Uber drivers are not professional drivers.

They make taxi drivers look courteous and competent by comparison, and they cause too many accidents around here.

Regulators shoulda thought of that prior to getting private operators defined commercially as drivers. Now they wanna complain when people use it to their advantage.

Cabs are pretty expensive compared to Uber around here. Smart move is to use a private hack.............if you know one. Even cheaper.

I ran some ads years ago in a southern Vermont town for a driving service, but before I was able to start I got the sneaking suspicion I had been reported. All the regulations with millions of insurance they want you to have are a big deterent. Monopolies, overcharges by legal cab operators, and punishments of those who offer neighborly services are wrong.

How Uber uses psychological tricks to make its drivers work longer hours and earn more money for the company
  • Uber uses psychological tactics that trick drivers into working longer and harder
  • Earning goals tell drivers they're close to hitting target when they try logging off
  • This means Uber has clever algorithm set up that sends drivers their next job before their current ride is over
  • In some cities, Uber experimented with popups that encourage them to hit their profit mark like: 'You're almost halfway there, congratulations!'
  • Psychologists have long known that encouragement toward a concrete goal can motivate people to complete a task
