Plague world — still
newsweek

In a further fillip to Joe Biden's election campaign, the former vice president is estimated as having an 86 percent chance of beating President Donald Trump in November, according to a forecast.

A model run by The Economist, which is updated every day and combines state and national polls, as well as economic indicators, put Biden's chances on June 19 of winning the White House at 86 percent.

This is just shy of the 87 percent in the previous two days, the highest chance the model has given Biden so far, as polling in several key swing states show Biden is either leading Trump or within the margin of error.

Déjà vu

[OH!, I'm sorry. Should this be in the Political Jokes thread?]

Trump’s primary vote totals trounce previous incumbents’ numbers

The high Trump turnout showed up not only in reliably Republican states like Montana and Arkansas, but even in deep-blue strongholds and in purple states that Joe Biden hopes to flip come November.
In Michigan’s March primary, Trump’s 639,144 votes dwarfed the 174,054 that Obama notched in 2012. A few weeks later, Trump scored 713,546 votes in Ohio — more than twice Obama’s 2012 total of 285,990.

I didn't know where to post this but I guess this thread is the best place.

Mockers will mock but this tweet just reaffirms something I have long thought. Considering all that he went up against and still he won, yep.... I think he was the one for such a time as this.

I realize mockers will mock. So be it. But for those that don't, here's the tweet:

NEW DJT

BIG VICTORY for patients – Federal court UPHOLDS hospital price transparency. Patients deserve to know the price of care BEFORE they enter the hospital. Because of my action, they will. This may very well be bigger than healthcare itself. Congratulations America!

New Home Sales Skyrocket 16.6% Blowing Past Expectations…
Posted on June 23, 2020 by sundance

Jumpin’ ju-ju bones… New home sales jumped a whopping 16.6% in May, blowing past the estimates of a 2.9% rise. The May increase in sales is nearly 13 percent higher than the same month one year ago.

Home sales are a key indicator of economic health because purchases of homes requires (1) income, a stable job; and (2) an optimistic financial outlook from the buyer.

The ENTIRE Trump border wall filmed for the first time! Not just a few peeks, but ALL the construction underway from San Diego, Calif to Brownsville, Texas. Now the largest construction project in the USA, it may be the largest in the world when measuring by total production per year.

Exclusive – Native American Senator Who Introduced Monument Protection Law Defends Andrew Jackson Statue

Former U.S. Sen. Ben Nighthorse Campbell (R-CO), a member of the Northern Cheyenne Indian Tribe who sponsored a 2003 law protecting federal monuments, called for the defense of a statue of Andrew Jackson and other monuments on Thursday’s edition of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Tonight with host Rebecca Mansour and special guest host John Hayward.

—Mansour asked Campbell about the Veterans’ Memorial Preservation and Recognition Act of 2003, which Campbell sponsored and introduced in the U.S. Senate. President Trump announced his intention to enforce this federal law, which carries a ten-year jail sentence, against the protesters toppling statues.

—Campbell said, “It’s really interesting. Sometimes it is said, ‘What goes around comes around,’ and I guess in this case that bill introduced years ago came around. I was disturbed, particularly because I’m a Korean War veteran, and some of the vandals defaced the Korean War Memorial. I had friends die in that war. It’s a very personal thing to me.”

—Campbell described his motivation for composing the bill. He said, “I’m an artist in my private life. I paint, make jewelry, and so on. I’ve always been concerned about an artist’s or craftsmen’s right under the First Amendment, so I was thinking of that and reflecting on a lot of other things at the same time.”

—One of my points of thinking when I first introduced that bill was also protecting integrity of the original artist,” shared Campbell. “They have a First Amendment right not to see their works destroyed.”

—“Remember, years ago, what was called the Mapplethorpe exhibit,” recalled Campbell, “when an artist named [Robert] Mapplethorpe was doing these disgusting scenes of Jesus Christ in jars of urine and things of that nature, and I was totally against what he was doing, but he had, I guess, the First Amendment right to to do it. The difference in that case was he was using federal money to paint those paintings of Christ. That was wrong.”

—Campbell addressed campaigns to vandalize, destroy, and remove monuments and statues.

—“When I introduced that language, nobody thought in terms of the Southern states who were doing things to really to glorify some of their soldiers,” Campbell stated. “I think they have a right to do that [with] soldiers from the South. Robert E. Lee was an outstanding cadet at West Point at one time, and military historians think that he was one of the top two or three generals in the whole Civil War. He was just in the wrong side of that one, but that should not diminish his skill as a soldier.”

—Campbell remarked, “I’m really a great advocate of Dr. Martin Luther King’s way of addressing things. We should have social change through a civil discourse, and not simply by ganging up on each other to see who’s got the most people in a fight. I am a Korean War veteran, and I’m a Cheyenne. I’m very proud of that. You probably know that the history of American Indians at the hands of the federal government and mobs — through different kinds of terrible, tragic killings — were just beyond belief.”

—Campbell added, “It is said by the Smithsonian, in fact, that before the coming of Columbus there were perhaps 17 million Native Americans in North America. By the year 1900 that had dwindled down to less than 200,000, most of them killed through diseases that they had no conditioning for, but also through different kinds of massacres like the Sand Creek Massacre, Wounded Knee, and others.”

Yet if you look at the records now, Native Americans have the highest percent of enlistment per capita of any ethnic group in the United States,” Campbell continued. “They’ve learned how to adapt and how to try to get ahead in life, and although things are still not very good for a lot of Native people, through their own efforts they’re making progress

Campbell asked, “Who could have known it, when I was writing that bill 17 years ago, that we’d have people that want to destroy government property [and] statues they don’t like by mob rule, rather than through some kind of a civil discourse

Seems to me, if they don’t like them, they should get somebody to introduce a bill to take them down, but not simply get a big group of people and go burn it or set it on fire.”

WWG1WGA Are you tired of winning yet?

call a wambulance if your head explodes after reading this post.

Please explain to me why you have a problem with OUR president?
It's because they just don't like him. Can't articulate why they don't like him, they just don't. It's as though they've been brainwashed.

"Orange man bad!" "Orange man bad!" "Orange man bad!" "Orange man bad!" "Orange man bad!" "Duuuh, I said, orange man bad!"

This 74-year-old man coming back home from work at 2am. Most successful men his age are retired, living at their vacation homes. He comes back after a long day that started before the sun rose, exhausted, with his tie open, hat in hand, knowing another day of great accomplishment has ended.

This man left his billionaire lifestyle and palatial mansions where he could live happily and play golf in peace any day he liked. He put his wealth aside and went to work for free, for $1 a year, for you and me, for us, for AMERICA. While other presidents became rich from the presidency, this man has LOST over 2 billion dollars in wealth during the last 4 years.

He put aside his amazing lifestyle for getting ambushed every single day by the media and the radical left Democrats that trash this man who works for them until 2am for free!

He doesn't do it for money or power, he already has that. He is doing it so our homes will be safe, schools will improve and jobs are higher paying. He does it so starting a new business is easier and we can keep a few dollars in our pockets at the end of the month. Other presidents before him made sure to tax us until our pockets were almost empty.

Are you THAT BLIND? THAT BLIND not to see the wonderful things this man is doing for you and your family? THAT BLIND that after all his work for minority groups in America, the media keeps calling him a racist? DONALD TRUMP IS NOT A RACIST or an ANTI-SEMITE(His daughter, son in law and grandchildren are all Jewish)!

President Donald J. Trump, I want to thank you with all my heart. I am so sorry for the blind hatred you have been made to endure. You are a good and generous man. I KNOW THIS.

The American People are in a bad place right now....in their hearts and souls. God, please help us. President Trump is not our problem...THE MEDIA IS!

President Trump is definitely the hardest working president I have seen in my lifetime. May God bless and protect him from all evil.

♦Without COVID-19 panic Democrats cannot easily achieve ‘mail-in’ voting; which they desperately need in key battleground states in order to control the outcome.

♦Without COVID-19 panic Democrats cannot shut down rallies and political campaigning efforts of President Trump; which they desperate need to do in key battleground states.

♦Without COVID-19 panic Democrats cannot block the campaign contrast between an energetic President Trump and a physically tenuous, mentally compromised, challenger.

♦Without COVID-19 panic Democrats do not have an excuse for cancelling the DNC convention in Milwaukee; thereby blocking Team Bernie Sanders from visible opposition while protecting candidate gibberish from himself.

♦Without COVID-19 panic Democrats do not have a mechanism to keep voters isolated from each-other; limiting communication and national debate adverse to their interests. COVID-19 panic pushes the national conversation into the digital space where Big Tech controls every element of the conversation.

♦Without COVID-19 panic Democrats cannot keep their Blue state economies easily shut-down and continue to block U.S. economic growth. All thriving economies are against the political interests of Democrats.

♦Without COVID-19 panic Democrats cannot easily keep club candidate Joe Biden sealed in the basement; where the electorate is not exposed to visible signs of his dementia.

♦Without COVID-19 panic it becomes more difficult for Big Tech to censor voices that would outline the fraud and scheme. With COVID-19 panic they have a better method and an excuse.

♦Without COVID-19 panic Democrats cannot advance, influence, or organize their preferred presidential debate format, a ‘virtual presidential debate’ series.

[Comrade Gretchen Whitmer knows this plan, hence she cancelled the Michigan venue]

All of these, and more, strategic outcomes are based on the manufactured weaponization of the COVID-19 virus to achieve a larger political objective. There is ZERO benefit to anyone other than Democrats for the overwhelming hype surrounding COVID-19.

It is not coincidental that all corporate media are all-in to facilitate the demanded fear that Democrats need in order to achieve their objectives. Thus there is an alignment of all big government institutions and multinationals to support the same.

Nothing is coincidental. Everything is political.

STATEMENTS & RELEASES

President Donald J. Trump’s Letter to the Governor of Illinois and Mayor of Chicago
LAW & JUSTICE

Issued on: June 26, 2020

Governor J.B. Pritzker
Governor of Illinois
Chicago, Illinois 60601

Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot
Mayor of Chicago
Chicago, Illinois 60602

Dear Governor Pritzker and Mayor Lightfoot:

I write to you today to call your attention to and urge action on the devastating violence in Chicago. While I have been heartened to see crime reductions nationally the last few years, I have been horrified by the continued violence in this great American city.

I recently read an article from the Chicago Sun-Times on June 8, 2020, “18 murders in 24 hours: Inside the most violent day in 60 years in Chicago,” which discussed the severe crime and lack of law and order in our Nation’s third largest city. The article details how “85 people were shot and 24 killed the previous weekend, the most in modern history in Chicago.” Your lack of leadership on this important issue continues to fail the people you have sworn to protect. I am concerned it is another example of your lack of commitment to the vulnerable citizens who are victims of this violence and a lack of respect for the men and women in law enforcement. The article recounts the following horrors:

A hardworking father killed.

A West Side high school student murdered.

A college freshman who hoped to become a correctional officer, gunned down.

18 people killed Sunday, May 31, the single most violent day in Chicago in six decades.

The weekend of May 29, 25 people were killed and another 85 wounded by gunfire.

The most violent weekend in Chicago’s modern history, stretching police resources that were already thin because of protests and looting.

Justice Samuel Alito is reportedly considering retirement and that his family is ready to leave Washington.

That's another important reason to vote for President Trump's re-election!

Blowout: The U.S. Economy Added 4.8 Million Jobs in June, Unemployment Fell to 11.1%

The U.S. economy added 4.8 million jobs in June and the unemployment rate fell to 11.1 percent, both better than expected.

The increase in the ranks of employed workers shows that companies ramped up hiring as the economy reopened and consumers came back to stores, restaurants, and other businesses that had been shuttered in March and April.

Job growth was strong in restaurants and bars, reflecting the reopening of those establishments across the country, which added 1.5 million jobs, the Labor Department said Thursday. But employment remains 3.1 million below February’s level, the month before the pandemic hit the U.S. economy.

Retail stores added 740,000. There were big gains in clothing stores, furniture stores, department stores, and auto dealerships. Despite the gains, total employment is around 1.5 million below February’s level.

Manufacturing employment rose by 356,000 but is down by 757,000 since February. June employment increases were concentrated in the durable goods component, with the auto sector adding 196,000 jobs, accounting for over half of the job gain in manufacturing. Construction employment increased by 158,000 in June, following a gain of 453,000 in May.

Despite the increase in the number of employed workers, there are still tens of millions fewer Americans working today than February. Compared with a year ago, there are 12.957 million fewer jobs in the U.S. And a separate report on Thursday showed that over 1.427 million Americans were laid off last week, the fifteenth week in a row of one million-plus new claims for unemployment benefits but the thirteenth week in a row of declining claims.

The previous week’s level of jobless claims was revised up by 2,000 from 1,480,000 to 1,482,000.

Economists had been expecting around 3 million new jobs, although the range of estimates was unusually wide due to the unprecedented nature of the shutdown and reopening. Estimates ranged from 1.9 million jobs to more than 9 million. The unemployment rate was expected to fall to 12.4 percent from 13.3 percent.

A report on private payrolls from ADP and Moody’s Analytics on Wednesday estimated that businesses increased their workforces by 2.37 million in June. The estimate for May, which initially showed a loss of 2.76 million jobs, was revised to show a gain of 3 million.

The government’s nonfarm payroll data, which covers both private and public sector workers, showed the economy gaining 2.5 million jobs in May, far more than expected and indicating an accelerated pace of the recovery.

The labor force participation rate increased by 0.7 percentage points in June to 61.5 percent, but is 1.9 percentage points below its February level. Total employment, as measured by the household survey, rose by 4.9 million to 142.2 million in June. The employment-population ratio, at 54.6 percent, rose by 1.8 percentage points over the month but is 6.5 percentage points lower than in February.

Average hourly wages are up 5 percent compared with a year ago, although they fell 1.3 percent compared with May. Average wages often rise at times of mass layoffs when lower-paid employees are more likely to lose their jobs. The average workweek slipped from 34.7 hours to 34.5 hours.

The Trump administration’s aid programs appear to be working. Direct relief payments to taxpayers and enhanced unemployment have kept incomes up despite the huge rise in unemployment, which in turn has boosted demand for consumer products. The Paycheck Protection Progam, which provides forgivable loans to small businesses that avoid layoffs, also seems to have supported employment and rehiring.

Germany SITREP: Former German Chancellor Says U.S.-EU Alliance Could Now End

A German equivalent to UK’s Financial Times and America’s Wall Street Journal is the Dusseldorf Handelsblatt or “Commerce Sheet,” which headlined on June 30th, “Former Chancellor Schröder: USA Ending Transatlantic Partnership”.

They reported:

Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder has condemned possible new US sanctions against the Nord Stream 2 natural gas pipeline as “deliberate termination of the transatlantic partnership.” A draft law currently under discussion in the US Congress is “a widespread, unjustified attack on the European economy and an unacceptable interference with EU sovereignty and the energy security of Western Europe,” Schröder writes in his statement for a public hearing of the Economic Committee scheduled for Wednesday in the Bundestag.

The article closes:

Schröder sees the relations with the USA as “heavily burdened” by “escalating tariffs and going it alone” policy by the Americans. Schröder writes: “Economic fines against a NATO ally during the current economic recession are nothing other than a deliberate termination of the transatlantic partnership.”

This is as if Jimmy Carter or Barack Obama were to say that EU policymakers had a trade policy toward the U.S. that is so hostile and uncooperative that in order to comply with it, the U.S. would have to subordinate itself to the EU and lose some of its own sovereignty, and as if he were to tell the U.S. Congress that for them to okay the EU’s demands in this matter would be “nothing other than a termination of the transatlantic partnership.”

Congress has not yet passed this legislation (new economic sanctions legislation that is co-sponsored in the U.S. Senate by Republican Ted Cruz and Democrat Jeanne Shaheen) but it (“S.1441 – Protecting Europe’s Energy Security Act of 2019”) enjoys strong bipartisan support and has been considered almost certain to be passed in both houses of the U.S. Congress and signed into law by President Donald Trump. It is not a partisan issue in the United States.

Neither is it partisan in Germany. Both of Germany’s main political Parties (Schröder being SPD) support strongly the Nord Stream 2 natural gas pipeline, which will be considerably more economical for supplying natural gas to the EU than would be the U.S. Government’s demand that American shipped fracked liquified natural gas be used, instead of Russian pipelined natural gas, in Europe. Though this U.S. legislative initiative is called “Protecting Europe’s Energy Security,” its overwhelming support in the U.S. Congress is instead actually for protecting U.S. fracking corporations. The bill’s title is only for ‘patriotic’ propaganda purposes (which is the typical way that legislation is named in the United States — as a sales-device, so as to sound acceptable not only to the billionaires who fund the Parties but also to the voters on election day).

Both of America’s political Parties are significantly funded by America’s domestic producers of fracked gas. One of the few proud achievements of U.S. President Obama that has been proudly continued by President Trump has been their boosting U.S. energy production, largely fracked gas, so as to reduce America’s foreign-trade deficit. However, if this control over the U.S. Government by frackers continues, then there now exists a strong possibility, or even a likelihood, that the transatlantic alliance will end, as a result.
