above-and-beyond the results within the tax cut bill.

Progressives will try to deny this reality; but this is what happens when the free market is allowed to control it’s own wealth distribution. These are examples of those horrible corporations, as described by democrats, passing along tax savings directly to the people within the corporation.

…“and we will win, and you will win, and we will keep on winning, and eventually you will say we can’t take all of this winning, …please Mr. Trump …and I will say, NO, we will win, and we will keep on winning.”…
~ President Donald J Trump

And we haven’t even gotten to the good stuff yet.

Remember, U.S. consumer spending represents two-thirds of GDP. These announcements today are only the beginning of how much additional money American workers will be finding in their paychecks.

Now do you see how MAGAnomics builds upon itself exponentially?

Arctic Refuge Just the Start as Trump Moves to Unlock Alaska Oil

December 20, 2017 by Bloomberg

The Aiviq (blue hull) escorts the tugs Corbin Foss, Ocean Wave and Lauren Foss as they tow the conical drilling unit Kulluk from Kiliuda Bay near Kodiak Island, Alaska, Feb. 26, 2013, less than two months after it ran aground on a remote island in the western Gulf of Alaska. U.S. Coast Guard Photo

By Alex Nussbaum (Bloomberg) — Drilling for crude in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge may be just the start as President Donald Trump seeks to revive Alaska’s beleaguered oil industry.

Republicans in Congress handed the industry a long-sought victory on Tuesday, approving exploration in the vast Arctic preserve as part of their tax overhaul. The legislation, which Trump is expected to sign into law, would lift an almost 40-year old ban on prospecting for oil and natural gas in the refuge’s coastal plain, where endangered polar bears, caribou and other species roam.

It’s the capstone of a year in which legislators and the Trump administration pushed on multiple fronts to unwind regulatory restrictions in what was once America’s busiest oilfield. That won’t solve the challenge of declining wells, or global crude prices too low to support many Alaskan projects. But it’s a long way from a year ago, when then-President Barack Obama put millions of acres off-limits, citing the risks of oil spills and concerns about climate change.

“It’s a recognition that the era of oil is not over in Alaska,” said Kara Moriarty, president of the Alaska Oil and Gas Association, a trade group. “Clearly we have an administration that believes that America can be energy dominant, and that is a complete 180-degree shift from the previous administration.”

Republicans included the refuge in their bill as a revenue source, saying the drilling will generate $1 billion to offset tax cuts over the next decade. Trump’s expected to sign the legislation as soon as Wednesday. The administration has promised to fast-track lease offerings in the area, which could draw interest from operators including Exxon Mobil Corp. and ConocoPhillips.

It’s just one of many moves intended to rekindle Alaskan exploration:

As soon as this week, the Interior Department may unveil a draft of its new five-year plan for offshore U.S. drilling, including Arctic waters. The plan would build on Trump’s April executive order undoing Obama’s decision to ban new operations in most of the Chukchi and Beaufort seas. In November, the administration issued a permit to Italian oil giant Eni SpA for what would be the first exploratory well in U.S. Arctic waters since Royal Dutch Shell Plc abandoned a project in 2015. In August, Trump instructed regulators to allow seismic testing for oil and gas deposits in the wildlife refuge, reversing another Obama stance. Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke also ordered a rewrite of a 2013 plan that limited drilling in the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska in the state’s northwestern corner.

Environmentalists have gone to court or threatened to sue over the moves, and Democratic takeovers of the White House or Congress in coming years could stall many of them.

“We view the Trump approach as really a wholesale assault on America’s Arctic,” said Nicole Whittington-Evans, Alaska Regional Director for The Wilderness Society. The tax bill “will certainly be a setback for us, but it will only heighten our resolve to defend America’s last great wilderness.”

Frontier Exploration
Still, 2017 brought a burst of momentum for drillers who’ve seen Alaskan production fall from 2 million barrels a day in the late 1980s to less than 500,000 in recent years. Once-mighty North Slope reserves have been depleted and producers have turned their attention to cheaper options like U.S. shale fields in Texas and Oklahoma.

In early December, the administration conducted the largest-ever auction of drilling leases in the National Petroleum Reserve, putting access to almost half of the area’s 23 million acres up for bid. It received only seven bids for 80,000 acres, a reminder of the difficulties attracting interest in a remote, frigid landscape where wells can cost three times as much as in the Lower 48 states.

Arctic National Wildlife drilling may face similar reluctance, said Pavel Molchanov, a Raymond James Financial Inc. analyst.

“Our sense is that there is little to no current interest in the industry to invest in ANWR,” Molchanov said in a Dec. 4 research note. “This is high-risk ‘frontier exploration’ with a very distant roadmap to cash flow.”

Among Alaskan oil companies, there’s a growing confidence, said Kevin Durling, whose Anchorage-based Petroleum Equipment & Services Inc. provides drill bits, cement well casings and other products to North Slope explorers. The company has 20 employees and expects to add at least two more early next year as a result of expansion by Conoco, Repsol SA and others.

“It’s improving slowly, but the leading indicators are out there,” Durling said in a telephone interview. “I am much more optimistic that we can develop our resources and have a viable industry in Alaska; a year ago, I was not sure.”

before everyone gets all wet with excitement over these .corps giving away trinkets and pennies,

be very assured that if they are giving away a few bucks to their employees, that the real story is the corporate bailout is massive.............MASSIVE

the amounts going to the pleebs is but a penny or 2 on the dollar

give that some thought for just a second,

there ain't a one of those filthy bastards doing it out of the goodness of their hearts................it is marketing to hide the real bounty

don't be fools and buy into it
Jeesh. What a Debbie Downer.

DJT don't know nuffin about money?
I think we will do better with the raised deduction as we take the standard every year. I don't really feel sorry for the people that would miss out on deducting their state taxes and losing the mortgage interest deduction. That is a local issue.

JK, I already did the math on it

ATT made $13.3B last year prior to the tax cut.

They are tossing off $200M which is a nothing burger comparatively, $1k per worker.

If they took that one year NET INCOME, prior to them deducting it and getting more benefits from that and put it out to all employees, that figure would be over $66,000 per worker.

And that was prior to the tax cut for them, the accelerated depreciation, etc.

Their net income for ONE YEAR prior to the tax cut was 66X what they are willing to pry open their checkbooks and give the slaves.

So as I stated, don't be fools, you are being duped again

Even at $1,000/employee that still diminishes bonuses to the board and management. And know that the $1,000 employee bonus WILL BE taxed...AND AT&T will be able to deduct that bonus off of their corporate taxes...

Shit I would be very happy with a $1,000 bonus out of nowhere.
If I felt it wasn't enough I would start my own massive telecommunications business.

Who says the company has to give anything?

When people had wealth and were buying new cars every 2 or 3 years the company I worked for gave out great raises and bonuses- -wait for it- -so we wouldn't go work for the competition.

If you were good you could go to any shop you wanted. Skilled employee poaching was rampant.
As it should be in a healthy economy.
